I couldn’t see what resolution you are running of if you are a VR user. From my own experience I’d say the rig is good for 1080p but on the edge for higher resolutions although cutting stuff back should help. I wouldn’t expect much from it in VR. Your RAM is low for DCS. Certainly for MP but dependent on the map and mission being flown SP could be problematic to. Personally I don’t like optimisation programs as they can harm more than they can help. If you are confident with them though each to their own. Overclocking the gpu can sometimes cause stutters I stopped doing this a long time ago. You Have a K chip but don’t indicate if you have overclocked it. I would assume the 8700 is good for an all core clock of at least 4.7ghz if you cooling is ok cheers

Pretty Sure the MFT probably has a wishlish thread in here for a time machine that could be used to bring missiles back from the future....hes got a thred for pretty much everything else.

Very nice performance improvements from 2.7.10 to 2.7.11

Can the same increase can be seen in areas where there is a distinct lack of trees like Nevada? (too lazy to look) -
I don’t even know what the FXO folder does or if it’s important. Just something I slavishly do along side the usual blood sacrifices and naked dancing each patch. I recall some also clean out something in the terrains folder to. either way it didn’t help the OP regrettably.
-
Thanks - FXO still manual though? Is that correct?

Seems to be working fine for me. Im able to add aircraft, select them and alter loadouts in game with no issues. Your problem may lie elsewhere.

Try deleting them from you saved games folder. Sometimes a patch that makes changes to a map (such as this one) can adversely affect performance if both of these files are not deleted. The game will remake those files on first run so there is no harm in doing so. Its not a guarantee but its something easy and safe to try as a way of ruling things out. For many this latest patched increased FPS across the board.

deleted your metashader 2 nd FXO folders?

After last patch 2.7.11.21408.1 SC no longer work

If you are using Mods see this (last 4 or 5 posts) There's a lua file to replace. -
Doh! had gotten this mod mixed up with Highwayman Ed's when I was looking through them. Thanks! Thank you!!
-
Where does the lua go?
-
NOW you tell me!!!
-
Hope its fixed soon. This isnt one of those mods that adds something you can do without. It contains stuff ED should have included in the SC module and/or aircraft modules and statics off the bat but didnt.

Im also seeing a performance increase broadly in line with this. Roughly 8-10 fps accross the board irrespective of map or module. Would love to see if carrier ops are also improved but all those missions using the much required US Navy Equipment Mod are now broken and the carriers no longer show up in the mission. -
Hello Alan It sounds more like the game couldnt sync your account rather than the trial ending.. Might be wrong.

It'll be incredible if the detail shown isnt turned into a lego brick when you are more than a Km away. Ugra have been very generous with their map additons and detail but really need to sweat the small stuff (late high detail loading distances, unfurling trees 500m from the camera, incorrect destruction models, impossible topology/edge hanging objects) and not so small stuff (view distance/performance and RAM munching). I hope they do. I fear they wont.

Do I need a collective?
Boosterdog replied to Dangerzone's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I fly (flew - currently too many vulnerable wires and a 3 month old puppy have curtailed actvities) helos in DCS almost exclusively. My own opinion only but DCS is too bugged (especially for Helos) to justify unnecessary costs such as this. There are far too many other things to draw you out of any immersion. My throttle is set up as standand - push for increase collective. I think most standard throttles have more switches to assign stuff too as well. -
Military v civilian versions Livery dependent. It can be altered

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess.

Seemed a faily stright forward question to me. I assume your "opinon" is baseless then?

Rubarb. On what planet is an english, french or german airfield going to share the same assets as an hastily expanded, always under constructiion Pacific American Field or any earlier period Japanese one? They dont. not in the real world, not in the recreated world and not "literally". The airfields themselves are not generic either - North Field is iconic and extensive its not a place and plop. Add to that the islands looked vastly different pre WW2 and during WW2. Its not just a matter of removing trees. Sugar and coffee platations covered Tinian, hugley different setlements existed with hugley different buildings and even temples as well as period ports, alternate period infrastructure etc etc etc ETC.. Arguably some alteration to the topology will also be needed. And again with the Free map - its free - a tech prover, a no obligation to use thing. You dont even need to havie it burden your hard drive if you dont want to. It owes you nothing. ED owe you nothing. No single ED asset NEEDs this map currently. Not sure why its "espically" special to you that an period set FREE map is so important given there is really sod all else theate specific to use with it at present And that is my best polite answer.

Having finally repaired my self inflicted issues, I flew the distaster releif mission on a private server with zero stutter. Incredible (though less incredibe when you consdier our supposedly cutting edge sim is still using a single core in 2022 unless hoops are jumped through). This said - setting up a server in the manner described is not onerous and (assuming yu havent messed stuff up previously as I did) takes a few minutes at most. Once set up, seconds per session. Better still since its not the full Dedicated server, there is nothing more than the core game to take up space on the drive. All this said its not perfect - the map objects in the destroyed zones do not appear in the damaged forms (a year old problem at least), leaving an intact city with a very confused population wondering why UN were rushing about looking so concerned (happily thats quickly resolved when they get motared). This undoubteldy eases the load in general but Ive played an edited version of this mission in SP with no destruction zones (or cloud or anything nice in fact) and still had severe stuttering. Its a very good case study in how much needed the hiving off of the AI triggers onto a separate core is if nothing else. Im looking forward to running the IADS thriough it for sure. In the meantime its a godsend for those of us sensitive to hiccups although, given the extra 4GB of RAM use, Im not sure its a Syria thing even with 32GB to play with :-). Thanks for the thread.
