    F-16XL Paint Scheme

Thank you guys! The skins are near complete. Tail markings are now painted.
  2. I'm trying to implement white and black bort numbers for my skin. Now I want to color the refuel door numbers in white and the nose numbers in black. The problem being that both number placements use the same texture or description line to call up the texture. So that it is not possible to have both numbers in a different color, except for the first digit of the nose numbers. The line for that would be: F16_bl50_MAT1_BORT_NUMBER_X100 to color the first digit in black, the remaining 3 stay white. Am I missing something or is it not possible to color the whole 4 digit number on the nose in a different color than the refuel door numbers? It surprises me since on actual F-16's with the two gray tone paint scheme the top numbers aren't the same color as on the nose.
  3. There is very minor wing flex. It's just not really as noticeable as on the F-16 or F/A-18. Nothing speaks against some visual improvements. But most people aren't going super fast in the A-10 to see the wings bend noticeably so that it would be worth the implementation.
  4. This skin is based on the NASA F-16XL paint scheme from around the mid 1990's. It's not supposed to represent the original paint scheme a 100% accurately. With this skin I'm aiming for a fleet or squadron aircraft in service. DOWNLOAD 08-24-2020: So at this point I still plan to add a second version with tail codes so bort numbers, serial number, etc.. Once I finished that, the skin will be uploaded. I edited the RoughMet's to give the white and gray colors on the bottom of the airframe their reflective properties. While the black paint goes with a more matte appearance. Current progress so far:
  5. Good news! Do you have other skins in work? Indeed the tanks, they look excellent though!
  6. Hey Flanker, great work right there! :) Must have been pain getting the flames all right.
  7. At best represent day time, weather conditions, etc. in a simple preview window which directly shows the DCS World. Same as you would view skins in the preview window, or similar to the ModelViewer. If we take it a whole lot of steps further to another solution, implement a 3D MissionEditor.
  8. Also, forget your priority thing when coding and textures/graphics are two different branches. Graphic designers work on getting the flight model right and the coders the textures, or how does it work?
  9. Perhaps to control the aircraft, instruments and panels etc.?
  10. I believe the JHMCS model, or ED's HGU-55 model in general has wrong dimensions. If they are going to continue to expand this model to more airframes, I hope they get it more accurately shaped with more detail. Likely you would create a new model from scratch, just as Heatblur is going to do?
  11. Take a look at this cinematic video to see what we are doing. Join us and we help you to create your own skins and liveries in DCS World!
  12. Wow, amazing work! That's a day and night difference.
  13. Use the External Zoom keys under Views in the controls. Standard keybind is RCtrl + Num* or RCtrl + Num/
  14. Depending on how detailed the textures are, file size for skins is not going to be a problem with the Kiowa module?
  15. Some Luftwaffe liveries are way too overdone. They have too much detail and symbols in them at certain places, for my taste that is. Others like a lot of detail and stuff to look at. It's art, there really are no borders.
  16. Exactly my same thought! I'm certain we will eventually see it at least as an AI aircraft by Deka Ironworks some day.
  17. Updated the first post with the new Download link. The update includes a reworked Blue version, new White and Modern Dark versions and custom RoughMets made by watermanpc and adjusted by me to fit these 3 liveries. I also copied and pasted some text stencils from Deka Ironworks J-11 template over to these skins.
  18. For the modern Dark variant I removed the old metallic panels of the engines and replaced them with the standard material of the aircraft.
  19. Here are 3 different skins for the Su-33 in form of fictional Chinese J-15 paint schemes. These are mostly made up but still slightly based on real aircraft. J-15 Shenyang - Flanker-X2 - Chinese Air Force I use Deka Ironworks textures for engine parts, text/stencils and the chinese pilot. Included are RoughMet files, optimized for the Shenyang liveries, based on watermanpc's work. Here are some screenshots of the new variants. They come in White, Dark and Blue paint schemes.
  20. You know, when DCS starts to simulate multicrew cockpits, deck crew and pilots walking over the flight deck, even carrier ready rooms it's not a bad idea to have accurate models.
  21. The effect is almost 5 years old? I would also like to see exhaust effect updates for missiles like the AMRAAM, HARM, the AGM-65 too.

    F-15E UFC poll

Double the workload? Perhaps the other UFC version could be implemented later on in the development.
