  1. The new flight model seems to make a lot of good changes for the landings. Not entirely sure if it fixes everything, but feels better so far. How are your results?
  2. I've been searching around for an official statement about the pitching near the deck (low AOA in the wires, 3ptsiw etc) and therefore reading this old thread. Has there ever been an official statement whether or not this is a bug or something the actual aircraft does? I can live with both, but would like to know if it's my flying skills or something in the game.
  3. Were there not a lot more templates by default in game? I have an older mission where i placed a SA10/SA11/SA2 sites from a template, but now it seems the list is mostly empty.
  4. I completed the mission with all the lights off in my room and made good use of the radar. Then its allright.
  5. Honestly in the current version of DCS i think in this mission it's almost impossible to do anything usefull at night. Everything outside the cockpit reads as pitch-black except some coastal towns and the moon. The NVG is very grainy. But even the TGP and Mav displays are almost unreadably as they appear as fully green squares as visible in the youtube video above. I hope the night lighting gets some attention.

  7. Well, I tried the mission again the other day, didn't have the same issues as before, so who knows. DCS did have some updates in the meantime
  8. Im having trouble launching off the carrier in mission 6. I hook up to the cat and then the mission seems to 'reset', meaning all other fighters disappear and i can't continue. Tried 2 times on cat 1 and 2.
  9. I didn't know Raven One had checkpoints, that sounds like it may be helpfull, gonna try it out. Does anyone have a link or a quote where the devs discussed the save game feature and what the issues were?
  10. Holy necropost! Anyway, i too would very much like a save game feature for DCS as i struggle to find the time to complete the longer campaign missions, due to reallife/family stuff. Seeing as how track files and tacview record pretty much everything, it should be doable?

Please don't force any strange restrictions on a savegame feature. It's MY singleplayer campaign playthrough and i should be able to play it as i like. Seeing as how track files and tacview record pretty much everything, i don't think its really a technical issue. There's a request in the wishlist section which i raised from 2017
  12. on the EGIW, full throttle a split second before landing seems to work. I get the 3PTS IW a lot? (3 point landing) I really dont think my glideslope is off.. any suggestions?
  13. so.. how does the grading actually work? I can land fine, but get almost exclusive C passes.. (ouch the ego) Should i be level and straight before calling the ball? and at what distance? edit... oh i see, the manual has been updated... wings level and in the groove @ 3/4 mile.. then call the ball and the grading starts..
  14. The base game is free, so just install and try it before you spend all kinds of money.
  15. If you keep having problems, even after a reformat, it's most likely a hardware problem. Can you run other games without crashes? Maybe try some benchmark software to see if that runs. Is it a new pc or have you played DCS without problems before on this machine?

The ability to load and merge large scale templates (maybe user made) such as: Ww2 atlanticwall Ww2 post invasion Realistic 1985 air defense for map Realistic 2008 air defense for map Commercial flight traffic Also a way to filter placeable units by era. For instance only show realistic units for 1995, which hides the ww2 stuff and some new ones.
  17. 3d visualization to see unit placement and weather/lighting ajustments. A way to let ai play the mission and fast forward/backward to see what everything is doing (like in tacview) and how scripts play out. Oh and a more immersive briefing system. Maybe a bit of optional ingame video, followed by an overview of the map with animated evolving mission plan. (Remember like the old TIE fighter game)

  19. +1 There is a volume control close to the on/off button for the RWR. But i don't think it works.
  20. You can delete the user controller binding files from your DCS settings folder. Then it resets back to defaults. Make a backup first. C:\users\%username%\saved games\DCS world
  21. I did some tests and it seems you are right. CSS reverts to 0 degrees roll when roll is smaller than 5 degrees. ATTH maintains ANY roll, even if 1 degree. In CSS mode, if there is wind, it seems to auto correct to maintain current heading when at 0 roll. (time acceleration and slow speeds really show it) ATTH just starts to drift away. So i think you're spot on, thank you!
  22. If you mean the maximum speed within the DDI it moves from left to right. There probably is an option. There is in the a10c. Not sure about f18 But again, mine moves pretty fast when given full input from the Warthog mini stick. 1-2 seconds left to right i guess. This full input is given faster through axis saturation.

  24. Try the saturation for the axis, so you dont have to push so hard. Saturation plus a curve worked wonders for me
  25. I've tried it, but they look and feel the same to me. At least how they are implemented in DCS. Both are steerable and maintain bank and pitch. Both disconnect about the same time with hard stick inputs. Anyone have a different experience? It's not really an issue, just curious.
