Thank God it's not just me. Its been driving me mad setting up a troop pickup. The troops are waiting at the waypoint, but there is no named group to pickup in the radio menu. I thought I'd forgotten some vital step. The troops are just standing around a disabled Huey, looking at me fat, dumb and happy.

It's a DCS issue.

One of the latest steam vr updates has turned off reprojection. You will need to go into the steam vr files to comment and uncomment the reprojection settings again.
-
Pretty sure it's a steam vr issue too. I have been having a few "steam vr has encountered an unforseen problem and has shut down" messages recently. This leaves the monitor and DCS working and the headset dead.

They look to be standard micro Molex connectors. Any good hobby shop specialising in RC planes should have them. Look up Hobbyking. Be aware however that using the hobbyking site can be a somewhat trying experience. I think it is designed by a ten year old. https://hobbyking.com

[DCS ISSUE] Ground crew can't comply when engines in idle
Tinkickef replied to Kappi's topic in Bugs and Problems
Nah. I just drag the power and air carts round the taxiways. By the time I reach rotate speed on the runway, they have usually fallen off. The chief just yells " Hey waddayadoing" and slinks away to fill out several reams of government forms in triplicate. And Jester darkly warns that the boss is gonna have my butt for this. Otherwise, it's all good. :) -
[RESOLVED] SLOW FPS on RIO seat after 2.5.6 update
Tinkickef replied to Renko's topic in Bugs and Problems
I feel your pain. Also seeing huge frame drops on the ground at AlDhafra airbase (VR) from the front seat. Anything before and after 11 o clock and 1o'clock is a slideshow. If it helps, I lost all nav but the standby compass on a mission and switched off all the displays. When I landed, everything seemed fine. So maybe it's something with the displays that has broken. -
In cockpit and moonlight. Yellow painted objects in shadow, such as the surrounds of the fire handles and the canopy jettison handles have thousands of bright blue lit speckles, pretty much the same colour as the taxiway lighting. FXO and Metashader folders deleted before starting up DCS, so not that.

Confirmed, power and air will not disconnect when asked (F14). -

Confirm I have it with the F14. -
As have I. I watch this thread with interest, I feared I had jumped the gun when the notification of the shipment arriving appeared on here. I wished I had waited before setting my CC fraud department on the case..... However, the seesaw has once again swung the other way... Some people on here have the patience of a saint..... This has all the makings of a scam. Just finished restoring a 22 year old motorcycle, so I have the costs involved with that to build back up in my piggy bank, then I will order a Jetseat from Andre.

I see the briefing room will be modelled which is great, but how do you get from the ready room to the flight deck? It would be great - esp for VR users to be able to walk through the ship, onto the flight deck, find your tail number and climb up the ladder into the cockpit. I think this was once talked about before, can't remember if it was Heatblur or ED that mooted it. We can already walk around on land, but it would be nice to be able to enter and post mission, exit the cockpit without ejecting. Perhaps an animation triggered by a button bind for deck crew to place a ladder and the pilot body to stand up, climb over the side and down the ladder where you take control again; and Pre mission, climb up the ladder, animation triggered by walking up to the base of it, when entering the cockpit.
-
This is correct.

It'll work. Heatblur is Heatblur and they will do everything they can to make it work. Meanwhile Wags said the ball is in their court. HB said they are getting rudimentary trap info from DCS which implies they have been given access to the development model of SC to work with. People are panicking as if HB and ED are sworn enemies and SC will never be compatible with the F14 because ED will withhold tech details to prevent it. HB and ED are not enemies, they are close business partners and will do whatever is necessary. This thread is a non issue. When SC has been released and downloaded onto customers PCs and has issues with the F14 not compatible with it, that's when it's time to get salty. Not now. I have a lot of faith in HB and have a lot of faith in Wags, therefore I am not concerned yet. Only feeling I have at the moment is pleasure at the 50% discount I got and it should be the same for everyone else. That is the only interaction any of us will have until launch date, therefore this non issue affects no one other than the devs at this moment in time.

My faith in Realteus is irretrievably broken. Funny how pictures of boxes suddenly appear when people have started contacting their bank's fraud departments. There is nothing in those pics to put a date to them. Had I not contacted my credit card company for a refund, now I would be wondering how Realteus propose to handle any warranty issues and if they would quietly disappear once all the units had been dispatched. At the moment I have other fish to fry, but when the time comes to look into PC peripherals again, I will go with Andre. My buttkicker will just have to do for a few more months.

I left a little comment.....

Agreed, plus sound of engines increases with open canopy.

Another 2080TI Bites The Dust.....
Tinkickef replied to Tinkickef's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
New card arrived, has been fitted and working. I've set up a really aggressive fan curve instead of relying on the stock GPU tweak 2 one. It is running fans at 100% over 50c. Currently the temp within DCS on the mission which first started to overtax the old card is holding steady at 54c, whereas the original card ran at 74c. I've tuned it using the ASUS GPU tweak 2 automatic overclock scanner, but other than that I am not going to mess will th it, although from what I gathered from YouTube tests by Jay2Cents and Steve from Gamers Nexus, the supplied tuners will not let you do anything to harm the card supposedly with hard limits on voltage ect. We will see how this one does. I hope I got one with the newer Samsung memory and not one with the original and problematic Micron VRAM. My poor, abused old GTX 980TI ran for over two years at a really overclocked to the knife edge of instability using a cheapo Corsair CX750 psu without problems and from the same wall socket..... It is not a power issue, just bad memory chips in the original batch. I am not the luckiest guy when it comes to gambling and I guess I just keep failing to win the silicon lottery this time around. -
Broken promise after broken promise after yet another broken promise. Sorry I am not buying it. Paperwork arrived from a major credit card fraud department this morning after my refund and it is getting filled out tomorrow. I'm done with realteus.

Another 2080TI Bites The Dust.....
Tinkickef replied to Tinkickef's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Retailer has tested the card and found it faulty. Instead of sending it back to ASUS for repair and another three month wait, they are dispatching a new one immediately, so hopefully it will be here early next week. They are treating it as a new order, even has the price paid on their system as if I paid for it, (but nothing to pay) so warranty reset to day one. I hope it is one from a late batch with the kinks ironed out....... -
My opinion and one I held for a while now is it was essentially a type of ponzi scheme, where he needed to order a minimum amount of units for a factory to be interested.. let's say 500 units. He did not have the money to put out up front so he took pre orders. Unfortunately he did not get near 500 "investors" this time around and there was insufficient funds to place the order. All this "making improvements at the factory that is holding things up" in my view were all lies. He likely did not ever intend to advise the factory to begin production until he had 500 orders, hence the last big push where he changed the wording on his site from pre order to "pledge". I reckon this was to make it look more attractive to alternative finance options. I reckon that finance deal fell through because the bank realised what a scheme he was running, not pledged money, but he was holding onto innocent customers actual money. I really do believe he intended to deliver and did not intend to con anyone, but got caught up in his own web of deceit as he tried to cover up his failing business. He simply could not afford for anyone demanding a refund, so started making fraudulent statements so as to not discourage new customers signing up. Trouble is, it appears he has now done a runner with the cash he did bring in. He had a poor and risky business model with no failsafe option and turned himself into a criminal through constantly making untrue statements in order to reach his 500 goal. Just my opinion.

Money refunded by credit card company. They requested I keep hold of all the printouts of the invoice and receipts ect, plus the emails and non delivery receipt from outlook I made; to help any future investigation. Been doing a bit more digging into this character. He allegedly owned Gametrix until a couple of years ago, or says he did and allegedly has a degree from Southampton university in marketing. He is no clueless gamer that had a great idea but not the knowledge to run a business.... https://uk.linkedin.com/in/tomasjandecka

Just sent an email of my own demanding a refund within seven days. Email could not be delivered same as previous poster. Contacting my credit card company today. I reckon the guy took the thick end of 50,000 euros. If it was fraudulent, which changing terms and conditions on existing contracts to "pledges" to buy time certainly is, then he will likely do jail time. Certainly it is obtaining money by deception. I can't say I have much sympathy. To those considering the same action, you will need to compose and send an email to "Realteus support" a bit of an oxymoron there, and send a carbon copy to your own email address at the same time. This way you have proof of your email demanding a refund for non service of contract and your email providers receipt stating that reateus support is no longer available. In this way you have proof that you exhausted all means to get a refund.

Card failed POST today. Struggled getting past code 61 and ground to a halt at code 62. 61 = VRAM initialization. 62 = pch runtime error. Looks like the VRAM is toast. Removed card and tried internal graphics, PC booted up normally. RMA approved. Now for the long wait.

Had last look before starting the RMA process. Fired up DCS and held the headset instead of wearing it to watch the temps. They climbed to 80C and the screen went black. That's not at all what I was expecting. I expected higher. Anyway, duly went through the reset to get the display back and it failed to POST. My motherboard diagnostic LED hung quite a while on code 61 then it bleeped twice and stopped altogether on error code 62. Removed card and plugged monitor into built in graphics and the Rig booted up without problems. From what I can gather, those codes are VRAM initialization and loading, so it looks as if the memory failed yet again. The guy at the retailer help desk agreed that it was probably a faulty card. RMA approved and return label printed. Will take it to a drop off point tomorrow. Good job I saved all the original packaging. I'm hoping I get one from a later batch this time. First RMA was still very early days, likely retailer was still selling original batch.with the duff memory. Second RMA went to ASUS for repair and return, so still same early batch. Hope the third time is the charm.
