It would be nice to have the ability to spawn and despawn static objects, especially on carriers, from mission editor using triggers. This would allow mission editors to create busy scenery during takeoffs and landings but reduce overall system load once the airfield, carrier, or target zone is out of view.

Wait, so by your rational an unfinished early access module should no longer be updated with models that represent what would be a polished final product because the artists need to focus on new modules that are not released? I can understand working on some new models and then going back to update the current early access models, especially since the EA modules are still buggy and need work on the code side before they can even start coding new modules. Unless of course you have determined that the EA modules are done enough and the coders can move on to new modules now too.

Just out of curiosity when updates are pushed does the developer have an opportunity to test changes made? It seems like this, landing, would be something that would be a basic check to perform to make sure that any changes had no impact to the function of the flight model or the aircrafts systems.

The AI fly like this almost all the time when trying to maintain formation. The AI in my flight almost always are flying with at least 5 degree AOA higher than me to maintain position regardless of the speed I fly at. Its funny to see a plane in formation at 450 kts with 8 degree AOA. Possibly also why they burn fuel at so much a higher rate.

Are any of the numerous bugs on the list going to be addressed in the upcoming patch? I have not seen any information on this site mentioning anything in the upcoming patch that will resolve AV-8 issues. I must assume that they need more time to figure out how to code the fixes if they can even fix them.

If you place a very large number of static objects or a significant number of static and dynamic objects in mission editor DCS will crash. I made a template for the Persian Gulf map that has a few hundred objects and since the 2.5.6 update it crashes to desktop when loading.

I would not expect too much the team seems over their heads with projects at this time. Although, they are working on ships for the Falklands map so there is that.

Once I looked at RAZBAM outside of DCS it seems they're mostly a MSFS developer so expect their implementation to be similar to that system. I believe the Harrier is a port from their FSX module or at least the model is. I stopped flying it because things just don't work that well or at all once you get into the details. If you air start and drops some iron bombs in CCIP its a fine model with a clickable cockpit but don't expect to recreate the aircrafts operation in any sort of significant detail.

[RESOLVED]2.5.5+ Mission editor static naming stuck on "Ammo"
ruxtmp replied to Pikey's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
I am having the same issue. Wondering if this is why many of my missions wont load and just crash to desktop. -
After the last update I am really only hoping that ED starts working on ships and appropriate objects for the PG map. I have little confidence that mods will continue to work with updates and that the amount of time to support them by their creators will likely just see them not being able to be used.

Actually, yes I think this might be less buggy.

3D Objects users would like to d/l?
ruxtmp replied to salsantana's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Peace Ruby Radars or at least simple Radar Domes for use on the Strait of Hormuz Map. Also some oil super tanker ships and any other target type objects. -
No! Please for the love of all things good in this world no more new projects. Please finish your current EA products and correct the numerous bugs before even thinking about anymore projects. You already have made announcements for Mig-23 and F-15E that are extremely complex systems which will probably take years to develop to even a somewhat complete level. If your team at Razbam loves building models build targets and I will gladly by a $80 module if it is full of missing tanks, ships, vehicles, static buildings. The Persian Gulf map needs the most help with target objects, Iranian ones especially.
-
Can we get a working completed AV-8B Night Attack module before even hoping for a more complex version of it. At this point I am not even sure RAZBAM has the technical aptitude to build anything as complicated as the AV-8B+ as they seem to be struggling with this module as well as some of their simpler ones.

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)

There is a mod being made for the Super Hornet that will be AI. Go check the mods section of the forum. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
ruxtmp replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
A Super Hornet would be bad for business. Most would abandon purchasing the current F-18C Lot 20 module the instant it comes out. Personally what we need is targets and better maps. The Strait of Hormuz map is barely usable as no pertinent Iranian ships exist and not one reasonable supertanker. Also most of the period correct (80s-90s) AAA and some SAMs are missing, albeit they appear to be working on at least the SA-5. Not to mention the area of operations is detailed oddly on that map. Modern building that did not exist for the time period added, while airfields and radar sites are missing. I would rather see resources work on a content module then a new f-18. -
I miss this object too. It was a great simulator for the Peace Ruby radar sites on the SOH map. Still not sure why they were not part of the delivered map. I would try to build them myself they don't look that difficult but $1500/yr for 3ds max is too much for me and it sort of also explains why there are so few object addons being made by people.

Is anyone making any of the warships used by the Iranian Navy? The Strait of Hormuz map does not have many sea targets to attack or any mission editor addable tankers to defend. The Elynya tanker is way too small to be realistic in most scenarios. Warships that would be nice to have: La Combattante II Class "Kaman" Vosper Mk5 Class "Saam" US PF103 "Bayandor"

Id love to see some Navy call signs especially since the Hornet and Tomcat are in the pipeline. Felix, Fast Eagle, Fist, Gunstar, Rhino, Hawk, Hobo, Mace, Party, and Sting.

I downloaded and installed the countermeasure patch and still have no ability to add flares or chaff. The pulldown menu for each is grayed out. I assume ECM does not work as the A-7 is not equipped with ALQ-126 and ALQ-162 systems.
