The F-104 was added not too long ago to another popular online flight war game without naming it. And from what I have experienced so far going up against them is that they have been a royal pain in the rear because they are so fast that they can quickly intercept aircraft out of nowhere. They have become such an Apex predator that I have come to detest them. So much so that I take extra pleasure when I am able to shoot one down or see one going down in flames. They may not be great dog fighters but they don't need to be to be a lethal killer by just doing boom and zoom strikes from a high altitude. If the F-104 where to get added to DCS I am sure there would be a lot of pissed off pilots especially those flying the more advanced flying computers.

planes that you would like to see in DCS?
Evoman replied to Erich Alfred Hartmann's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Per Razbams's statment below these aircraft are planned. I have not seeing anything regarding the A-4. Each of these already have a 3d developer assigned, who is currently busy with already scheduled and licensed developments, so they are NOT a PRIORITY for the time being. IA-58 Pucara Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both) Dassault Super Etendard Sea Harrier FRS.1 Also a RAZMAB representative had made this comment on their FB page regarding their current timeline. "The AMX, EE Lightning and Sea Harrier can be expected after the F-15, Mig23 and Super Tucano. " -

Your in luck. RAZBAM is currently working on the Super Etendard to flesh out the Falklands map they are also working on. -
I support this idea as it would just be a visual aid for training and not an easy or cheat mode like most of the other threads have been asking for. As "refueling is a skill that must be learned and mastered" at least a visual aid like this would help people to fish for the drogue for them selves.

You can attribute that to the Russian government's strict restrictions on the information and data of their military aircraft. If it was not for that, don't you think ED would had done some newer Russian aircraft by now. Unfortunately it is out of ED's and hands until something changes with those restrictions. So I suggest taking you compliant to the Kremlin.

Pilot external Walk around feature - Enter/exit all aircraft
Evoman replied to Matt_j25's topic in DCS Core Wish List
This is something ED has already stated that they plan to do eventually to add to the realism. See the below interview at 1:17:46. -

This is realistically the best expectation one can have for prototype aircraft. -

I don't think a low fidelity helicopter is needed if all you are looking for is a basic trainer type helicopter to learn to fly in. I for one could also use such a helicopter since I was unable to fly the Huey successfully in just a few days of a free to fly event. With the OH-58 Kiowa currently in development it would be great if ED could work something with Polychop to get a TH-57 Sea Ranger variant out of it to be used as a basic helicopter trainer to be included in the DCS free download. -
I came here looking for some more info about the similarities between the OH-58 and the civilian variants. I was trying to find out how similar the OH-58 and the TH-57 Sea Ranger would be to possibly get a trainer variant out of the work that has been done on the Kiowa. From what I have read it looks like the TH-57 is a derivative of the Bell Jet Ranger 206.

My list is actually realistic. F-4 Phantom II - Would prefer Vietnam era but would be happy with other newer variants. A-6 Intruder Blackburn Buccaneer C-130 F6F Hellcat S-3 Viking -

Just curious if you would even be interested in trying out older jets just to experience them for your self. Kind of like you might prefer to own modern sports cars but given the chance to drive an old school muscle car would you drive it just to see what they were like? -

Evoman replied to Erich Alfred Hartmann's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The last time there was a free to try event I tried out the Huey. However that was my very first time trying to fly a helicopter in DCS. And even though I had a knowledge of helicopter controls and experience flying in other games, I was still not able to fly it well enough in just a few days of training to convince me of buying any helicopter module. This made me realize that ED really needs to add a basic helicopter trainer like a TH-57 Sea Ranger to the free aircraft that come with DCS. That way I can practice on a trainer until I feel ready and confident to spend money on an aircraft I know I can fly first. -

Evoman replied to The_Chugster's topic in DCS Core Wish List
When there isn't sufficient data to make a full fidelity representation of an aircraft ED wont even consider it because it would not represent the quality they aspire to specialize in. In my opinion the only way you could possibly have a Comanche representation in DCS is by the means of a Mod that uses an existing modules systems like the Apaches when it releases. -
This is something that ED will eventually have to add to flesh out logistical operations. That way when ever other logistical aircraft get added like a C-130 or a C-2 Greyhound the system will already be in place and ready to use.

You must really be new. The Eurofighter is currently in development by True Grit Technologies. Here is the latest updates I could find. -
Would you pay for an additional Version Pack for a module?
Evoman replied to Mig Fulcrum's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Some variants are like a whole new aircraft in terms of how they fly and capabilities they have. One such example is the F-4 Phantom. There are some variants that just differ slightly and others that differ significantly to the point that it can no longer be considered the same aircraft. Then there are the Naval variants that are modified for carrier ops. -
I agree on several of your points from experience. Every time there is a free to fly event I tell as many of my friends about it. But even if they are interested they may be busy with something else at that time and end up forgetting about it. So the timing may not always be ideal for everyone. However even if someone happens to give it a try there are other determining factors that will affect their impressions. Not having a HOTAS is a big determining factor in just how much someone will enjoy the experience as a pilot. Which is why inexperienced friends will have a better experience trying it out as a RIO or gunner since they are basically just going along for the ride with minimal instruction. It would be great if ED could work out some sort of method to allow demo rides anytime that could be restricted to a specific DEMO server and functions. I think having this feature will attract more interest to DCS and result in more perspective buyers.

On the contrary. If the trainers were to be the only ones with the added perk of giving friends a ride and training them it would actually increase the desirability of owning at least one trainer. I haven't flown my L-39 in a few years because I rather fly other aircraft I enjoy better. But if such a perk were to be added to all trainers you better believe I would dust it off to use it more often to introduce friends to DCS. But I guess this might be too late for ED to take advantage now that the T-45 Goshawk free mod is in development.

I was just thinking about this very thing these past few days. I have a lot of friends I have told about DCS over the years but at the most two of them have downloaded DCS. But after they tried it with the SU-25T while using a keyboard and mouse well they ultimately lost interest. But I bet that If I could take them for a ride in my F-14 as RIO where they just have to go along for the ride off a carrier and back it would leave a better impression on them. Then if they would like to give it a try I could start them off in my L-39 with them as the pilot an me as the instructor. Which by the way it would be great if we could at the very least be able to give access to the pilots seat to friends in only the trainers. But I very much like the idea of a Buddy-Key System to at least be able to give friends a demo ride.

I like the ME262 but the Hellcat is my all time favorite warbird since I flew them in War thunder. Now I even own an RC model of a Hellcat because I love that much. I just enjoy its flight envelope for some reason. I have this same model of the Hellcat.

If you could pick any map next, what would it be? (Poll Vote)
Evoman replied to dimitri18's topic in DLC Map Wish List
Right now i don't really have a favorite map but if a Vietnam map were to be added it would defiantly be my top favorite. It would also motivate me to play more online to do a few strike sorties from a carrier every now and again. With the A-7 Corsair II coming it would be a great scenario for it. Plus the Huey was more heavily used in Vietnam than any other conflict that I am aware of. So it would be a hit among Huey pilots. -

M4ti140's idea is pretty much the same as mine and it was also the general consensus when a similar thread was discussed not that long ago pertaining to F-4 Phantom variants. I suggest you read through it to get a better understanding. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/263742-would-you-be-willing-to-buy-multiple-f-4-modules/ I also did not vote because the options did not include this option. -
The main reason why VNAO decided to make the T-45 Goshawk was because there was no good Naval trainer available that they could recommend to new comers that were interested in getting into DCS Naval flight. Most newbies that started off with the F/A-18 would usually be overwhelmed by its complexity that it would just turn them off. Check this out this interview with VNAO at 30:50min.

Want F-117A Nighthawk - high fidelity module
Evoman replied to Cigar Bear's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Like Joyrocks said the F-117 is still in service as a test bed and has even taken a role as aggressor at some Red flag events. I recommend reading this great article to learn more about it. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/35748/f-117-nighthawks-now-appear-to-be-flying-as-adversaries-in-red-flag-aerial-war-games
