  1. I guess the problem is being a Rio is not that simple and there are multiple different scenarios. I guess ine solution you are kind of looking for is an HCU overide for the front cockpit along with a next target button so you can prioritize the target you like and hook and ground stabilize wherever you like. In fact I guess a bind that would turn your controls into whatever you have the RIO stuff bound to would work. I will admit if I am in the front I hide the stick (backspace by default ) most of the time so that I can clearly see the TID. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  2. Fri it's not artificial the 360 degree top down view is called ground stab and is available to everyone and part of the system. While I agree Jester just leaves it positioned with your aircraft in the middle it still works very well for geometry and SA in the front. Here is my YouTube of how it's used Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  3. Try telling Jester to go ground stab I normally use indefinite time unless I will crank soon. This puts you in the middle of the screen like the top down view you want and with the link it is very similar to the SA page. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  4. Big trees trick your brain into thinking it's lower than it is, you expect more ground rush than you get so it feels slower than you expect. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  5. My flameout was in a hot jet trying to get the weight down to 58k. Just using the rearm refuel window. I definitely feel the weight as described by Ironmike. We just hit the tanker after takeoff yesterday on Hoggit but still ended up doing a speed brakes in DLC out pattern. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  6. Not sure what you mean by Real low level flying , the video you show looks about right but the FOV makes it feel different from real.life. He looks to be about 250 feet most of the time which is NATO standard. I have a fair amount of time at low level in real life tho not as much as our GR1 brethren. Your problem appears to be the FOV as already mentioned and as I mentioned earlier the trees in the Caucus make it a bit odd. Before low level flying in Alaska we were warned that some of the ranges had areas where a lot of the trees are very small so don't fly so low as to make them look normal. 7. It looks about right to me tbh I use a Rift S now it's surprising how slow 420kts at 250ft feels in a Jet. I will admit the enormous DCS trees may warp the feeling a bit, but overall it seems about right to me. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

    Recorder

Huh really you can't just record you screen ? It's way better than the real life video recording from the old tape on these jets. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  9. Hmm interesting I have only found a problem when I have a heavy launch weight. So IronMikes explanation worked for everything I had seen. Launching semi light and hitting a tanker makes it handle ok, tho I did have the engines flame out when I tried to defuel to 4000lbs which seems like a big but not one worth reporting as wth would want to defuel a full jet to 4k lol for some reason it emptied the main tanks 1st flamed out both engines genes went offline doh. So I kicked my squad mates from the server and edited the loading , bug solved [emoji2955] Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  10. Guys read IronMikes post whatever you take off with is your landing weight. Yes it sinks like a brick cos the game thinks you weigh 70+tonnes. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for that info I must admit I assumed that the radar made no difference as the PK seemed about the same if I kept contact or not. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  12. Did you do your mission prep the missile button up in the panel below the HUD Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  13. It's a DCS thing shoot at 40 and turn away they still track not Heatblurs problem it's a DCS thing as I understand it. In order to make it Fox3 capable it had to be active from the rail no matter the range. Until ED let Heatblur reprogram it. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  14. I filed a bug 2 days ago they are investigating as they had already noticed something wrong. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  15. FYI they are active off the rails atm till fixed so lock doesn't matter. Seemed same to last time out tho.maybe a server lag problem. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  16. F14 is great but the hard work is done in the back which makes it easy in the front with Jester at least until you get to the dogfight part or land it on the ship. If you have someone to fly with then the 14 can be way more rewarding than probably any other module but if you are on your own 90% of the time then get the F18c. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  17. We always flew locked unless we were goofing off at low level. Yep just used the force it was easy for us cos the probe was on the correct side. [emoji16] Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  18. Hey chaps just a quick note but you can fly in a straight line with the ball out by counteracting it with wing down. I never trim the rudder for the probe. The GR1 was just too short so they probably needed to [emoji6]. In the sim if you are looking at the tanker and formation flying then you are probably slightly cross controlled but it doesn't really matter for the short period you will be tanking for. 19. I posted my observations as a bug and Ironmike just came back and said that they had noticed the same thing and were investigating. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the very fast response. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  21. Hmm thanks I will try the repair 140 sounds right at that temp . My old instructor would kill you for using PPH and not N1 ( he did me on the T38 [emoji849]) thanks for testing. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  22. Ok my track doesn't playback right but the beginning looks OK when I replay it. Downwind on an ISA day Jet weighs almost exactly 50k I emptied the gun and 6K of fuel. On speed AOA appears to be 145kts whereas NATOPs has it at 130. This seems to be since the last update and on a hot day in PG at 50K you almost need Mil power downwind. Am I missing something ? 50K_ISA_day.trk
  23. Thanks Kaba for these missions I used number 5 as the basis for my RIO training as the initial geometry is such a pain. in case you are interested.
  24. No problem ended up talking about this in 2 places I am gonna put a track together and make a new post in bugs. As others are seeing the same thing. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
  25. Fella did you read my post ? I know that's the normal pattern I was on a PG map it was hot and my in speed was 155 with little residual thrust speed brakes out. This means that I was almost max dry to maintain level onspeed. With an on speed of 135 what was your weight and temp and pressure ? Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
