[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
hannibal replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
hey simshaker team can you guys add the doorgun effects to the mi24p hind kord doorgunner? when i fire the kord, i do not feel any shaker effects or vibration. but it is working well for the mi8mtv2 kord doorgunner. please update on next aviators release @f4l0 @=Andre= Added @Flappie if this is something on ED side -
i would very like to see the F10 map coordinates LALT+ Left mouse click function as a joystick assigned mapping in the UILayer for DCS Controls. as a VR user, ive become less dependent on using the keyboard when i can. i can manage to let go of my joystick and use mouse and have my other hand on hotas. but with this F10 map function, i have to completely release both my hands from my HOTAS in order to hold Left ALT and mouse click PLEASE ADD F10 map coordinates as a joystick mapped function!! morrrr VR QoL

Yet another doorgun controller 3d printed joystick project! (Version 4)
hannibal replied to hannibal's topic in Input Devices
amazing!! wow your going for both builds? the smaller form factor pistol grip is great for my motion platform. you got through the tough part of printing them out. two other areas of difficulty are (1) mounting the hall effect sensor, especially for the pistol grip version and (2) wiring for the bass shaker (if you are adding one) the relay box is if you are to add a bass shaker, you will need relays AND wire the trigger so that it controls relay coils to turn on/ off - NOT part of the button maxtrix ( instead wire up the trigger input as part of the relay the relay out put) the reason for this because if any audio shake telemtry comes out of simshaker, it will activate the shaker even though you are not firing the doorgun control. example... you are on the huey, and you fire your mini guns, hence there will be shake. but if you dont include the relay wiring, if the pilot fires the side mounted flex guns, then your controller will also shake.... i will try to make a sketch wiring diagram for the trigger & relay when i have a chance... GREAT JOB.. once complete.. its fun as hell @Hawkeye60- 20 replies

nice. what funky things is your proto type doing?

i have long moved away from the tedac project. i see that Assamita is selling / sharing tedac files based on some of my design and others. conversely, komodo is developing a tedac if someone does not want the agony of building and want a professional contols https://komodosimulations.co.uk/collections/komodo-tedac/products/ah-64d-apache-tedac i am currently designing a simple doorgun controller to share to the masses! im trying to share the design for free befor 2.9 is out. keep a look out! those who were able to build the controllers, i have to say, they work pretty well for the F15E WSO seat!

I have the high contrast / lighting problem when looking at F10 map then going back into cockpit. But after a min the lightning levels out to normal

ok. will work with my coworker to see if any of the suggested solutions can solve his control issues. much appreciated! you always come in on the 11th hour @admiki lol thanks! thats an interesting fact about the yaw/heading autopilot channel @Flappie will check out video @kotor633! thanks everyone.. will check back... about the control helper.. @Flappie it was this thread that i started that some one said control helper will affect hind controls... if it is the "show control indicators", its more clear if it is called just that, even though in the DCS settings under MISC already covers whether the "show controls indicator" to be on or off when in game.. who knows when i have it cleared i was able to fly hind normally.. maybe i have to try turning this option on (after work) to see if in fact this option is about the "show controls indicator"... will check back on this too!

im trying to help my coworker. he is experiencing difficulty controlling the mi24p in a behavior i experienced a few months back, and solved it by going into the mi24p special options and clearing the option for Control Helper. i had him clear this option before, but he still experiencing difficulty controlling the aircraft. as copilot gunner i can see on the show controls indicator that he is applying way to much input, but IRL he has his joystick centered. any ideas, anyone? note, he also has the apache, and all his controls work ok for that module.

today i had my first flight as copilot gunner for my coworker as pilot he is trying to get familiar with the mi24p not bad run today, was able to ATGM on some armor, and use up all the rounds for the Kord as gunner. alot of fun! kord rounds can go quick. my coworker has to learn to control the hind, he comes in way to fast. but amazing module.. everything works great for this dcs module. thanks ED and the team!

Yet another doorgun controller 3d printed joystick project! (Version 4)
hannibal replied to hannibal's topic in Input Devices
Step one, print parts Step Two: Acquire diodes switches potentiometers, usb controller board and buttons! step three : solder Diodes and wires to switches. Pay attention to diode polarity and orientation step four. Solder wires to potentiometers, buttons and switches step five: take riser and screw the rise to the switch/button housing using the plastic thread forming screws. Step six : mount buttons and switches to the switch button housing Step seven, screw pots on to the pivot fixtures Step eight: merge wires as per wiring diagram to electrically form button matrix for USB controller board. Solder and heat shrink if u have skill, if not twist wires together and cover with electrical tape. connect dupont connectors or solder wires to wires with dupont connectors connect pins to USB controller board as wire diagram posted above and assemble base cover- 20 replies

I will be looking at designing a super simple easy build of a joystick device in anticipation for Mi8 (and future CH47) doorgun joystick support functionality, after the heels of amazing joystick support for doorguns on the UH1H and Mi24P. My first design goal achieved a controller that resembled the M134 minigun. The Second design attempted to find a smaller form and to resemble the M2 browning, but unfortunately it was still too big to mount on a motion platform. My third design goal achieved a smaller form to successfully mount on my motion platform. after hearing news that Mi8 will at some point have joystick support for the doorguns, it has now inspired me to try to design a super easy 3d build for a joystick that will control the doorguns. i hope the design will be something that people would be able to make, so that it not only brings some additional immersion to the DCS virtual reality doorgun experience, but maybe push future modules to support the feature and experience! Although mouse works great for Mi8, SA342, Mi24P and UH1H doorguns, its not as immersive and sometimes you just get that "Window out of focus" message DCS + VR headset + controllers is truly amazing. More news to come here. Thank you ED Team! The UH1H doorgun position successfully supports the virtual reality and joystick support for the past years and i am grateful that i can experience the UH1H doorgun position with VR headset and a joystick. player view decouple and joystick binds for doorgun slew axis being the most prominent feature. THank you
