Hello everybody, I was notifyed that a bug slipped into my training campaign - in mission "basic 09 - JTAC/GBU" the lasercode of the bomb did not match the code used by the JTAC. Both codes are now set to 1588. I uploaded the mission as a fix, just paste it into your existing campaign folder. Sooy for the inconvenience. --> https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335244/

Winners of the 2022 Festive Forrestal Screenshot Contest

Hi! Just a little question, I assume we will get the key when the Phantom is released? -
@SkateZilla Could you also phrase this in a way a normal user who needs to repair his 48 downloaded skins can understand it, please?

Please see first post - I completely overhauled the campaign: Changes compared to the old campaign are: - reworked strukture, by dividing the campaign in basic, advanced, exam and graduaiton segments - correction of all sight depression values - Replaced the F1CE by the F1BE for the basic phase training - Inclusion of the F1EE for the advanced and graduation phase - Choise to select the F1CE or F1EE for the exam phase - inclusion of new weapons (e.g. S.530F or Mk 83 bombs) - inclusion of AAR tasks for the F1EE - added appendices for INS alignment and INS waypoint creation in the manual - 40 page instead of 28 page manual The old version of the campaign had 1700+ downloads. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3334349/

Thanks for the info. I will only have access to my DCS PC by next week. But I am somewhat relieved it seems to by a general bug of the Apache. -
I can just second that. Performance was always good, but now in a mint mission, with just one helo I am down to 15 fps (RTX 3060). Tested at Rio Grande and Ushuaia. Basically unflyable for me at the moment.

I would love to see a function in the ME, where I can set a transport (helo, APC or transport plane) with a specific cargo at mission start. E.g. An IL-76 with a pair of BTR-80s that is enroute to an airfield and can unload the vehicles upon landing. Of troops already loaded/embarked to an APC/IFV or helicopter, removing the need to pick them up first. This would be a huge boost of the transportation system imho.

I am looking forward to your feedback Yes, the AI software is fun to use. I just wish it could paint aircraft realistically, but that is still impossible -

Good point, @Spirale. I made a poll on the big DCS group on FB and the result suggested that Sinai was pretty well in use already. Maybe it wasn't as representative, as I thought. I keep making missions If my weird little mind comes up with a background story again, it will probably also be in a graphic novel style again. -

Thank you both so much! It was fun going down the graphic novel route I will surely do it again somewhen, if the story allows it. Bottomline, I have to consider the mission being a giant fail. 300 odd downloads in three weeks is nothing and I don't yet understand what went wrong. If it just isn't "Apache time", if it is the story as such, if it is that Apache pilots do not play SP missions anymore - I really am clueless at the moment -

@KeyserSoze62 Thank you so much I wish I could paint like that myself, no the images are all AI created using Midjourney. Quite exhausting to finally get the image one wants. -
Hi everyone, I would like to introduce my new mission "Operation Horizon", a storydriven rescue mission on the Sinai map: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331765/ The mission: In 2016, a school class of Israeli children is on a fieldtrip to Jerusalem. On their way home their bus is stopped by a group of armed fighters and abducted to the West Bank. Authorities are quickly informed and a ground based rescue team as well as an Apache helicopter (“Splitter”) are scrambled for a rescue operation. At 15:30 local time, the Apache – call sign SPLITTER one-one – is launched at Palmachim Air Base. Its primary task is to find the school bus in the vicinity of the pinpointed location and wait for further instructions. You will fly along the pre-planned flight route and follow the instructions of COMMAND. Before reaching the West Bank, you will receive MGRS coordinates of the location, where the girl’s mobile was pinpointed. Use your F10 radio item to inform ground forces when you found the bus, else they will not proceed to the location. You will find the bus surrounded by enemy fighters and be cleared to engage. Be very cautious not to hit the bus! After the bus scene you might receive another assignment. Listen to COMMAND and follow the on screen instructions. Required skills: - enter new (way-)points into the TSD - know how to operate external fuel tanks - precision use of the gun Mission highlights: + The difficulty of the mission can be adapted inflight. + comes with a full set of around 80 voice actor files in English and Hebrew. + custom ATC (do not use in game ATC!) + various F10 radio options + self made maps + single player or multi crew + two miz files for cold start and hot start + 12 page manual in PDF format + a little extra *** Sinai map required *** I highly recommend vined0g’s IDF desert UH-60A skin, for the correct display of IAF skins. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309970/ Enjoy! Same here, first 502 then 504. Everything deactivated.

One question - in Casmo's video it sounded like there is no button to use the new optical sight, like for instance in the Hind. In VR or using TrackIR it is easy enough to lean forward. Does this mean we have to move the cockpit camera to use it in 2D? Is there a button like in the Hind planned for the future maybe? Thanks.

Thank you very much! I could reproduce it now - as expected the problem was me of course. Moving my view from right to left, I first switched the radio to P and then switched it on - I did not expect this to make a difference, my fault. Following your steps works fine, sorry for the trouble. Else, a phantastic campaign. I am about to fly mission 6 today and I never got this far any campaign so far. Very entertaining and I love the navigation. A lot to learn here, also as a fellow mission maker. Cheers Carsten
