  1. Is afterburner on? Flying head on towards the missile is better since you keep your exhaust hidden with the rest of the aircraft.

  4. MiG-21bis had that in real life. DCS implementation of ASP-PFD-21 is sadly a placeholder. As for "how could they abandon technologies" - its a good example of doctrine change during the generations of fighter aircraft. The first serial MiG-21F13 of the late 50s early 60s had an internal gun and a computing gunsight. Then it was decided that who would ever need a gun if you have guided missiles, and that nobody will ever merge because constant mach 2. PF, PFM migs didnt have a gun and had the same sight you can see now in DCS Mi-8 just to aim the missiles. Vietnam, Israel and other hotspots proved that wrong. Later 21s(1964 MiG-21S and on) had a gun and a computing gunsight returned. Still, dedicated interceptors like Su-15 still had that simple crosshair, and MiG-25 didnt have any sight or HUD at all.

Judging from the technical manual that is present online the only major difference between MiG-19 models is all-moving stabilizer or non-all-moving elevator that led to discrepancy in hi speed hi altitude controllability. So if we have an all moving tail aircraft made by an all moving tail manual it seems legit.

  14. Что касается играбельности, вешаем синим спэрроу, ставим на бэк группу Мираж первого состава - проблема решена. В 1990-2015 были Р-27 против Амраамов. Это факт. Самый новый кликаб который мы можем получить это МиГ-23МЛ. Если конечно какое нибудь РВИО или юнармия не обратит болезного взора на ЕД и не решит популяризовать Су-35. Впрочем глядя на наборы в училища и зарплатные приказы пополняющие ряды гражданских авиакомпаний такой поворот еще менее вероятен. ЗЫ - 25й и 31й - не истребители. Их шансы при встрече с тактической авиацией стремятся к нулю.
  15. Баланс исторический такой как в жизни был. Красные отстают от синих на поколение начиная с начала 60-х. Спасибо ракетной истерике и кукурузе. Синие крафты из 90х- начала 2000х. Тогда не было 35 в товарных количествах. Были 27 и 29 советского разлива. Противостоять Томкету на 21 и 23 - исторично. Ну или летайте на J-11 со скином. Получите запретную сушку. Может ей еще новый цветной белорусский МФИ запилят...
  16. Would like to see a little pronouncement option of front armor glass color like on warbirds. It has thickness already, but its not very visible when not in VR.
  17. Невозможно сравнивать управление плечом и кистью. На подстольнике/напольнике получится управлять чем угодно в DCS без кривых и мертвых зон. Управление становится очень легким и естественным. Потом читаешь форум и удивляешься кому это Су или Миг слишком чувствительный итд.

  19. Thats what it has two reflectors for. One shows target mark, the other - calculated impact point. They couldn't show multiple info on one reflector back in 1956 yet. Though I doubt using it for a target doing any significant G's. It was designed to engage bombers in zero visibility - night+inside clouds.
  20. Its just about quantity. You taxi at no more than 20-30 km/h I presume, and make small corrections with the brake. When gear up the system has to immediately stop the wheels from 300-350 km/h. As for touch and go's they are permitted but only using the full circuit to give the brakes time to cool. Still we need a technical manual verification on compressed air use and expense. Maybe its ok, maybe not quite.
  21. Interesting that PF, PFM early to mid sixties 21s had a night vision gunnery sight side by side with the reflector sight but it was dropped in bis.
  22. Voting for leaving the MiGs realistic and asking ED for old NDB's(which seems to be not much more complex than adding some fields into the navaids frequencies and coordinates table). And we can wait till they implement it.

  24. And it has in DCS. Its just harder to discriminate that in the game than in reality. Yes, the bot is flying in ideal conditions, and is ideal itself. But very unimaginative in terms of tactics.
  25. DCS damage model is oriented towards missles. We have to wait for a new "warbird" one which is in the works. :beer: The sight representation in the sim is better than migs sight in the sim, auto ranging works. Of course it has limitations, its a very early technology! And all this educates us, the simmers, about how much skill the aviators of that time had to have. Life support towards G tolerance in Sabre and say F-16C is hard to compare. Its was one of the first ones operational. And ED/BST had posts about actually researching that(and implementing tuneable G-tolerance mechanic in the first place).
