  1. it may be worth using jsgme to manage your mods, you can remove and install them with one click. makes integrity check and up dates a snap. there are detailed instructions even I could follow in the Mods forom
  2. the electric fuel pump must be on for hi altitude flight, or engine will quit.

  4. Hello, The 109 is one of my favs also. on the main page click on settings (the little gear at the top), then click 109 and miscellanies, the trim ground settings are in there. slight rudder helps.

  7. Hi All, I'll ask my question here as it fuel system related. I'm not really clear on the function of the fuel tank pressure cock. Is it to pressurize the slipper? (which we don't have yet, but is coming), or the internal tanks? is it boost pressure? I've read the manual but might have missed it. I'm getting to the point I'm burning a full fuel load now and I was just wondering. thanks
  8. I changed my rudder curve to 25 and it really helped to keep ball centered and keep coordinated flight with minute rudder inputs. (same for Spit). I have TM Hotas X. let go of stick and see which way the A/c banks and climbs, if climbs and banks right, give slight left rudder, you will find the left wing will drop and most likely the plane will level out. could be just me because I'm no pilot but have been around planes my whole life slower rudder inputs also help with gunnery.

  10. Hello, I have a TM hotas x and the Spit handles and turns great. no problem with level flight. Taxi and T/O and landing are a different story for me though! You might check your axis set-up
  11. WOW, I'm speechless. the spitfire is truly one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built and the previews of Normandy and 2.5 wip are stunning. the theme and views of spitfire almost brought tears to my eyes, and (lol) I'm a Yank

  13. I'm no engineer either. It depends on many factors, E-state and load out, your airspeed wont be exactly the same etc... generally flaps increase lift with a huge increase in drag, don't lower flaps unless you have to, and then just one notch, pick a menouver and pop flaps then retract them after it. that's my humble opinion

  17. burn fuel in aft tank first, it turns much better, don't flat turn, it will bleed E very fast. it immelmans well to reverse course, also split s very well, but I prefer immelman though, so as too not loose alt advantage
  18. the compression of the engine will still rock the wings, even if its not firing, it appears to be a sound issue, as if you push throttle slightly forward engine seems to quit firing and prop still spins indefinently. push throttle a little more and coughs and sputters, and prop almost stops spinning. I tried to see if it would actually quit, but it didn't. push throttle slightly more, eng catches and runs normally. I read in forums that ED's engine model takes into account piston stroke, cam position, fuel flow and and other parameters by the way I'm on 1.5.5. p.s. I don't know if its just me but their seems to be a number of "personality" changes to the piston engines lately

This in My humble opinion normal and correct, as the Merlin coughs when its cold also, I believe its the engine leaning out at first when its first started and the engine controls haven't totally taken over yet. i've noticed the engine starts then seems to load up, then clears when I speed it to about 1200rpms. its possible its a bug, but its more possible its normal
  22. slight, I mean very slight, rudder input to keep ball centered, and I find a slight pitch down moment causing need to trim nose up ... with trim nose up +1, little or no flap for t/o. configured for cruise @ 440- 50kph 1.0 ata 1800-2000 rpms hands off cruise steer with feet. full fuel or not, drop or not. but that's just me

I use the Hotas X also, and it has lasted about 4 years so far, and still going strong. the pit falls have been stated so far( a little "sticky" at center, but curve of 25 or so really helped that). also only one hat switch is a limitation, but I mapped my Lt ctrl, alt and shift keys to control sensors and trim etc. also has rudimentary force feedback. Is a great low cost option. mine was 40$us or so if I recall correctly

It's the same engine basically as a mustang, so it has the same basic control set up. most supercharged aircraft engines had a mechanical interlock that was basically a little metal flap that you could flip down and either locked the throttle and prop control together, or blocked the prop control from moving ahead of the throttle, causing over-boost and possible engine damage. the exact setup differed between manufactures and aircraft, and country of origin. the German automated set-up was a great advantage in combat as it freed up the pilot load so he could concentrate on flying instead of engine management
