The Dassault Super Mystere might have a case for it since it was also used by the Israeli Air Force. It saw action in the 1967 Six-Day War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

I had commented before that I have seen several comments over the years from people that they would be more interested in DCS if there were some sort of support aircraft. But of course there always has to be that one guy chiming in that it would be a niche aircraft because he can't phantom too many people having an interest in such a thing. Besides a KA-6 is not a major difference in terms of the general systems such as the engines.

I have seen many people over the years comment that they have no interest in flying combat missions in DCS. The few of those that still do fly in DCS do it just in single player mode because they enjoy DCS’s great flight model. However a lot of those same people have also expressed that if there were something like an E-2 Hawkeye or tanker they would me more interested in taking part in support missions. "Would love to see an E-3 Hawkeye join us in DCS. Being a Commercial pilot, that would make my day. All this Hornet stuff is far too stressful. LOL"

Making any low fidelity model is far easier than a full fidelity because of licensing requirements to acquire all of the necessary data and permissions. So until ED or a 3rd party can acquire the requirements its a no go.
-
I would also like to see the F-100 come to DCS but ED has already stated that they are not interested in century fighters at this time. So it would pretty much be up to a 3rd party to do it. I feel like its going to take a new 3rd party that has a passion for century fighters for it to be possible.

The main issue with the Prowler variant would be all of the electronic warfare equipment and radar which would mostly likely still be classified.
-
No doubt that the Arrow would be an interesting aircraft to fly in DCS if it were possible. I say if it were possible because in order to make any high fidelity module for DCS all of the flight data would be required. Which unfortunately all the documentation and data was destroyed when the project was shut down.

This is a great definition as to what exactly is considered a game or a simulation. With that said DCS should continue to focus more on achieving being as authentic and realistic as possible. However I see no problem with there being some training aids added to better help people be able to refuel and land without having to invest too much time. For those still wanting an auto mode to just have fun then the new MAC game would be a better fit them.
-
You obviously did not get the point that even for a so called kiddie game it was hard because it did not have any automatic modes for refueling and landing. Back in the day the average person that played Top Gun ended up throwing in the towel because it was actually difficult for those that were not really dedicated to it. It was defiantly not like the average kiddie game that most played just to have fun. Which in a way could be compared to DCS vs other easier games out there.
-
I think this would be a great solution to actually help train people to refuel. Even the old Top Gun game for the 8bit Nintendo had something similar without no auto refuel mode. Heck the first time I attempted to refuel in my Tomcat in DCS I had fashbacks to how difficult my younger self had refueling a Tomcat on the NES. But I eventually got it down.

Before any aircraft can even be considered for development a license must first be obtained. Having a license also allows for easy access to all of the required data from the manufacturer themselves. Even remote control aircraft manufacturers are bound to this restriction to point.

ED has already stated that they have no plans of doing the Super Hornet any time soon. So it would be up to the 3rd parties to do one.

It was mentioned in this Q&A interview with ED at question #55 at 1:36:30. I recommend everyone to hear this entire interview to be more up to date.

The biggest benefit of using the standalone is that there are far more sales available through out the year than Steam. The sales also come first to the standalone. On top of that you earn points with every purchase that can be used towards a next purchase. And from what I saw the free to try before you buy events are only available trough the standalone. Not sure if that will still be the case.

Even airline pilots have a standard procedure of calling out who has control of the aircraft. Before they take over the controls they say "My aircraft".

RAZBAM has stated in their Facebook page in comments that the AMX, English Electric Lightning and Sea Harrier can be expected after the F-15E, Mig-23 and Super Tucano. They have the following aircraft in their plans or pipeline to fill out the Falklands. IA-58 Pucara Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both) Dassault Super Etendard Sea Harrier FRS.1
-
I hate to break it to you but ED has already stated that they have no plans to make the F-15C into a full fidelity module in the near future. You can hear it for your self straight from the horses mouth in this interview at 1:36:30min.

That is true but I just found out about that ED has a contract stipulation that requires in some form or another that all product models/files/etc are released to ED if a dev drops. Even with out having to be forced to provide the data it would be in Polychop's best interest to work with ED anyways to essentially give themselves a boost in sales of the OH-58D that would result from it. I can even imagine Polychop more than happy to do the work themselves as it would benefit them a lot.
-
ED did mention that they have been re-evaluating the free aircraft to bring in new people to DCS. And one of those considerations should be a basic trainer helicopter. With the OH-58 Kiowa coming soon, ED should take advantage of the development that has been done to add the trainer variant that the military uses called the TH-57 Sea Ranger to the line up of free aircraft. Something like that would really increase interest and sales on the helicopter modules.

I have seen the same thing happen over on the RC airplane forums. Every time a new model is announced there are always those that either love it and its an instant buy and those that are upset because it is nothing they would remotely consider. Except that RC hobbyist are even picker because even though it might be something they would consider it also has to be at the the right scale size, details and price.
-
I totally agree. The newer fly by wire aircraft are easy to fly at the edge but the compromise is a computer dampened experience. But with the F-14 you can actually feel like you are in full control of it and I love all the feed back that the aircraft gives off. You don't need all the top tech to be a Top Ace. Check out what the IAF top Ace Giora Epstein says about his experience flying the Mirage III vs the F-16 at 42:08.

Working Radar at Ground Bases and for EWR / AWACS
Evoman replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I would also like to see a basic AWACS controller station implemented to get the ball rolling in this feature. And maybe down the road it can be gradually updated as the radar tech is improved. By the way a very similar topic had already been discussed before in these forums. Here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-world-2-5/dcs-wishlist-aa/267808-awacs-controller-station -
I think that concept would be more feasible and a better fit within the Modern Air Combat ecosystem. ED wants to keep DCS pure full fidelity hence the reason why they are moving away from FC style aircraft. Although one good thing that can come from this, is that there would be more aircraft that would be partially done if ED or one of the third parties are able to obtain a license to upgrade one of the aircraft to full fidelity in the future.

Better Naval combat and CA interface for it
Evoman replied to FalcoGer's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I totally agree that the Naval operations needs improving. The main issue is that DCS already has most of their resources tided up in with what they do best which is aircraft. I recently saw the game play for a new Submarine simulator that is under development called Modern Navel Warfare that is light years ahead of what ED would be able to do. So that gave me the idea that they should collaborate together to bring a great submarine simulation to DCS while helping each other out. That way ED does not have to devote too much of their precious time and resources to add it to DCS. -
I just came across this new Submarine simulator under development that looks to be very high fidelity. DCS should consider collaborating with them so that they can take care of the Sub simulation and ED can focus on what they do best with aircraft. That way subhunters like the S-3 Viking could really be useful and popular in DCS. Working together they could really expand the battlefield more than they ever could alone.
