It works very well if: 1. You mark the target accurately 2. You fly EXACTLY according to the flight director Doing these two things well enough to directly hit a tank becomes very difficult. Also, at the moment, the bombs overshoot if you release them level, if you keep a shallow dive they fall in the correct place.

It is broken with mk-82 but it works with GBU-12. I do not know if it works with Beluga / Snakeyes. -

Operation "Blue Flag Normandy" - 24/7 WWII PvP Campaign - ROUND 1

Is there a guide as to which targets need to be destroyed at airfields, cities and ports? -
The banding shows on normal screens too and as mentioned it is because the gradual change in hue is done with a naive algorithm instead of using the dithering algorithm. Its not because of VR, it is DCS's engine.

Spitfire Epsom campaign is on the shop page so we may well see a 2.1 update today.

I saw this when you posted it at first. That was a good move, I wouldn't recommend as a general tactic in the 21 though :D

Against an F-15 you're likely going to die unless the F-15 pilot makes a bad mistake. They can outturn, outclimb and outdive you in every regime. Against an F-5 however, you have speed on your side. They can outturn you easily and their engine won't flame out, unlike yours. So the trick is to not slow down, make them burn their energy away by trying to turn and climb at you, when they stall out you should be able to make a run at them. The Mig21 is not good at turning with those small wings, it wants to go fast and you should let it.

You don't have to understand the actual word either, you just need to learn to recognise the switches and their uses. Slightly tricky in the beginning but, like the Mig21 / Ka50 / M2000 after a while you just remember what they do and you don't need to read the labels anymore.

"other side of world", "100ms" hahaha. haha. haa. er... :( The lowest my ping as ever been to BF is about 180ms, 104th? 320ms. US servers are right out for me in general. Also Blue Flag is hosted in Germany according to: https://www.iplocation.net -
Is this at Senaki? Framerate there sucks.

We need finer-grained runway damage, in multiplayer.

That seems like a very decent idea and it will tell us if it is the DL itself or the number of EWRs that caused the lag. -

Just give the Flankers their DL. It really doesn't make them OP, the Mirage can literally turn around and fly away from their Fox1 missiles. Ask those guys I, uhm, deterred, last night, 4 of them in 2 sorties before I flew into a mountain trying to gun a helo. If EWRs cause lag, then maybe can we try to limit them to some maximum, removing the oldest one once the limit is reached. I really like Crash's idea of having the full weapons complement but in a way that requires some effort to use some of the more advanced weaponry. -

The Viggen has BK90s and Mavs, I know this but because the ground stuff respawns so quickly, its kinda moot whether I bomb them or not. I can take out maybe 4 bunkers max and fly back. By the time I'm back at base the FARP is close to respawning. I guess that's the point of forcing teamwork, however, also, the Viggen needs coordinates and stuff moves around. It gets pretty tedious to keep unzipping the track file and reading coordinates from it. There MUST be a better way :-) -

As much as it hurts me to say this, the interceptors are pretty useless as it is. The Mig-21 is mildly better than the F5 because it can actually see things on the radar sometimes, has enough missiles and has IFF but it has a rubbish RWR and the F5 is effectively a fast P51 with 2 missiles and a ground detection radar. It has a nice RWR though. Also, the ground targets in BF are still too tough and too small to bomb and rocket successfully with F5s and Mig21s, even Viggens and M2000 are kinda useless for that, and again we're stuck with precision weaponry. So these planes are less useful in this scenario too. They're only really good at gunning down helos in this scenario. Also with BVR missiles we were talking about ARH missiles. -
I guess we're saying the same thing. Its when the airflow has no V_lateral component over the airframe. This all assumes all the air in the entire airspace is moving as a block at the same velocity (inertial reference frame) and the aircraft has been accelerated by this airflow after takeoff. Once it has, there is no rotation into the wind anymore because there is no 'wind'.

I think this would be a pretty reasonable compromise for BVR aircraft. I would limit the BVR missiles to just a base or two per side and far away from the front lines. So you can get the really dangerous weapons but they come at a cost and those bases can then become valuable strike targets, maybe their fuel bunkers can be a bit more visible than the others, its very difficult to find some of them (thanks DCS). -
So many pages of dick swinging. Most of you are almost right or completely right but suck at explaining, or just wrong. The aircraft weathervanes into the wind. Of course it does, else it wouldn't be going where you wanted it to go. BigDuke, your explanation is not quite correct, however, in general you are right (almost). Whether a plane weathervanes into the crosswind has nothing to do with being on the ground or in the air, it has to to with airflow along the axis parallel to its wings. When it is on the ground or have just taken off, if there is air flowing in that direction, the nose is pushed into the wind and the centre of gravity of the plane is accelerated in the direction of the wind (because the aerodynamic stability of the plane requires the nose to point into airflow.). However, once the plane's CoG's velocity component in the direction of the wind is equal to the windspeed, this rotational force stops turning the plane. So, I think you guys are arguing just for the sake of it and some of you are using rules of thumb approximation (plane on ground, plane in air) to explain physics and most aren't working it out from first principles.

They may have tweaked what the different settings mean again. Also, did you clear your shader cache?

I wouldn't worry about it. Just replace the drive when it fails and never ever have your important documents only on physical drives, keep them in the cloud and never worry about backups again.
