  1. We could guess, as to why the files were removed, and keep asking to restore all of the files from the Database folder until we got them all back. Or we wouldn't have to ask for each .lua to be restored, if we could simply get an answer or explanation as to why they aren't available anymore.
  2. @BIGNEWY Can you tell us why tracks are of any use even for such a lightning issue? Is it to verify that users don't use any shader mods, or modified textures, etc.? Track file attached. F-18 model issue.trk
  3. There was a lot more stuff in the Scripts/Database folder to which we have no access anymore for some reason.
  4. Didn't we cover this on the first page? I haven't noticed that this problem is resolved by ED. If it is I will update my skins of course.
  5. I take my previous post back by looking at the textures. It looks more like a 3d model issue as Zeagle pointed out. The model was also updated with 2.7, the textures were not.
  6. I believe it's a normal texture issue. It's not just on the spine but also below the cockpit where the ejection warning labels are placed.
  7. F-16C Block 50D 91-0383 from the 416th Flight Test Squadron (FLTS) stationed at Edwards AFB, California. Tail Code ED. Landing gear textures are credited to PorcoRosso86. External cockpit textures are credited to watermanpc. Download April 2021 I'm currently working on a new skin for the Viper. It is the Block 50 AF 91-0383 from the FLTS at Edwards AFB. The skin is not finished at all yet, especially the nose needs to be changed to a darker color tone. For now I have completed the tail and the main top fuselage parts. The whole bottom fuselage and the wings still need to be done. I'm aiming for a mostly clean aircraft. But I thought I'd share some screenshots already.
  8. I have been changing the engine textures by looking at similar Chinese Flanker airframe engines. The top is pretty much complete, also note the engine nozzles are new as well. I took the textures from the Su-34 and adjusted them to fit onto the Su-33.
  9. I'm not a pilot either, but from what I heard this is even an effect in reality. It is more difficult to estimate your height above water in certain lightning conditions.
  10. I hope these files aren't encrypted now as well. Otherwise I too hope they revert this change and allow us access to these files again. Unless they are placed elsewhere now but I couldn't find them yet. It seems adding a vehicle to a certain country is impossible now, or removing pylons for certain aircraft.
  11. You can simply change a or add a line in the description.lua. It looks as follows: custom_args = { [619] = 0.0, -- 0=Gold, 0.5=Dark, 1.0=Clear } Argument 619 controls the material or color of the canopy. By setting it to 0.0 you get the Gold texture, 0.5 Dark texture and 1.0 Clear.
  12. Now that I look at it I don't think it's fully open, in real life.
  13. Are you in full AB? I'm pretty sure it opens up a lot more if you push the throttle all the way forward.
  14. Oh man, that's actually really nice to see on another computer. I was first aiming for a clean or out of the factory appearance. You might know, the Raptor can get quite weathered and worn out, highlighting a lot more details. So I hope to have weathered liveries in the future as well.
  15. I'm calling the textures final now. Here is a list of what changed or got improved compared to the default textures. - New RoughMet textures - Added RAM coating effect - Matt panels, nose cone and airframe surface edges - Engine air intakes cast more shadows - Added wavy bumps in front of the intake overpressure doors - Overall normal map strength reduced - Reworked engine nozzles with more details and dirt - New engine fan textures - New colors - Reworked exhaust ducts - New landing gear wheel textures - Lightning protectors on the nose cone reworked with normal maps - Reworked canopy glass material - Details to the canopy frame - Added multiple helmet visors (black, blue, orange) - New rivets - Improved navigation lights - Fixed black gap lines between the texture parts - Adjusted HUD glass - Added HUD projector into the cockpit Some screenshots to top it off.
  16. I don't want to steal the show, so here are a two more screenshots of the new Raptor textures. I adjusted colors, reflectivity values and minor stuff to get it all ready for inclusion into Nightstorms mod!
  17. Two small videos showing what it looks like to watch a BFM training from an observer point of view. There is no music involved just vanilla DCS sounds, with a couple of edits and gap fillers. All mods are linked in the description.
  18. I believe there are also a couple of filters involved with the Supercarrier screenshots.
  19. I understand your frustration, since this would be a very simple and easy fix. Even more so if the correct and fixed textures are already available to ED. All we can do is create more threads like these and wait until it's fixed.
  20. I "reworked" the external textures, by making small improvements and adding more details all over the airframe. The major change you notice is due to the RoughMet textures I adjusted, in order to replicate the RAM coating more accurately. I still want to tweak these a little bit more, make it lighter. I think it's too dark right now under certain lightning conditions. If there is enough interest I can share these with @Nightstorm so he can include them! Some preview screens.
  21. This bug is already reported. See also this thread.
  22. Indeed, very nice work!
