  1. Some small things. I changed the interior exhaust feathers to look a bit more like an exhaust. This area can obviously vary quite a bit. For most liveries I will keep this as the standard. Now I'm also working on liveries. Two Ukrainian Vipers only a couple of months fresh into service.
  2. Probably the last update to my textures overhaul. I reworked the external cockpit textures by adding missing rivets and other details. Details like wrinkles in the cables of the AOA/NWS indicator and HUD. I have also added actual MFD pages and instrument gauges. Most of it is entirely reworked but these textures are heavily based on @Ala12Rv-watermanpc and @wolfthrower cockpit textures.
  3. Thank you my friend! Overall my new texture improvements are pretty much finished. I want to release some updated skins in the next few weeks. These images showcase my new texture set with a glossy paint scheme such as those from the Thunderbirds. This livery is not mine and will not be published.
  4. Thanks! At the beginning I didn't know what it should look like. I just added some new screws and rivets in different sizes and shapes and decided they look a lot better than all the dots surrounded by a circle. Now you can actually make out a cross screw head from a torx screw head. Is it necessary? Not really but when I'm adding more rivets, like on the wings, I can do all of them in the same way to have it uniform. Overall it results in a lot more sharper details, which is what I was aiming for.
  5. Many thanks to everyone! @Carbon715 Glad to hear, thanks! I'm trying my best to find detailed reference pictures and add all those things missing. Whatever it is you can add to the list for completion, feel free to share. @Grodin I already answered that on page 1.
  6. So this will be a new pilot model with new animations for the internal cockpit. Is that new pilot model also going to replace the external pilot model?
  7. There is not much to see on the tail, except that you can now make out screws and rivets, so the differences lay in the details. You can see the new canopy scratches, an actual textured pitot tube, rivets on the front canopy frame, sealant around the canopy and AIFF as well as RWR antennas.
  8. Any other skins not done by me need to be reworked by their authors, in order to include the improvements. Which means user made skins and default skins need to be reworked. If not, they will continue to work just fine as you know them. I will release these new improved textures with some of my existing skins in the coming few weeks.
  9. Thanks a lot! Thanks! What do you mean by addon liveries? These textures act as a new base template. If you want other liveries to include the same improvements, they need to be reworked by their authors, with my permission or credit to use my textures.
  10. Now the tail is reworked as well with new rivets, seams and panel lines. I have some comparison shots. But I wanted to finally take some pictures in game. I also added scratches and dirt to the canopy.
  11. Thanks! It probably will be difficult to handle for most, because to get all of the above improvements, other textures are needed which are not included inside the original template. I always had this in mind from the beginning. But I haven't decided on how the template will look like, to be more user friendly, and when and if I can release it.
  12. Thanks everyone! Both wing textures are now completely reworked to an appropriate level. That includes all the new rivets from above as well as new horizontal stabilizers. All that's left to do is reworking and improving the tail texture. After that I'm starting to call it completed so I can start making some actual liveries. You can faintly spot the new rivets. I added these since weathering and leaks sometimes start to build up from those rivets. Comparison shot of the main fuselage and wing between the default and my improved textures.
  13. No, this is not planned. Completely new set of rivets for the wings. Some rivets are smaller, others bigger. Quite the difference.
  14. You can always revert to the default helmet textures by editing the lua file. Do this by just removing the lines below from the lua. Or copy these lines and replace them. It will force the skin to use the default textures. {"pilot_F18_helmet", 0 ,"pilot_F18_helmet",true}; {"pilot_F18_helmet", 1 ,"pilot_F18_helmet",true}; {"pilot_F18_helmet", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"pilot_F18_helmet_RoughMet",true};
  15. Thanks everyone! This is the idea behind it. Getting the model/textures as detailed as it can be so that even up close it looks authentic. Especially when you might want to walk around the aircraft for a pre-flight check, maybe? Yes, the first of such improvements I started to add years ago and in the last weeks/months I have been adding a lot more improvements. It will still take some time and work until I can call it finished as a template.
  16. The external textures created by Eagle Dynamics for their F-16 Viper seem to have been left in an unfinished state since Early Access release. Which means details, as well as a somewhat realistic or authentic weathering pattern are absent next to many other things. I spent a lot of work in the past to improve and add up all these small details to the external textures. Overall I added many missing panels, rivets, holes, exhausts, vents, seams, lights and other details to the whole aircraft. Too long and finicky to list all the changes in detail. So below is a short list of the main changes and improvements so far. Added missing panels, rivets as well as holes and exhausts to the bottom fuselage Added more detail to the engine exhaust Added dirt, scratches and leaked oil to the airbrakes mechanism Reworked all rivets and added rivets on the top fuselage (rivet counter) Added textures to the M61 gun Added sealant to the canopy frame, RWR and AIFF antennas - Added new cockpit textures (Currently a sort of WIP placeholder. They are a custom mix of textures made by watermanpc and wolfthrower) So far I reworked the main fuselage, some parts of the tail, all pylons and the fuel tanks. The wings will be overhauled as well with new rivets, etc. WIP preview screens. Compared to the "default" livery by ED (before). Sealant around the RWR antenna Static discharge mounts New engine exhaust. The gas residue on the inside of the nozzles is not final and may vary, can be lighter. Textures for the M61 gun Textures for the internal air refueling door Panels and rivets on the belly near the tailhook Sealant around the AIFF antennas and rivets on the canopy New rivets on the aft fuselage Sealant around the canopy and the AIFF antennas. New rivets and details to the main top fuselage. Close up of the refueling door with new rivets and deeper seams. Complete overview of the main fuselage. Notice the tail (hollywood) lights. My favorite so far, the sealant around the canopy.
  17. Indeed, the mountains do look a lot more detailed than on other terrains. Great work!
  18. They idea with these skins was to create a "what-if" Super Viper with 4++ generation fighter aircraft technologies. Additionally a RAM (Radar Absorbent Material) coating as it is found on the F-22 Raptor which I haven't finished yet. So far the skins include reworked panels or panel lines with diamond shapes. Similar to the Super Hornet design. Reworked parts include the landing gear doors, nose cone, engine exhaust with diamond shapes and most of the maintenance panels on the main fuselage. Both skins are uploaded to the User Files. F-16XL 416th Flight Test Squadron (Super Viper) 2-tone F-16XL 416th Flight Test Squadron (Super Viper) Some screens:
  19. It's going public this week. I'm adding a lot more details like the tiles or seams on the bottom. Anyone can feel free to help and figure out if the bottom, like the weapon bay door or wings are coated in this shiny material as well or not. So far I couldn't really make it out from the images or references I found.
  20. Look what I found! I spotted the Zombie Raptor with the mirror coating over Nevada.
