  1. I have to admit I have not looked that closely at the APACHE and SCAS? It didn't even occur to me to check it out. Thanks for your info. It confirms that the APACHE is doing everything right in principle and that it is ultimately a question of tuning. But that's what the BETA is also there and even in a published version would be such discrepancies no shame. The exchange that has arisen here now, shows on the one hand how great the DCS community is. Not only that you always get help, many deal very intensively with the topics and the accumulated knowledge is gigantic. Unfortunately, and therefore I hold myself back for a long time on the German forum, some confuse knowledge with understanding and some discussion then degenerates. Even my commercial pilot license and my time as a flight instructor do not make me an aerospace engineer. But neither does learning data and formulas by heart. After my experiences in relation to the APACHE, also in our squadron, this has an almost religious character and other than the official views or opinions are already something like blasphemy. Therefore the attempt to assess the situation in advance, before I bring about my own stoning with a video.
  2. The insight comes from an accident report, as is unfortunately so often the case. Therefore, public and important and I also assume that it is still part of the safety tring today. Unfortunately, it is also somewhat macabre and therefore very memorable. Who something sensiebler should therefore Ignore it. For the pilot, this did not change the sad result. However, the initially inexplicable situation eventually led to the resulting findings. The simple sounding solution to avoid such situations: Avoid low G situations and do not react to rolling movements, e.g. even in the case of strong gusts. The latter is a) much more difficult than it sounds. And b) as I can say from my own experience, it causes a very very bad feeling and requires a lot of trust in the aircraft. Even if there are upper limits for wind and gusts, specifically staggered according to flight experience, it is not recommended to test these limits. The aircraft does its job reliably and safely, I can say that. However, how the individual reacts in the situation is written in the stars and unfortunately too often then in an accident report.
  3. Hi bradmick. I can imagine that discussions about an unfinished flight model on which you do great work get on your nerves. Did not want to reignite a discussion about the flight model, but only point out that it has a physical background. Sorry that I'm a smartass, but if I now already know something. Thankfully, you have confirmed the effect. Whether he is currently much too powerful in DCS is ultimately a question of optimization and fine-tuning and certainly not easy. To judge when this is achieved, I leave to the people who have practical experience. However, it would be a pity if the effect, since it is already there, were to disappear completely just to avoid discussions.
  4. @RodBorza You are a flight Instructor? Thank you for your detailed explanation. I was not sure if it is really so obvious, and I am storm tested in this regard. Your explanation does not quite hit it, but already very close to it. Every airplane and helicopter has its own peculiarities. This may be one of the APACHE. Pressing the cyclic hard will cause a short but drastic change of the angle of attack. In addition, the round rotor surface becomes an oval, which also has a strong effect on the airflow. In conjunction with the gyro precision, this probably leads to a roll to the left. If the maneuver is performed slowly and carefully, the effect is probably reduced by flapping. Skilled helicopter pilots are not tempted to do this because they are less hard on the controls and use the collective to sink. However, the tail rotor moving up over the rotor head would result in a right roll. This effect should be well known to all R22 and R44 pilots, as it is explained pictorially in the Safety Course. For all those who think angel of attack and flapping are abstract terms, a video would be the best way to illustrate and explain this. But good that I asked, why probably, so I can save myself the effort.
  5. @Mausar Thanks, I know the video. Nevertheless, there is a physical explanation for this. Why Casmo did not make the experience in DCS and RL, he has explained. Some things you don't do.
  6. Is there interest in a video that explains why the Apache rightly rolls to the left when the cyclic is pushed forward? Ask this because it is quite elaborate and the cause as I think wrong in the beta status and the flight model was found.
  7. Yes, this is late, but it is also for a good reason. As a commercial pliot I find no satisfaction in missiles, lasers or video screens with IR function. The APACHE in DCS is in the Beata and still being worked on heavily. It is already a great module but there is a reason why the flight model is not the first priority of the developers behind the electronics and weapons. This first part is about what I like about helicopters and what is slowly but surely coming back to DCS. Of course you should not forget that we are talking about 6.5 to 9.5 tons, depending on the equipment. Like that of many others, my image of the Apache was mainly determined by the movie Fire Birds in the German version Airborne-Wings of Steel with Nicolas Cage. This mighty power flying fortress a fat SUV of the skies armed to the teeth.
  8. @Gianky Thank you for giving the campaign a chance. Depending on how much experience you have with campaigns and the Uh-1 you will have some positive but also at first sight negative experiences, because the missions are challenging not only because of their duration. If something is unclear, something does not work as you think you will find many helpful videos on our channel, but feel free to contact me directly. Here in the forum, or better via DISCORD I am easy to reach and help where I can. One tip I can give you in any case. You are in the army, so thinking for yourself is not always helpful. Just listen to your commander.
  9. According to initial reports from the DISCORD group, replacing the file seems to fix the problem in 3 out of 4 cases.
  10. NEED HELP FOR A FAST SOLUTION It would be great if someone could replace the file in the directory C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\UH-1H Worlds Apart Spring 2025 with the file in the attachment and test whether the campaign appears after a DCS restart then with him again? Thanks in advance WORLDS_APART_Spring_2025.cmp
  11. @GrafRotz Thank you for the quick reaction. Reale seams to be a problem wit my Server, providing false time and date information to my computer.
  12. At any new start of DCS Beta i get that info. Error code 500 Authorization / Use saved configuration But it is always only DCS without any module that comes up after that with the 2 days timeframe. No problem to login to my DCS account on the ED website.
  13. And again, a year comes to an end, and it's time to say thank you. Thank you for your support and especially your patience, which is unfortunately also, at the moment, in DCS but the one or other time quite strained. Wish you all happy holidays and a blessed new year.

  14. Unfortunately, we have no influence on what and when ED includes in the updates. Even if we have provided everything in time, the problem has not been fixed with today's hotfix. Mission 4 was not replaced either, so this bug still exists. We hope for the New Year and still wish a lot of fun for all those who work with the Workaraund.
  15. It happens to all of may missions , regardless of the map (actual Caucasus) when they get more complex. At the beginning, still be able to work in ME vor 2 or 3 minutes, but when adding more units, at some point I am not able to start the mission in the Editor anymore. Loading an older version and than the new one again it may help to get back into the Mission Editor, but not for long. AMD 6900XT
  17. I am very sorry that there are problems with the campaign. It was forgotten to adjust the paths in a modified cmd file to the location in the game. We can't change anything ourselves because of the copy protection. IMMEDIATE REMEDY Nevertheless all missions of the campaign can be played. 1. start the single mission by calling it from the mission editor. OR 2. copy the complete campaign into your MY GAMES folder But I can't say if your progress will be taken over. The actual bug has been reported to ED and will be fixed as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
  18. Update is still running for me, but I will check it on Saturday.
  19. @Scarecrow Unfortunate I can confirm the problem in Mission 4. The actual behavior of ground units even breaks the time controlled "safe trigger". Will find a way around and send a new version after the weekend to ED. Thank you for the notice and your passions.
  20. @Scarecrow There should be a safety trigger implemented. If the guy did not find the trigger zone the mission has to move forward after 1 or tow minutes I know it is a pain if that happens right in the middle of the mission. Check the radio Menu F-10 as well if there is a continue mission option. Any conversation during his journey to the bridge and back? I will check the mission as well, but unfortunate it is to late for tomorrows update. But you will get some information about bypasing the mission tomorrow.
  21. MISSING THE MALBORO MAN Besides the technology, are you interested in flying and freedom in all dimensions and the skills you need as a helicopter pilot ? But you also want to know how to behave and make the right decisions. If you think of helicopters and think of autopilot and stabilization systems as crutches, horses and cavalry and not screens and menu trees, then this might be for you. The AIRMAN at the Black Angels is a squadron internal award which can be transferred to all helicopter SIMULATOR-PILOTS, also outside of DCS. It is open to everyone, regardless if you are interested in a squad or not or you a member of a different squad. Probably everyone asks themselves at some point the question, how well does "the training" theoretically prepare me for flight in a real helicopter. This is independent of the membership in a real life squadron, in which strategy, tactics, and radio play a major role beyond prescribed tests. On the one hand it is about the control of the helicopter concerning the steering and the technical side, on the other hand it is about how maneuvers like take-off and landing are carried out safely. In Real Live there is no "restart function" like in the simulator, which is often overused there. At the Black Angels, we teach these basics, in particular during training. By taking the AIRMAN exam, based on the "Practical Test Standards" of the FAA (US aviation authority), everyone can determine for themselves how well they have internalized these basics and can implement them. Whether and how the pilot implements and applies what he has learned on the PC can only be judged by an "expert", in the best case a real life flight instructor. The test situation itself increases the realism and the value of the test considerably. You want to register for the test and or have questions, visit the LLH BLACK ANGELS on DISCORD https://discord.gg/aqwzv2P and contact @Grizzly / ADMIN or send me a Direct message here.
