Hi All, just wanted to say that I Figured out how to use the updater to update the stable version to the beta, and I'm glad I did! the DOs prompt was the easiest way for me. Thank you for the tutorial Skatezilla, I'm not the most computer savvy person, but you explained it so even I could do it. frame rates seem better now and the Viggen is awesome, I'm doing the training missions now wow gonna take some time to learn it. The comparisons to A-10 are true and its only going to get better as time goes by. The beta seems to load a little slower but works better once it does, and it's not that much longer. anyone that pre-ordered Viggen but is not sure should think about switching to the beta, I don't think I will go back to stable. we will see. Good job Cobra and everyone else at Leatherneck and ED

:DDone. Viggen is Bought! Man I can't wait to try it out :joystick:

I would think about buying everyone at ED candy and roses for Valentines day if we had Pre- purchase.. or...(gasp)... early access to Normandy by then. :megalol::lol::pilotfly:

OMG... be still my heart, we will have Ford and southern England! Thank you ED! The mission possibilities are endless

at 20000 it should stay in hi unless it gets shifted to low, or decend below about 15000ft. maybe its mapped to a key used for something else? -
ooops, I lied, its in the ingame module manager

heres a track I just made, the ambient temp is a little low, I forgot to change it back, that may affect outcome somewhat. I will make another at a higher amb temp. please don't take what we say as criticism or lack of skills, we are just trying to help you enjoy the Pony. -

my 2 cents... I've found that with 50% fuel and 2 500lbs and six rockets, (really heavy) coolers fully open on takeoff, clear terrain, accelerate to appox. 225-250 kts set 2700 and 46in, let speed dictate climb rate(usually 1500- 2500fpm) keep speed above 200 set coolers to auto, watch temps, keep coolers as closed as possible. the boost will stay at 46in until about 12000 ft then stat to fall, at this point keep advancing throttle ,but don't advance throttle ahead of prop lever as a rule of thumb. add rpms if necessary to maintain 46-50in, till hi blower kicks in. then readjust trim and coolers. 10-12 min to 25000ft -
Thanks MKiii, that may be the problem, but I'm not sure how to convert it. the other files in the Kneeboard folder are png format but jpg must aso work it looks like. I will check the link you posted. I found an existing kneeboard folder at program/dcs/mods/terrains/caucasbase/kneeboard. it has all the other maps and stuff in it also

I have been pulling what hair I have left out trying to add the DCS beacon list to my Kneeboard , and it wont add it. Eventually I would like to add it to my JSGME. I added a kneeboard folder at /user/saved games/dcs/ and put the pdf in it but its not on the clipboard. I usually try to get the address right before adding it to JSGME but this one has me stumped. any help would be much appreaciated. thank you in advance

regarding the compass, is not a radio compass like I thought it was
-
Thanks for the replies, I suppose if I spelled it right I might have found it. I've been able to set Tbilisi VOR (113.6 Mhz) into channel c in the mission editor and the homing adaptor on. (the CW- MCW switch seems to be mislabeled or something because the CW-MCW (Continuous wave- Modulated continuous wave) switch says adaptor on-off when I hold my mouse on it and morse code starts as soon as I switch it on.) Need to do more testing to see if it changes right-left like it should or is just playing the code

Allison was having teething problems with the 1710 and turbocharger on airacobra. the Army made them remove turbo due to longevity issues. problems were mostly solved on Kingcobra. P-38used same set-up but had less cooling problems due to better radiator and aftercooler design, however was still prone to over heating problems especially on early models. Lockheed redesigned the cowling pretty much solving the problems. I would be ok with an air or Kingcobra. Not a dogfighter, although they would be great for ground attack...mid engine= good handling, dives good,(most would be surprised how good) well armed and armored, just have to remember its underpowered over 10,000ft.

Hi all, I've been flying the Mustang again after a long time, and was wondering if the Deltrola or the radio compass was modeled in the sim. I seem to remember some time ago a post about spawning a Humvee with a radio beacon but I cant find it. Any help would be welcome. Thanks in advance

ok think of it this way, you are flying along wing leading edge into the airstream, then you bank 90 degrees and yank on the elevator, which makes the airflow direction actually move to the top or bottom of wing instead of the leading edge creating loss of airflow over the wing(the plane is moving sideways instead of nose on to direction of flight). creating stall. try giving the elevators a small curve(10-15) and see if that helps
