I'm not an internet lawyer but AFAIK since it's paid for by US taxpayers you can use the likeness and military designation but not the company name that produced it? Seems like I remember BIS getting into trouble with this before. Anyways , always a good idea to get approval from the manufacturer. Hopefully it's not that this far in though...what if they said no after it was 80% complete and announcement was made. Ouch.

Will there be an FC3 subforum? Too confusing with FC3 now part of DCS:W I don't like sifting through FC1 and FC2 posts. Many people still using those programs and FC3 should be seperate from that as it's not really the same product....Thanks

I have the old Lockon Gold which included Flaming cliffs but I only installed lockon so that I could load FC3. I didn't patch it or do anything. When I try to uninstall it a window pops up then closes immediately and the program will not uninstall. Any idea how to fix this??

Original Idea from Peter P. I just added it to the other FC3 aircraft. These files enable 6DOF and also increases view limits for 3 screen users so you can view the whole cockpit. Note: if you are using TrackIR I recommend to edit your controls config for EACH aircraft under Axis Commands and remove the TrackIR_Z axis from zoom view so you can map it to a different axis or use the keyboard. Replace these 2 files in your Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View folder. You should make backups of your original files but if you don't all you have to do is run the DCS world repair tool and it will reload the originals. 6DOFMultimonFixes1.22.rar

Nope, 30 megabit , update doesn't replace everything only changed files. Can't tell what the transfer rate from update server is..

Autoupdater updated all my modules too, very nice. Download only took 15 minutes. Didn't have to wait 3 hours and fight through slow torrents or full FTP servers.

I take that back...they like it as long s they can sell it to you via their "app store" on Win 8 :P Technically yes they sell at a loss on the hardware, but they quickly make it back on advertising and licensing fees. +1 ......Way more room to work on your system. Less noise is also nice I don't hear my computer anymore. Also you don't have to worry about that 2-3 pound heat sink snapping apart your motherboard or breaking circuit traces when you move your PC.

Sony could have had something special if they would have continued allowing Linux on Playstations that could double as computers... would have made it available to a lot of people and they could have created a whole new niche for themselves. Instead they chose the draconian/corporate greed/Microsoft mode ditched it and proceeded to sue kids that wanted to jailbreak their PS3 to run Linux... The time for innovation in gaming and OSes is past. All there are now is heavy hitters with a seemingly endless supply of cash fighting over market share. MS won and they have so much money that they will either buy or stifle anything that could compete with them. MS doesn't like PC gaming anymore they want us to forget about it so they can spoon feed us their XBOX garbage and DLC's...

I get 30 FPS now but it looks like garbage. Looks like they gutted it make it run....It's been a year and I've been very patient, now I'm deleting this garbage off my computer and moving on. Plenty of other decent sims out there.

I know it's early in the game for many 3rd party projects but my question is this: Will they be able to be controlled by AI (IE wingmen) or are they going to be player controlled only? Does each dev have to make their own AI module? Seems like this would be the case especially if it's not a SFM aircraft. Would be a shame if we can only use them as player slots in the mission editor.

I can't stand the shimmering on the plants/trees. I call them dancing pixels... You can get rid of them if you have a strong enough video card. (Nvidia control panel) Antialiasing Transparency set to 4x or 8x supersample( there is still some shimmer with 4x but you have to look close) in Nvidia all other settings at defaults. In game setting must be set for MSAA 8xQ or higher. Turn of TSSAA. No more dancing pixels but terrible framerates if you use 3 screens like I do :/ I must admit though after the latest update I get an acceptable 25 FPS with these settings at 5880 x 1080. I'm using driver version 306.97 but this works on older drivers-GTX 680

Lots more to consider now that temps effect engine performance. You can't just run the engine and RPM full blast 100% all of the time I noticed that the oil tends to overheat pretty quick if you do. Up into the redline in less than 2 minutes. Backing off the RPM and throttle just a little bit and oil temps come down to normal pretty quickly. You must watch these in dogfights now, it's a whole different ballgame. Edit: just did a quick test - at 100% throttle and RPM if you are pulling high G's the oil temp goes up. Prolong maneuvers doing this will overheat and sieze.

SLI is a mixed bag. For some it works for others not so good. Depends a lot on drivers, game settings and Nvidia profiler settings. It's good for keeping framerates up on multimonitor setups and big highres screens and/or max graphics settings with 16x + AA. If you are just using 1920 x 1080 or less SLI is a total waste for DCS series as the CPU can't feed the cards fast enough. Edit: as to the OP disabling Aero in the game may help or doing a quick alt-tab helps too. As suggested get your drivers updated to the latest...

All heli's on same radio channel and properly configured in ME? a copy of the mission would help too unless it's a default mission?
