  1. Panther, If we get trap fuel on the external wing tanks, (for example if we are on AB to long and the internal wing tanks empty before the externals) can we get the fuel out of the external tanks or will the fuel stay trap?
  2. Thank Panther, always good to hear form one of the few of us still working on the F-16
  3. If you press TDC down (action position) you are telling the aircraft:"I want to attack this" Since the aircraft gets its most accurate targeting information from the DMT, it will try to switch to it. If the TGP is on the right MFD, DMT will supersede it. How to avoid this? - Don't press TDC down (action) is not needed to target with TGP or - Have TGP on Left MFD or - Do not press TDC down (action) withing DMT Field Of View (FOV, i.e. Target 90° offset from the nose) The way I do it: - Aircraft on A/G mode - Find target with TGP in HMS mode. Just have the target at the center of the TGP screen (crosshair) no need to press TDC down (action) - IRMV Rdy - Switch TGP to TDC - maneuver aircraft so target is in HUD FOV - Uncage IRMV - Select IRMV as your main sensor - Change FOV zoom in IRMV page if needed - Press TDC down (action position), if target have high enough contrast IRMV will lock to it (crosshair collapse on target). If IRMV does not lock, continue to fly towards the target ( no need to dive, just stay withing IRMV FOV ) - Once IRMV locks, press and hold weapons release until missile fires.
  4. To me this is fun. Talking about the F-16. Bring on the questions guys. Worst it could happen we don't know the answer. Hopefully more people will join the conversation. Shadow, Thanks. Talking about a mess, we where working on a B system pump ( one of the many TCTO) an one of the guys forgot to dump the pressure from the accumulator before disconnecting some of the lines. So while working he lean on the dump valve and got cover from head to toes (literary) on hydraulic fluid. Thankfully he did not hydraulic fluid skin injection, that would have been very bad.
  5. Yes Just starting the engine. Pilots do started in the air in some emergencies but if the JFS fails to start you just used your emergency braking.
  6. OghswuegVTA From 3:09 to 4:26 is the full flight control check At 3:22, the pilot turn on the bit check. You can tell because the flapperons move up At 4:10 the pilot turn on the digital back up to test the flight control, quickly followed by the normal check At 4:30 is the brake check
  7. This is good guys, any more question? I might not know the answer but some one here might.
  8. Esto es lo que yo uso http://www.gcmap.com/
  9. Short answer: Start 2 not always used. Pilot like to use it but I started the jet on Start one, specially when doing maintenance in case it does not start the first time. Long answer There are two JFS/Brake accumulator (with a 200 in³ capacity). Moving the the start switch to 1 will use one of the accumulators. Start 2 will use both. Start 2 in only require OAT between -25°F (-32°C) and 20°F (-6°C) or OAT above 100°F (38°C). By using Start two, you give the JFS more time to start. How does it do that? Using start 2 allows the Engine Starting System Controller (ESSC) or the Digital Engine Starting System Controller (DESSC) to use both accumulator to spin the Hydraulic Start Motor (HSM, this is used to spin the JFS to starting speed). Start 2 will have a larger and longer flow of hydraulic fluid to the HSM, giving more time for the JFS to start.
  10. Lets talk About DCS F-16, does anyone have F110-GE-129 experience? How different it is from GE-100 during start for example? Here is the -100 start ( no operational checks, just the engine start portion)
  11. USAF Block 25 have come a long way from inception
  12. I just saw this and LOL April 26 to 28 2019 was a great weekend
  13. The "Flu" or Catching up with Season 8?
  14. I send you a PM. Talking about other sims here wont tell us anything useful about DCS F-16.
  15. So no manual title? No paper title? ok thanks
  16. Rule 1.16 tells us : Posting images, file links, and file sharing links of military aircraft documents newer than 1980 is strictly prohibited on our forums. Such posts will be removed. But it does not say you can't tell us the manual title that tells you missile can do this. So where do you get this info? I am dying to know.
  17. In the last few years, I have only seen display /demo flight without weapons on station 1 and 9. The missile rail has to be carried in flight.
  18. I have not seen the reason on any manual. The net reasons typically goes around the flutter, example: http://www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20308
  19. Based on the fact that almost every video or photo of the USAF F-16 in the last 10 years shows it carrying a CATM-120/AIM-120 on the wingtip, I say that is a myth. I do not know any weapons capabilities or limitations.
  20. Do you mean like on this video at 2:03, 2:37, 2:43, and 3:01 ZhRhEoeJ1Zk or jgUwjpopeLY?start=102 1:42
