That's my guess too. I can't believe a few islands with a few buildings takes longer than giving us Afghanistan and Iraq. Maybe they're really just waiting for everything to be ready, map, modules, assets. Pure speculation, but maybe the Corsair is waiting to be part of this package too? Anyhow if this is the case I quite disagree, I'd prefer to have the modules as they are ready. We can practice flying the Hellcat on different maps to be ready for the WW2 Marianas when it comes. Or, I'd be happy to explore the WW2 Marianas in a P-47 waiting for the Hellcat to come. I remember the times when all I could do in a P-51 was shooting Doras over Novorossiysk, and DCS still became my favorite WW2 sim then and there.

Hey Jet, sorry I've just seen this. I just double checked the headings, and they're correct, they're the magnetic heading to the R/V point. There are many other variables though: crosswind factor, or maybe your directional gyro was off a bit to begin with? I always check it against the info bar after startup. As for the external tanks, you need the engine running above a certain RPM to drive the pump that feeds fuel from them. Idling at 1000 RPM is not enough. Anyhow, thank you for the kind words, I'm really glad you enjoyed the experience, and thank you for sharing your impressions. There are several great memoirs written by USAAF pilots, my favorites are Thunderbolt by Robert Johnson, Tumult in the Clouds by Jim Goodson and Ace in a Day by Wayne Blickenstaff. Good luck with your next campaigns, they may not offer as 'balanced' an experience as BNBOB does, because most of them are historical campaigns, while BNBOB is historical fiction. But hopefully you're going to like them even more because of it.

Wait...are you waiting for the crew chief to give you startup cleareance? Just flip every switch into the position mentioned by the message on screen. If the message doesn't disappear it's because you missed one of them.

It would also be nice to know the area covered.

Short review - excellent campaign
Reflected replied to Waffle 1-1's topic in P-47D Wolfpack Campaign
Thanks so much for the review, I hope you don't mind if I share it? You'll be happy to hear that in the next patch Wolfpack is getting a big update - lots of minor changes that make the whole thing more immersive -
Thanks! Should I not use OTT then? The headset has plenty of battery power left. Why did you set PD in both your Oculus app and debug tool? And different ones at that?
-
Can we please get an official word on this after nearly a year now?
-
I give up. I'm buying a new headset. Meta can go f themselves. This is totally unplayable like this.
-
Have you watched the video? The \ only works on the ground where you can speak to others without a radio. In the air you need to press the radio transmit button in your aircraft. It's not an ED nor an Ugra problem

I haven't heard of anything like that. Would be nice though.

There is no call from the leader. There is a briefed checkin time, you need to be ready by then that’s all.

OK it's driving me crazy. Apparently when the game freezes for a bit because of the GPU usage, sometimes the link connection gets degraded, and that's when it starts to happen. I could decrease the frequency of it happening by dumbing down my graphic settings, but still. DCS is silky smooth in VR already, but if a stutter/spike happens, it becomes a 240p youtube video. Meta is completely unable and unwilling to help. I'll never purchase a product from them ever again. their customer service is a disaster. I guess the VRAM leaks in DCS don't help either...

Maybe he had enough fuel? It’s a built-in wingman controlled by the built -in radio menu, I don’t have any power over him in the editor unfortunately. enjoy the campaign!

Should I play both arctic thunder campaigns at once?
Reflected replied to drizzt1700's topic in F-16C Arctic Thunder Campaign
If you have both I’d definitely say chronologically. There is a guide about it in the doc folder -
Mission 5 - F15 crossing runway on my short final
Reflected replied to Choffix's topic in Bugs and Problems
It 's not a skill issue for sure. Setting up a completely dynamic, AI dependent ATC system in the mission editor is not possible, however. And there have certainly been cases in the past where pilots did stuff they were not cleared to, or ATC controllers have had lapses of attention. All I'm saying is that you should never take anything granted just because someone told you so, that's one of the first things they taught me at flight school. Watch out for more unexpected events in the campaign. In all my missions I enjoy throwing evil curveballs at the players to test their problem solving skills and see if they are paying attention. This one could just as well have been intentional, but it wasn't -
Mission 5 - F15 crossing runway on my short final
Reflected replied to Choffix's topic in Bugs and Problems
Why should it be prevented? It could happen in real life too. A good pilot should fly the jet until the engine stops and not take anything for granted. I hope you added power and went around? BTW the time when the Eagles get home and the time you land are both VERY dynamic and totally unpredictable for me in the mission editor. Actually ,if I could add it to the mission on purpose, it's something I would do, just to test the player -
Please report it here, there's nothing in the mission editor that I could do to prevent a game crash (or to produce one for that matter) https://forum.dcs.world/forum/482-game-crash/

That's the point, there are no approach plates. It doesn't even have departure control. You take off, avoid overflying the town, then join the Nellis routes.
-
The first unit to spawn is followed by the camera. I spawn everyone else 1 second later.
-
Yes you are joining these routes from Indian Springs at ROCK / PIUTE. It's explained by your instructor too.

Happy to hear that!

Group going way too fast?
Reflected replied to Robobble's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Good to hear! Teah when the AI is trying to catch up it goes all out. the group will respect the briefed timings for setting course whether you’re ready or not. make sure your coolers are set to auto -
Group going way too fast?
Reflected replied to Robobble's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Wait: Climb or level flight? AI climb is hard coded. You need 61" and 3000 RPM there. Level flight - they never go faster than max continuous, usually quite a bit lower. You see, even if they go at max continuous, and you're lagging behind, it takes time for you to catch up even at mil power. we're talking about differences of 5-10 mph. Only judge the AI's power settings once you fly close formation on them. Your engine shouldn't quit btw, unless you're climbing too steeply and slow and you're overheating the engine. Or you forgot to switch the fuel pump on, or you put the mixture into emergency instead of auto. -
Using Reflected's base design as a template.
Reflected replied to Cjayster13's topic in Reflected Simulations
I think you can do that now that we have the multiple selection lasso tool. You can copy paste everything into a fresh mission.
