I can not set the ai’s power during climb only while cruising. And they’ll cruise below max continuous at that speed. You can play around with the mixture too during crossing the channel back to England. Remember, Boxted was a 100 miles further north IRL, that’s why I compensated by having only the emergency minimum in the aux tank. I never landed with less than 60-70 gallons during testing.

Hi @thrillho, thanks for the heads up. First of all, wow, you already made it to mission 9?! I just checked the triggers and found the issue: halfway through the campaign you get transferred to the 62nd, but I forgot to update the triggers that check whether you're safe or captured, they're still looking at Whippet Red 1 - which is an AI as of mission 6. I never noticed it because somehow Whippet Red 1 always made it home haha. I'll fix it ASAP and submit the new files to ED for the next update. Until then you can just use the skip mission button - or, protect Whippet red 1 at all cost Thanks!

Hitting ctrle e 3 times should get you out regardless the canopy. Sounds like some sort of assignment issue. Have you tried to bail out in oje of the instant action missions?

OK, let me try and make sense of it: First you come here to complain that I did NOT apply selective rigor when designing this mission, because as it is, it's too hard for you. And now you said, quote, "my selective lack of historical rigor"...excuse me? And the argument you're using to make a point is that 109Ks are flying over Normandy in 1944 (I applaud your expertise!) even though you, me, and everyone else who played 1h of DCS in their lives knows the difference: setting the exact time in the editor is possible, changing the 109K to a G is not. So much for my "selectiveness" (A sidenote for others reading this: I have tricks to tone down the 109K's performance, by adding weight, drop tanks that they won't jettison, and / or removing their MW50, so the performance difference should be marginal, and in a 30 vs 30 dogfight it matters very little) I know that nowadays we live in a world where people think if they accuse and attack loud enough, that's enough to win an argument, and they'll automatically be right. All you did was prove that you're one of these people, and I don't want to waste any more time on bullying contests where every accusation is a confession. I'm outta here, off to writing my self published book on Amazon -

What do you mean by the screenshot? I’m not changing the mission timing to something that’s not accurate. If it’s hard it’s not because of my choices or “business decisions”. That has mever been a factor. It was hard in real life - much harder actually. Check this out: the reason I build historical campaigns is so that I can learn from them. If a missions proves to be hard, I enjoy getting humbled and it just grows my appreciation and respect towards those who have done it for real. not all players think this way. Just because you paid for a history book, you don’t get to decide who won at Waterloo. -

Hey thanks for the feedback and the kind words. The load mission function sometimes doesn’t work for some people, it’s one of the mysteries of dcs. as for the rudder reversal, I have yet to perform one myself I just quoted the guys who did it, I’m not even sure it’s possible in dcs, it’s so far at the edge of the envelope. But maybe I’m just doing it wrong. Probably so.- 1 reply

Hey thanks for the heads up. The thing is: the 2 Normandy maps are compatible - so if a campaign is compatible with one, it should be mostly compatible with the other - except it will look worse with 1.0, and some units may be placed on trees and hedges. But the airfields and their functionality is the same. Wait, I just checked, and it says Normandy OR Normandy 2.0

Keep in mind that once you lag behind, even full power only generates a few knots of closure, which takes longer to catch up than you'd expect. It's a peculiarity of warbirds. Once you're in formation, then you can really see how much power the AI uses. Full power was only needed until this was implemented by ED:

Since the AI power improvement you almost never need to use 52" and 2700 RPM to keep up. Yes they slow down very quickly but every DCS AI has done so since I first played DCS in 2015. You can learn to anticipate it and add a little sideslip.

I thought about that. Like a basic training campaign. The problem is that I can't make the module optional and selectable, they're all so different. Otherwise I'd have to keep it at such high level that there would be little added value from buying the campaign. Having multiple required modules is a no go as well. Especially combat/ tactical trainings are really hard to do within DCS because the AI is hard coded to perform these in a given way. -

AH! Those used to have RN skins, but some new skins were added recently and for some reason they defaulted back to the US one. Talk about a PITA...I'm going to fix these and send to Mag 3.

You need to land accurately on the pad then there’s no problem. If you still notice something weird please send a track to ED because I can’t control the collision model of core statics from the mission editor. what do you mean you can’t contact the team? Fly sithin 2-3 miles of the mark on the f10 map and you’ll be offered an option to call them. But you have to be on the correct frequency. Check out some playthrough videos to see how it works.
