Below is an interview with ED in which they stated they have no interest in doing the F-15C, Super Hornet, Tornado and others at this time.

The F-111 may not be at the top of my list like the A-6 Intruder and Blackburn Buccaneer which is another low level flyer but I do consider it an interesting and unique aircraft. Some interesting facts about the F-111 is that the early A models had a high maintenance and failure rate. Once the A models got upgraded to the D standard with more advanced electronic systems they became more reliable. So if we get the A models I would hope they would also have the same failure rates to make them even that much more realistic. :megalol:

The only aircraft I can think of being considered mind melting that would be some what feasible to do would be the F-117 Nighthawk. The SR71 could also be considered mind melting but because it is basically just a spy plane it would not have much use in DCS.

By these comments it looks like a lot of people are not up to date on the latest statements regarding new forth coming aircraft. Heatblur next project they would like to do if they can obtain a license for is the A-6 Intruder. RAZBAM has these aircraft in the pipline to complete the Falklands map A-58 Pucara Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both) Dassault Super Etendard Sea Harrier FRS.1 Below is an interview with ED in which they stated they have no interest in doing the F-15C, Super Hornet, Tornado and others.

I would also like to eventually see the E-2 and EA-6B come to DCS to bring a new support mission set. Hopefully once the A-6 Intruder gets done by Heatblur they might consider making a EA-6B Prowler variant.

Why can't we have some modern Russian planes with clickable cockpit?
Evoman replied to Pandacat's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Just by the your question I can tell you don't read these forums often because this question is thee top question that gets asked the most by newcomers that don't bother to do a little research. -
You must have been out of the loop for while. At the moment Heatblur is making an AI A-6 Intruder model with the intention of turning it into a high fidelity module when they finish wrapping up the F-14A and if they can get the necessarily data and license to do it. So once an Indruder gets done then there could possibly be a chance of there being an EA-6 Prowler variant in the future if the stars line up right. By the way I recommend changing the title of your thread to: EA-6 Prowler to avoid confusion. Check out this page for the latest info and discussions on the A6. https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/englis...ur-simulations

You can't expect DCS to change their focus from military aircraft because that has always been their focus since they started. Even their name tells you that their main focus is military aircraft. Digital Combat Simulator. Even when non-combat military aircraft get requested here there is a push back from like half of the community because they feel like that would just delay the development of other combat aircraft that are missing in DCS. Only in recent years has DCS been able to grow their offerings thanks to more supporters and 3rd parties making all these modules. And that is mostly due to the expense and time it takes to make a high fidelity module. So if they are going to invest that much time and money into the development of a module they want to make sure it sells well enough to at least break even.
-
Not sure if you have realized it yet but there is a long list of other aircraft that keep getting requested in these forums that people want more than anything else. So you can probably take into account that they are already at the top of Eagle Dynamics and the other 3rd parties list too. Some of those top request aircraft that are helicopters are: AH-64 Apache CH-47 Chinook UH-60 Black Hawk AH-1 Cobra CH-53E Super Stallion I am all for some diversity but until those helicopters get made first, I don’t see the developers in any rush to make what you want when there is a bigger demand for other helicopters. How ever there could be a chance of it getting made into a module if someone were to contract ED to make them a simulator of the EC135. That is reason we have certain modules like the YAK-52. The only pure search and rescue helicopters I can realistically see getting made in the near future are what is found aboard ships to rescue downed pilots like the SH-60F Sea Hawk or SH-3 Sea King/HH-52 Seagurad. Also keep in mind that even if ED or any of the other developers wanted to do an EC135 they would have to be granted a license by Eurocopter first.
-
I am just surprised you are even asking about this considering you joined these forums in 2016. I guess you have either not being around much or you still have not caught on to the requirements needed to develop any aircraft into a module. I recommend seeing this interview with ED to get up to date on the latest.

The hustler has been requested over in the RC forums too. But because of its a design the top modeler from a particular company has stated that even though its one of the his favorite jets it would be too complex and expensive to make into a viable RC model. It has more chances of being made as a simulation than a real life RC model.

Another good support aircraft would be the KA-6D which is the A-6 tanker variant when we get the Intruder. Each squadron was equipped with three or four of them and they were often swapped (cross-decked) from carrier to carrier as one returned from deployment and another departed. This was due because there were not enough of them to go around. Check out this movie clip from the Final Countdown where KA-6D refuel some thirsty Tomcats.

I would like to see other aircraft type on carrier decks that would bring a new type capability and interest in DCS such as the E-2 Hawkeye. I always see comments around of people that are not particularly interested in combat missions but would love to just fly around providing support in something like a Hawkeye. Here is one such quote I saw on youtube. "Would love to see an E-3 Hawkeye join us in DCS. Being a Commercial pilot, that would make my day. All this Hornet stuff is far too stressful. LOL"

It is possible but it would never meet ED's the strict requirements to qualify to become an official module for DCS. There is an unofficial A-4 Skyhawk MOD that was developed by the community for DCS but it has its issues due to it being an unofficial module. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3930571 However one of the other unofficial modules that there was for the MB-339A is going to be made official. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2020-09-25/

The first requisite that any 3rd party has to have before they can even start any work making a high fidelity module is a license from the manufacturer. And for manufacturer to even consider giving out a license most of the sensitive systems have to be declassified.
-
I agree. I am one those that keeps up with the latest news and announcements so I was able to recognize this thread more of a plea in disguise to Heatblur. But for someone new or that does not keep up they might get their hopes up in vain. I actually would prefer a Buccaneer over a Tornado as it was the last all British build jet along with its low altitude flying capabilities. But for once I would like to see the Tornado come to fruition just so these community of Tornado lovers can rest in peace. If anything they should be pleading with the manufacture and the government ententes to finally declassify it enough do it would actually feasible to do.

Let’s not forget that we will be getting a Falklands map in the near future. But the most interesting thing that will be coming out of the Falklands map is some of the period aircraft and assets that are already in development or planned will make the Falklands map the most period correct as possible. Aircraft already in development or planned: IA-58 Pucara Mirage III (or) IAI Dagger (either one, not both) Dassault Super Etendard Sea Harrier FRS.1 https://razbamsimulations.com/index.php/dcs/south-atlantic-terrain-project For me one of the top sought after maps is Vietnam and I didn't even grow up that era. Here are some other aircraft from your list that are currently in development or planned A-7E – In development by FlyingIron Simulations A-6E – Planed by Heatblur after they finish with current projects and if they can obtain a license F-4E – Was stalled but it is in the pipeline once ED finishes up other projects. By recent interviews they stated that they are undecided yet on whether to do just one variant or more.
-
I also agree that that this era would be the most ideal to have more realistic expectations towards a more balanced opposition forces. Plus having earlier aircraft like thee F-18A and F-16A would not only fill that era but would also attract more people to fly them. I have the F-18C but I have hardly flown it because I rather put my free time in keeping current in my favorite modules the F-14 and Viggen than learning another complex aircraft.
-
Unfortunately this is the reality that comes with a combat simulator when the focus if full fidelity. Which I am not complaining about because it is what it is. It will have its pros and its cons. That's why I roll my eyes every time I see someone complaining about there not being more REDFOR aircraft. Then when they learn that there is a limitation with making full fidelity aircraft they want to start adding FC3 level aircraft just to get something that looks like a Russian aircraft. But if they are going to go that route then they are better off with other flight combat games that already do that.
-
From what I remember reading is that the A-10C was done early on because the Air National guard contracted ED to make them a simulator. And as part of the deal the National guard granted ED all the necessary data and a license to sell a civilian version with some classified features omitted. The Yak-52 also came about because of a similar contract deal. So incase you haven't caught on yet for a particular aircraft to get done it all has to due with two very important things, the data and a license. When ED or any 3rd party is granted a licenses that includes access to all the necessary data.

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
Evoman replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
In case you are out of the loop ED had stated in the below interview that they currently have no plans of doing the Super hornet. Which pretty much leaves it up to the 3rd parties to do it if they are able to. -
You misunderstood what I meant. I meant for there to be a way of having an A-10A full fidelity upgrade option available as a different module just like there is going to be one for the A-10C Thunderbolt II. The plain old A-10C will still be there in your aircraft menu but after purchasing the upgrade there will be one for the A-10C II as a different module. So there could be one for the plain simple FC3 A10A and a different module for a full fidelity A-10A. And no, the A10C in game mode is more of a cheat mode. I am looking for the full realistic clickable cockpit experience in a more straight forward operation with out the complexities of MFD's.
