Stutters, pauses and jerks were introduced into open beta 1.5.6 and were then promptly carried over to the stable release version 1.5.6. Rolling back to 1.5.5 removes the stutters, pauses and jerks. Reinstalling 1.5.6 open beta or the stable release 1.5.6 and you get the stutters, pauses and jerks again. Anybody see the real problem here?

UN Convoy - Multiplayer Mission
Winston 60 replied to SUNTSAG's topic in User Created Missions General
I agree, I think this is not something you should be doing... to take other peoples hard work and incorporate it into your missions without asking permission, no matter how old the original users work is. I remember flying the original mission, I think it was one of Ranger79's early works, and hearing his original production of these exact same voiceovers. You should be aware that mission builders work closely with the voice actors and develop a close working relationship with them. They record the scripts as an individual courtesy to the mission builder and out of love for this sim. For me it takes weeks of planning to prepare the scripts, coordinate with voice actors and for them to record the voiceovers for a single mission, then edit the files for integration into the mission editor. I certainly would not like anyone taking my hours and hours of hard work and putting my files into their missions without first asking for and getting permission. We'll leave it up to Ranger79 to take offense or not, but if these were my voiceovers I'd say: "Don't re-use my sound files... it's not fair to the voice actors, and it's not fair to the mission builder." -

SUNTSAG, Who did your voiceovers? They are strangely familiar. Have I heard these exact same voiceovers in a previous mission? -
SAM Activation/Deactivation via Radio

Better to post this in Mission Builders' Corner (just above). -
It's always been more difficult to destroy flyable aircraft when they are sitting on the ground so if you can add your parked bombers as static objects, they are then rather easily dispatched with a 500lb dumb bomb or two, or cannon hits.

Cloud rotating and disappearing
Winston 60 replied to Pochi's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Nor for me, but thanks for the try. Each day that passes without a patch for release version 1.5.6 makes me wonder how things like this get into the stable release in the first place? -
+1 With the many things that were newly broken with release version ver 1.5.6, I'm shocked that no patch has yet been made to address these new and returning bugs. I'll be very unhappy if I have to wait until a stable release version 2.5 for what can be considered to be critically needed fixes. ED, please fix in the release version: 1. Su-33 Carrier takeoff from right side only causing planes to overlap. 2. Returning cloud swirling and rotating/disappearing. 3. No starting/resetting of the Elapsed Time clock on FC3 planes. 4. Long multiplayer mission load times. 5. So many new instances of jerks, pauses and stutters. 6. In multiplayer, ships vanish if spawned in after the mission starts. This is the version that newcomers download and install. Don't let them assume that this current state of DCS with all these new bugs that weren't present in release ver 1.5.5 is where things stop getting fixed and the long wait begins for a new future stable build.

Perhaps then, this "1/3 limiter" should be modeled by ED somehow in our fragile Flanker?

Keyboard "clicking", Computer reboot
Winston 60 replied to Taki1980's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I was thinking, when a computers keyboard buffer is full, a sound like this might be heard coming from the computer itself depending on the architecture of the computers mainboard. He could be hearing this "clicking" sound caused by a key command that is being repeated rapidly. I've had this happen before when my old Thrustmaster gear went bezerk one day. The noise continued after I exited DCS and I was eventually able to open a dos window to see the characters being displayed as the key command kept repeating in an endless cycle. I could also see endless characters being generated when I opened wordpad. A re-boot cured the problem until the TM hardware glitched again. Perhaps this user is experiencing a stuck key, or a rapidly repeating key command sequence generated by his flight gear? -
Keyboard "clicking", Computer reboot
Winston 60 replied to Taki1980's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Where does the "clicking" sound come from? Is it heard coming from the keyboard, inside the computer, or from the speakers? -
Thanks, but off topic here?

Maybe of some help?

LG Ultrawide 29UM68 Full HD 29" IPS LED Monitor ?
Winston 60 replied to Basco1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
IMHO, pass on the smaller ultrawides and go straight to a 34". -
Hmmm, I don't notice problems so much in the Su-27, I need to get back in that plane for some flights, but in the Su-33 it's a bit glitchy to transition from a CCIP bombing attitude to get a proper attitude for the CCRP pipper/diamond as the bomb fall line is ever present and if you don't have the exact perfect attitude you'll not get the CCRP diamond and the bombs will just come off. Perhaps the bomb fall line should vanish when you have achieved the proper CCRP attitude? I think the requirements to attain CCRP mode takes a very steady hand, a perfect approach and attitude for CCRP (hard to achieve in hairy combat situations) and maybe even a bit of luck. IIRC the Su-27 doesn't have a bomb fall line, so I really need to get back in this plane soon to see this problem that people are having. Follow Ironhand's advice and practice getting the approach and attitude you need for CCRP so perhaps you can do this in combat with missiles flying and constant beryoza warnings.

Thanks for info Ironhand. I've updated all my "reference cards".

Yeah, we're finding a lot of release version 1.5.6 bugs directly relating to the Su-33, the Kuz's carrier launches and ships on the water. IMHO 1.5.6 is a patch that should be immediately patched again or officially rolled back.

That symbol represents a target acquired by your own radar plus another radar, with med to high altitude, and slow speed. EDIT: image updated with info from Ironhand.

We noticed this when extensively playtesting my latest US Navy Squadrons Su-33 Carrier Ops, Single and Multi player missions. After spending so much time in Carrier ops we've since gone to flying other planes for awhile, but if this continues to be an issue I'll post a track of our next multiplayer Carrier Ops session or a playtesting track of the upcoming Mission 4 in a few months. Hopefully this is a bug known to ED and relevant only to the simple FM of the Su-33 as it doesn't happen in the Su-27. Also the bug has only been showing up when bombing targets on the water, and my upcoming Mission 4 will have land targets that I can compare to.
-
You really need to try this in the Su-33. In the Su-27 I have no problems. In the Su-33 it's sometimes different. If you don't get the CCRP diamond, the bombs come off immediately but do not hit the point where the CCIP pipper was. It's totally a crapshoot, doesn't always happen, just enough to be annoying.

Selling one Thrustmaster Cougar joystick base without the handle/grip. This unit has no apparent wear and has the stock gimbals/springs/pots and all internal electronics. Unit was tested recently with a borrowed grip and all axis and buttons were working. Will ship inside the USA only. PM me if interested.

If anyone wants a stock Cougar joystick base (no handle) I have one to sell but will only ship within the USA. The joystick was lightly used, no apparent wear of any kind, and has been recently tested good. PM me if interested.
