  1. Amphibian aircraft will eventually have to be added to DCS anyways as there were several iconic WWII aircraft like the Catalina and the Zero.
  2. A RAZMAB representative had made this comment on their FB page regarding their current timeline. "The AMX, EE Lightning and Sea Harrier can be expected after the F-15, Mig23 and Super Tucano. " This was the last info I saw regarding the Mirage III. Each of these already have a 3d developer assigned, who is currently busy with already scheduled and licensed developments, so they are NOT a PRIORITY for the time being. IA-58 Pucara Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both) Dassault Super Etendard Sea Harrier FRS.1
  3. Being able to do walk arounds for preflight checks is already planed by ED. See the video interview below at 1:17:45 min.
  4. I recommend posting in the DCS mod section also. https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/184-dcs-mods/
  5. I recommend watching this video interview to learn a little more about the vision DCS has with WW2 at 49.10.
  6. The MiG-17AS and MiG-17F are also coming to DCS by Red Star simulations. And by the looks of the below chart the MiG-17 and MiG-21 saw the most action against F-4C and D's in Vietnam.
  7. I have seen many people over the years comment on not only here but on youtube that they have no interest in flying combat missions in DCS. I have also heard the same thing from personal acquaintances that just like to fly in other civilian flight sims. The few of those that still do fly in DCS do it just in single player mode because they enjoy DCS’s great flight model. However a lot of those same people have also expressed that if there were something like an E-2 Hawkeye or tanker they would me more interested in taking part in support missions. This is just one of many comments I have seen around. "Would love to see an E-3 Hawkeye join us in DCS. Being a Commercial pilot, that would make my day. All this Hornet stuff is far too stressful. LOL" Here is fairly new and interesting documentary about the C-2 Greyhound. After watching this I discovered that that the C-2 is actually more challenging to fly and land on a carrier deck than other aircraft.
  8. I had recently came across a new 3rd party called Red star simulations that I was unaware of that is currently developing the Mig-17. They plan to have the MiG-17AS and MiG-17F be official (EFM/ASM) DCS modules sold as one package. https://redstarsimulations.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pg/Red-Star-Simulations-106049571612972/posts/
  9. I am sure that as long as you get the flight model pretty accurate early on that would be the most important factor to be considered like the real thing.
  10. I think that as long as you make it clear to the customer upfront before buying that this would be a work in progress it would fall on the customer if its for them or not. I am sure there would be a lot of BLUFF fans out there that just want the experience of flying a descent enough simulation of the B-52. By the way the new update poll is probably one of the best I have seen with a detailed view of the particular interest there would be.
  11. The history channel recently uploaded an official episode of Dog fights featuring the Mig-17 and F-8 Crusader in Vietnam. It's a must watch if you have not seen it before.
  12. In my opinion there will have to be something simple yet interesting and useful to come first to open up the possibilities to something bigger and more complex. So what ever it might be it might have to be a medium sized aircraft that is old enough to be declassified and enough data available for it. From WWII the B-25 would be ideal For some thing newish the F-111
  13. According to this interview with ED ground troops are not planned but they are planing to make individual vehicles derivable like tanks. See Questions #15 at 47:46 and #29 at 1:08:56 in this interview.
  14. The MiG-17F was the most used variant but it had no radar and was not equipped to carry air-to-air missiles. The late-model MiG-17PF carried an SRD-3 gun-ranging radar and SIV-52 infrared sight, a combination that suited a night fighter. The MiG-19s that were used were the J-6 models which were supplied by the PRC (People's Republic of China). They were unpopular by Vietnamese pilots because they had a very short range when ran at full after burner. And the MiG-21F-13 were the ones used.
  15. Your correct. I guess its because even though the Century series predate Vietnam I forget that some of them ended up serving in Vietnam. Specially the F-105 Thunder chief and the F-100 Super Saber.
  16. Unfortunately ED had stated in an interview before that they do not have interest in doing century series fighters in the near future. So the best hope would be for some AI ones or up to the 3rd parties to make full fidelity modules. With that being said it looks like Vietnam era stuff would probably come sooner than the century series.
  17. I doubt that most of the people that want other 2 seater's like the Tornado want it just to play online in MP. I am sure most of them just want to experience what it feels like to operate a Tornado or F-4 Phantom because its thee aircraft that they grow up dreaming to fly one day. And even though they are not my personal dream aircraft like the Tomcat is but none the less I still have an interest to experience them for my self. Just like most of use would jump at the chance to test drive a 1989 Buick Grand National GNX or a 1970's Muscle car.
  18. I just ran across this great video of the Air tractor Fire Boss firefighting variant that I had to post here. It can be outfitted with either landing gear or pontoons so that it can scoop up water from lakes. Something like this would interest many new people world wide to DCS that other wise would not had giving DCS a consideration. And to further backup the Air tractors Street cred it also has a military combat variant called the Archangel.
  19. A Super Tucano is already in development by RAZBAM. But it would be interesting to get the Air Tractor Archangel because it would open the possibilities also getting all of its civilian variants like the one for fire fighting that could be outfitted with pontoons or with landing gear.
  20. There is one other aircraft that is already in DCS that is technically British, the AV-8B Harrier. Plus the Sea Harrier FRS.1 is also in the pipeline by RAZBAM to go along with the upcoming Falklands map. But I do understand what you are trying to say through. There is little British representation in DCS at the moment. But slowing but surly they will come. From what I understand the RAF F-4 differ significantly to the other American and export versions. So I can understand why it would be good for another 3rd party to do those. I for one would like to see a Blackburn Buckaneer. It was the last combat aircraft engineered and built entirely by the British.
  21. Hopefully we can get a Fire Hawk variant whenever the Black Hawk comes to DCS. Or there could be a possibility of getting the Fire Hawk first if Cal Fire contracts ED to make them one for simulator training. Anyone know someone over at Cal Fire? jaja
  22. If you all were to follow RAZBAM's Facbook page you would know that they are currently working on the AMX. They had posted this picture along with some other on Aug,2020.
  23. Even if you don't have an interest in firefighting it would benefit you in the long term because of the increased sales of the helicopter modules outfitted with firefighting equipment.
  24. I had suggested the same thing before because there is no other simulator out there that fills this nitch. I bet it would attract a whole new fan base that was not interested in DCS before because it was a typical combat simulation but would be interested in combating wild fires. All DCS has to do is to add the necessary coding for the creation of wildfire missions and add the firefighting skin and loadout (water bucket or fixed tank) for the Huey which is based on the same UH-1H variant that is already in DCS to get the ball rolling and attract a new potential 3rd party that would specialize in firefighting.
  25. Exactly, because you would still be in combat except it would be Combating forest fires.
