This has been reported since the PB, EOM and RUK modes were released. the harm goes active too early, which causes this behavior. actually it should be 20nm before the TGT Point with RUK PB 10-15nm and EOM 5-10nm but this is not the case i think it is always 40nm before the target and the footprint is always too big

I think the problem is also that the boom is not physically simulated. Imagine the boom holds you in position very subtly or even slows you down

Yep, a little longer life and a little more burn time would make a lot of difference. Kinematically, our Aim120C could also fly 100nm, but the Lifetime is not long enough

yep but the window is much smaller, as I said. i took control and just changed the timing a bit, and the missile then hits the fast-rolling target. before the 15m update, the missile almost always flew past. i think that the exploit has been reduced a lot, so that it is no longer a problem. and also thanks to @Chizh for looking in and listening to our arguments. For my taste, it has become much better, especially Missile with a lot of energy is a real threat. At least in my tests. Is it still possible? Yes it is, but the crucial point in my opinion is that the risk is now far too high to use the exploit and that you are now more likely to be forced to Turn out. Before it was 95% or so to dodge a missile with 2-3M. But I'm curious to see what your results are. -

today's update, the proximity fuse of the AIM-120 is now 15m -
I don't know exactly how it works in the background, but aspect and proximity to other aircraft have an influence on the RCS. ED,RB,HB modules already take this into account, only payload has no influence on ED modules.

Mag sein, aber gibt enige schöne präsentationen zur F35 wenn es das alles allein zu DCS schafft, dürfte das schon mehr als aussreichen.

yeah i see. What about new modern ground radars or Awacs? Now that this door has opened, more modern sams and ground radars should also find their way to DCS ?

yes i looked at the numbers again and it seems to be more dramatic than i thought... the F117 can only be seen in dcs with the F18 from ~20nm and the F35 will probably have even better stealth capabilities... yes it will not be a fight. the mission creator could put the pylons on it that you can't remove as a player, that could make up for it. lol

That is the question... how big will the limitation be? should it be possible with the Eurofighter radar or also with the F15C/E radar to Lock the F-35 to max 40-50nm it could be challenging, are the values plausible, no idea? maybe you have a better estimate. nevertheless it is not invisible it just reduces the RCS enormously. or also how far can an Awacs see it how far would be plausible?

yes you could fire on Datalink contacts like this, but especially with the Aim120D Aim120C must remain in the host radar FOV for the M-Link

Why not both? In this case, the TDD triggers at 15m because it registers an object. The other cases remain dynamic if zero/negative closure can be registered.
