Well, didn't know that for sure, thanks for heads up. You said it's contained in the pylon with HARM. So it means if we have 4 HARMs loaded we have 4 independent TAS systems? It kinda sounds like it's a single use for each missile, then you can throw it into trash.
-
At this point we are able to fire HARMs only in Self Protect mode. For me it means that we can't really control them, even tho we can cycle through different radiation sources. Also, I know HARMs from the F-16, so it's a different story, as the deployment of the HARM is totally different due to HTS (HARM Targeting System). So basically, the Hornet is able to fire HARMs, but F-16 in this case is superior and will be better in SEAD missions once it's released. P.S. Even tho it's gonna be called "early access" or "open beta", Heatblur claims that it's gonna be more complete rather than incomplete.
-
We don't know for how long it's been under development already. Don't forget the Hornet is a test bed for a lot of new systems and implementation of them will be easier in upcoming modules. It will be more or less copy/paste (I did not say EXACTLY, so you can calm down before you bash me)

MB-339A/PAN by Frecce Tricolori Virtuali
=OPS=Slider replied to Jagg's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
That's impressive. I wish that every virtual aerobatic team was that kind to give their mods for community... Personally, Thunderbirds F-16 would be my choice, but that's not a thread for that. EFM is looking good. Looking forward to it :). -
Normally the -18 also has IFF displayed on radar screen but it's not implemented yet, that's why the name of this thread is "proper IFF when?" because we are still waiting for it. It's also the cause of many teamkills because this simple IFF (diamond and square) is bugged.
-
They gotta warm up (cool down actually), it takes 3 minutes. After that time you get the view from MAVs on DDI. To slew them, you have to HOLD DOWN TDC press button, and while holding it down you can slew the view around. EDIT: Revelation was faster.

LOL, I just checked this one out :megalol:. I'm on this forum more or less 1 time per day, just scrolling through threads and there is a lot of situations where I'm like "I don't even know what to say here..." and then I just keep going down the list. @RShackleford That ladder trick is not true. Maybe it works in DCS, who knows... In real life IFF is actually really simple (only the algorithm for it is top secret). It's like a conversation. You ask "friend or foe?" and you either get a response "friend" or nothing which means "foe" (enemy). Also in real life you can count on AWACS and ask them for confirmation if contact is friendly or not, and it happens quickly, in DCS it's gonna take some time...
-
That's why I'm slowly losing faith in humanity because of people like this guy (will-)... *joke* Svsmokey, cmon man, you didn't know that IFF is a hot/cold detector? Stop trolling mate, IT'S OBVIOUS. *joke* Seriously, it's the first time I heard something that stupid about IFF. So imagine a plane flying in circles and your IFF is going nuts because the target that you are locked on is going back and forth... If that would be the case IRL we would be seeing a lot of real life teamkills. Honestly I don't even know why we are trying to explain that to someone who thinks that IFF response is based on heading according to our position.

[REPORTED]FPS sometimes hit hard while in a F/A-18 C

RAlt+Pause/Break is enough. The rest as Fisherman82 said. -
[REPORTED]FPS sometimes hit hard while in a F/A-18 C
=OPS=Slider replied to Lange_666's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Oh well, I see it's a serious issue. I've experienced the same FPS drops as Vitormouraa. Huge FPS drop with shadows turned on (only low, but still big performance impact). With literally everything set to low and off (because I didn't know what else I could do, unless I turned off the shadows), FPS around 50-60 on the ground in the Hornet of course, on vJAG aerobatic server. After take off back to 150-170FPS. Actually the same is still happening on single player. Also as we are still talking about FPS in the Hornet. Recently for unknown reason my RAM usage went from 5GBs to 10GBs, causing really unstable FPS going from 90 to 20 every 0.5 seconds. Then RAM went back to ~5GBs and everything was back to normal. -
NOW AVAILABLE: Community A-4E-C Mod
=OPS=Slider replied to Merker's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
First of all, it should be like this C:\Users\bc366\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft and THEN A-4E-C folder. For me it looks like this C:\Users\Slide\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\A-4E-C and make sure inside of A-4 folder you've got all folders like bin, Cockpit, Liveries, Encyclopedia etc. When I first downloaded the mod, it got zipped, and was like this. Zip file called Community A-4E-C Mod, inside there was a folder called Community A-4E-C Mod, inside this folder another zip file with folder called A-4E-C (that's the one you should put in aircraft folder. -
You've created THIS thread, so what's going on, did I miss something???

NOW AVAILABLE: Community A-4E-C Mod

Great mod, it's finally here. Any tutorial on Shrike deployment, anyone? -
Well, Grab is No.6 Opposing Solo. PM him and you might get lucky :) His profile: https://forums.eagle.ru/member.php?u=70365 P.S. Last activity is from 2016 tho...

You can try and ask members of VBA (Virtual Blue Angels). I believe they have the exact info about the show that you want to get, because their airshow is a perfect copy of real Blue Angels display.

LOL, this logbook is really bugged :D. For me it says that I have spent 5 hours in 18. But what's better, it says I've got over 50 A2G kills and only 2 A2A, and I've got a screenshot from 2 days ago where I had 16 A2A kills :P. P.S. I've got the Hornet since the release and I fly it most of the time, like 95% ;).

About that "yellow warning" light previously mentioned. It was a master caution, and I bet it was due to inlet ice warning. It doesn't affect your plane in any way (for now), but IF it will get modelled it, you should be worried to not get this ice into your engine.

Has been said a couple of times on this thread. It was pushed to November because of some polishing.

Beginners Guide to DCS World Aircraft Mods
=OPS=Slider replied to RedBeard2's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Highlighted line literally says "Eye point" ;). Try to play with this. File Views.lua for M-2000C. And I also have a question. Is there a way to actually remove a cockpit from a mod? For example I have a mod that uses F-15s cockpit, but I don't want it to use any. -
Well, this is really helpful as I've always had a problem with mapping FC3 aircrafts. Now I have a question. What is the "Run-up brake"? Can someone explain? Not sure If I need it on my stick, instead of something more important.
