  1. presumably the original map spec is a sub-set of EDGE....or rather EDGE is an evolution of the original map spec. ...think of it like how your fav FPS game can render using DX9 or DX11.... or in another way, think of every "feature" that the original map supported that needs a data structure to support it also exists in EDGE, but there is also new additional data available that can be used by a more modern renderer to generate better visuals. You can infer from this that Nevada could be available to be drawn "old style" I'd say. of course, they could just have 2 completely non co-incidental engines...but I doubt it
  2. hmm..yeah, sorry that was it..Devils Cross
  3. there is an excellent series talking about the iron Cross campaign (downloadable)..mission by mission... Have a search here on the forums.. there's also youtube vids of the same the Georgian hammer campaign is pretty advanced for a beginner...
  4. ...anyone know how to structure an export module / plugin for Blender?
  5. hmm..in theory can already be done with "group in zone"..?
  6. wonderful!.....flight sim as art
  7. ...guess you guys'll be missing out then...
  8. Current AI of friendly AFM units (say A10c) is pretty good... I believe he uses all sensors as a player would (probably slightly simplified, but within the same parameters at least).. I don't think that having AI take one of the seats is a technical challenge for ED...and the command structure could / would flow just like the F2 radio menu... So...at a guess, I'd rekon the only thing stopping ED doing a 2 seater, is the fact that they have other stuff to do first! (or do they?!...who knows what the next unit will be!)
  9. ...because it's like christmas eve every day here at the mo' ;)
  10. ^^ hmm..thats a shame...I cant comment on the g940 as I dont have one but....can you not alt-tab out and change the profile within whatever Logitech use to profile the stick? I know, at least with the x52, you can hold down the Clutch button (button 36) to then use the POV hat to navigate through available profiles (small gui drawn in the LCD ) and change them dynamically..
  11. I cant believe you managed a 2 wheel no bounce landing after like...what...1 or 2 days with the sim? :(
  12. Hi Max, Yes, there is a manual from FC2 I believe... there has been a number of posts here about this, and in several of them are links to where to download the appropriate manual ...sorry, don't have the links to hand, but have a search on this forum and you should find pretty quick,
  13. I have given incorrect info here! ... I do apologize, what I meant was, you can fly the 25t for free, and online with the P51 / other 25t's assuming you have a P51, A10 or KA50 key.. sorrysorrysorry...typing too soon after a strong coffee earlier!
  14. yes IF you have a BS2 or A10 key, and have installed DCS_World *edit* ... damn it...engage brain...^^ the above is false! Cannot do untill A10 / KA50 are patched into DCS:World...sorrysorrysorry
  15. Not to be an apologist, but please do not be expecting CryEngine quality SDK / Tools.... the ED team is tiny, and have a micro-fraction of the budget of someone like CryTek Any tools they release will be for serious business, and would probably be CLI only , or work with 3rd party software via plugins.. I would not personally expect to see any drag-n-drop interfaces, or "realtime" anything.. However, developing tools / an SDK is still a major step forward, and I'm sure anyone who is serous about it will be able to generate some great stuff!
  16. well...you can use triggers and flags to build a logical timer...though it'll only be accurate to the evaluation frequency of the "timeSince" trigger... still, can be done ...I built a clock in DCS once using a truck driving in a circuit through a trigger zone repeatedly ;)
  17. ^^ although this would cause a jump in the net position of the "throttle" if WEP was enabled at any position other than 0 (assuming it were a button press). I wonder (and I am just speculating here too, I do not know what the plans are) if the gross physical throttle axis will cover the WEP portion as well, but will be "soft" gated to a value of 85% (just a random figure there, no idea what portion of the throttle play is added by crossing the WEP gate), and then pressing the WEP button will un-gate the last 15% of the axis ...? I think that would work... pit builders would need to set a physical gate which does a switch once the throttle crosses it, and acts as the key press.. HOTAS users can set a band in their software of choice to do the same thing...
  18. ...its allll about the ridiculous detail really ;)
  19. Trackir goes a long way towards bringing the logic back to a cockpit in DCS though
  20. if your using gmail, check your spam box, as the news letter is getting flagged as spam..
  21. I'd think releasing info on the dcs:next would steal the thunder from dcs:pony .... I've no more info than anyone, but I'd say they'll probably wait till after pony is released to start talking about another module. ....+ don't forget about Nevada update and also combined arms
