I followed several excellent tutorials on getting troops to embark to an AI helo. This one is particularly good: but no matter what I do, I cannot get the troops to embark into a client helo. Is this a known limitation?

I dont want a radio transmission - rather a sound played to all units. Radio transmissions require a frequency and sometimes players dont tune their radios
-
I want to simulate a conversation. There are three sounds that are played to the whole coalition. I have a trigger so that when a unit enters the trigger zone, there is an action with three 'sound to all' actions , each with a different sound. However, only the last sound is played. How can I do this? I want to keep the sounds separate so that eventually I can select different sounds based on the circumstances but I cannot get even this simple sequence to fire.

Set AI to takeoff on a specific order from carrier
skypickle replied to Darcaem's topic in Mission Editor
Thank you. My issue is that I built a complex mission and at the end decided to add an AI CAP flight of f14s. I am concerned that these AI aircraft will block the client aircraft. I want to test this mission on a server but dcs only spawns 1 client (since I am the only one in the server) I read the supercarrier manual and it shows the assigned parking spots for f14s and f18s but I cannot figure out where the clients will actually spawn. After I built the mission with 4 f14 clients and 4 f18 clients , (all parking hot) I added the following AI: an e2d on cat 1, an f14 on cat2, an f14 on cat3 and 2 uncontrolled f14s on the ramp with a trigger to start them set once. -
This is an old problem with real kludgy solutions. Any progress?

Set AI to takeoff on a specific order from carrier
skypickle replied to Darcaem's topic in Mission Editor
sorry to necro this thread, but have the devs figured out a way to set parking spots and the order of AI takeoff? -
I recently played a mission designed by MorrisTheCat https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322246/ the voice overs were very realistic. How is that done? @MorrisTheCathow did you do that?

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
skypickle replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@=Andre=actually, the uwv editor is still sitting nicely in the simshaker folder. It's just that clicking that button on the settings dialog gives the error. -
@Bailey That didnt work either. I contacted the dev and he said "you can not just add those lines to make it work, need to add code to electricalsystem to run action when key pressed". That's beyond me so I guess the streamdeck is the only way I can get more physical buttons.

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
skypickle replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I thought Id try to edit some uwv files. I clicked the checkbox in the settings dialog and Simshaker created a bunch of files in a dedicated folder. I then went to start uwv editor and got an error dialog - unhandled exception See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() at SimShaker.UI.AutoStarterForm.startUWVeditorToolStripMenuItem_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.RaiseEvent(Object key, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEventInteractive(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEvent(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripDropDown.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4515.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v4.0.30319/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- SimShaker for Aviators Beta Assembly Version: 2.4.2.0 Win32 Version: 2.4.2.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/SimShaker/SimShaker%20for%20Aviators%20Beta/SimShaker%20for%20Aviators%20Beta.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4515.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4536.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4390.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4190.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_B CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Configuration/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Configuration.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Core Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4536.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Core/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Core.dll ---------------------------------------- NLog Assembly Version: 5.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 5.0.1.1159 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/SimShaker/SimShaker%20for%20Aviators%20Beta/NLog.DLL ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4084.0 built by: NET48REL1 CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll ---------------------------------------- Accessibility Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4084.0 built by: NET48REL1 CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Accessibility/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Accessibility.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. I added those lines to the default.lua file and although the control options appear in the controls tab and are bindable, they still do nothing in the cockpit. I also tried {down = 127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 1, name = _('Batt1 On'), category = _('Special')}, {down = 127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 0, name = _('Batt1 Off'), category = _('Special')},
-
Interestingly, I can create a button in the stream deck with those settings you pictured and it works in the aircraft without any modification to the default.lua file. I still cannot get the ID lookup button to populate even though I have a copy of the Su-30 mod in the Eagle dynamics /mod/aircraft folder with the entry.lua file removed. Does yours populate?? I also am trying to get bindable buttons to work in the controls tab. I tried adding these lines {down = 127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 1, name = _('Batt1 On'), category = _('Special')}, {down = 127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 0, name = _('Batt1 Off'), category = _('Special')}, or these lines in the default.lua file at both locations (saved games su-30 mod andeagle dynamics su30 mod) {down = 3127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 1, name = _('Batt1 On'), category = _('Special')}, {down = 3127, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, value_down = 0, name = _('Batt1 Off'), category = _('Special')}, And although bindable controls appear in the controls dialog, pushing the assigned buttons on the button box while sitting in the cockpit does nothing. The streamdeck rotary tho works.
-
unfortunately this doesnt work so well for the su-30 mod. The clickabledata.lua for the SU30 has this line: elements["BATTERY1"] = {class = {class_type.TUMB,class_type.TUMB}, hint = _("Battery 1"), device = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, action = {device_commands.Button_127, device_commands.Button_127}, arg = {3127,3127}, arg_value = {0,1}, arg_lim = {{0,1},{0,1}},updatable = true} I tried to modify the default.lua file so that bindings would appear in the controls tab. I added these lines to the default.lua {down = device_systems.Batt1OnOff, value_down = 1 , name = _('Battary 1 ON'), category = _('Systems')}, {down = device_systems.Batt1OnOff, value_down = 0 , name = _('Battary 1 OFF'), category = _('Systems')}, Although bindings appear in the controls tab, the buttons on my box assigned to these actions do nothing in the cockpit.

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
skypickle replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you for supporting this project. I have added a mod, the SU-30. files here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AxoQEtcM4Q8rnkRSLHz-TEIYAJQr_m6A/view intro here: How do I make it play nice with simshaker? Aparently simshaker does not recognize the plane. I would be content to give the profile of the su-27 or the su-33 which are standard jets in the DCS. How can I do this.? -
Thank you Bailey for your attention and your reply. Regarding the Su33, although the cockpit is not clickable, there is a su33.lua file in DCS exports. so how do I find the button IDs to assign in the streamdeck? Regarding the Su30 mods, I added the lua files to the DCS exports directory where all the other lua files for my planes reside. I have the streamdeck working for the regular planes as well as the mods like the AE-4 and the UH-60. The clickabledata.lua for the SU30 has this line: elements["BATTERY1"] = {class = {class_type.TUMB,class_type.TUMB}, hint = _("Battery 1"), device = devices.ELECTRIC_SYSTEM, action = {device_commands.Button_127, device_commands.Button_127}, arg = {3127,3127}, arg_value = {0,1}, arg_lim = {{0,1},{0,1}},updatable = true} I followed the F1 Mirage example you linked me and from the clickabledata.lua above, I see that the button ID is 3127. To get the device ID I went to the devices.lus file which has this: local count = 0 local function counter() count = count + 1 return count end aircraft = "" if get_aircraft_type ~= nil then aircraft = get_aircraft_type() end FLANKER_Cfg = FLANKERS[aircraft] MFDOffsets = {} MFDOffsets = {3214, 3245, 3276, 3307, 3338, 3369, 3400} -------DEVICE ID---------- devices = {} devices["ELECTRIC_SYSTEM"] = counter() devices["ENGINE"] = counter() . . . . From the above code, I guess that the electrical system has device ID = 1. So I plugged these values into a streamdeck button but nothing happens in the cockpit. I also tried to modify the default.lua file so that bindings would appear in the controls tab. I added these lines to the default.lua {down = device_systems.Batt1OnOff, value_down = 1 , name = _('Battary 1 ON'), category = _('Systems')}, {down = device_systems.Batt1OnOff, value_down = 0 , name = _('Battary 1 OFF'), category = _('Systems')}, Although bindings appear in the controls tab, thebuttons on my box assigned to these actions do nothing in the cockpit. Any insight you have on how to proceed would be helpful.

Has anyone successfully gotten this to work with the su-33 in flaming cliffs? I cannot get clickable data info on the Su-33 which is part of the Flaming Cliffs package. This aircraft exists in this directory: C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs Also I have installed a free mod named the SU30 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AxoQEtcM4Q8rnkRSLHz-TEIYAJQr_m6A/view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PEMRtJtBH8 It also generates no csv file. To be certain that the script can look in the 'usual place', I placed a copy of the mod into two locations: C:\Users\Stefan\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft and C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft i don’t understand why the A4E mod is compatible but the su30 mod is not

Come to Jtf 13. We’re flying most days, have regular training sorties as well as fun missions. Familiarization flights (to introduce new people to an airframe) are a good way to start https://jtf13.com most of us are on discord which is active all day.

Thank you! that was it.

I do not have either the Harrier or the Tomcat although I do fly the F18 with a group of friends. In designing missions, the Harrier is in the dropdown list of US aircraft and I can put it on the map for others to fly. However, the F14 is MIA-not on the dropdown. How can I troubleshoot this?
-
I downloaded the mod, I renamed the file, PLAN Liaoning CV-16, to CV_1143_5, I put it in here C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\CV_1143_5 No chinese carrier in mission editor

How do I add keybindings for cockpit controls which do not have them?
-
Is there any way to drop a mark point on the F10 map from the cockpit using a hotkey ? I dont want to flip to F10 to draw a circle while in combat or CSAR.
-
I need to create keybinds for actions that do not exist in the controls tab for a mod, the SU30M. Although there are some keybinds in the controls dialog, many are missing-start engines, battery, the electrical switches, etc. How do I go about doing this? Where do I look in the lua files? edit: found answer here
