  1. That blackshark profile is hardcoded into the driver. It is based on DCS:BS 1.0 so all the compatibility settings and such may no longer apply. I suggest to get Nvidia inspector and remove the hard coded profile and make a new one pointing your DCS.exe located in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin ( Win 7 x64, may be diff if you are using 32bit or XP) If you ever want to revert just use system restore if it doesn't work out or reinstall the driver since those are the only 2 ways to get the default profiles back once you delete them. Nvidia isn't real keen on updating their driver profiles for patches or newer versions of games using updated graphics engines using the same .exe name.
  2. Unless it's a hack you didn't run DX10 on XP. I know there was a hack to make iDX10 work under XP a long time ago with modified drivers and directX etc if that's what you are using then it's probably your problem. Also for some reason With DX9 and DCS series it seems some games install a slightly different version of DX9 that makes DCS not work. It's happened to me several times. Best thing is reinstall the game and tell the installer to install DX and MS visual C++ runtimes again.
  3. I think the problem starts with the startup sequence because right now you can power on the battery and radios and request startup. You will not get approval to startup until AFTER the engine is running. It seems the radio doesn't work unless the engine is on so it throws everything else in the sequence out of wack. The ATC has always worked like described above, IF you didn't get clearance then you kind of get it after the fact. It's the same thing with landing clearances etc. from pg 154 of the flight manual: RADIO COMMUNICATIONS There are two optional modes of using the radio that depend on the "EASY COMMUNICATION" OPTION under the GAMEPLAY tab. The radio communications window is accessed by separate keys depend of difficulty radio settings. Upon doing so, the list of radio command recipients is displayed along with the function (Fx) key required to view its sub-command window. Easy Communication is enabled: The radio communications window is accessed by a press of the [\] forward slash key (this is for US keyboards, other language keyboards may vary). After the command selection the radio or interphone will be selected (if required) and tuned (if required) automatically. "AUTO" caption that will indicate radio auto-selection. Also [\] key will close radio command menu. When the radio menu is displayed, recipients are color-coded as follows: Recipients on which at least one of the radios is tuned to is colored white. Recipients on which at least one of the radios can be tuned to but is not currently on the correct frequency is colored gray. Recipients that cannot be contacted due to range or terrain masking / earth curvature are colored black. Each will also have their modulation / frequency listed. When you select a recipient, the appropriate radio will automatically be tuned to communicate with the selected recipient. After a recipient has been selected to communicate with, the appropriate radio will be automatically tuned to the correct frequency. Easy Communication is not enabled: Player should use Push To Transmit (PTT) button [RAlt-\] to open radio command panel. PPT button will open and close radio communication window for current radio. When recipients are displayed, there is no color-coding of availability and no listing of their modulation / frequency. This is the more realistic mode and requires you to know the correct modulation / frequencies for each recipient and you must manually enter the frequencies on the correct radio.

  5. I had my headphones on and my GF walked up and said" Your computer sounds funny" I looked down at my logitech keyboard and saw the high temps and fan speed on the LCD. Took off my headphones and could hardly hear the GPU fans at all. Hit the power button immediately.
  6. bad driver How ironic that after I reply to your thread I have the very same issue a day later... Last night both my 480gtx hit 102c using this driver. It's as if the fans quit working. Afterburner said it was at 95 % fan but it was not they were only running at 50% after I quickly exited the gAme and restarted my pc the fans were working normally again. You could hear the fans instantly speed up after the restart. This Is the first time its happened after using this driver for weeks but it almost burnt out my cards ...
  7. Maybe he refers to a multiplayer server seeing it as altered files and not allowing you to play? I hardly ever mess with skinning anymore so I'm not sure what files fall under the integrity check..
  8. Just kind of curious what FPS you get in game( hit rtcontrol + pause). If your VSYNC isn't turned on you are probably pushing 120 FPS. I recommend to turn it on and limit your FPS to 60 which will in turn reducce your GPU temps. External views in DCS run at really high framerates, but in cockpit view not so much.
  9. Try setting to 1 screen and use your full resolution of 5760 x 1080 your FPS will double and it wont look so weird. Keep in mind it will be stretched at the edges no matter what you do. If you are running 3 of the same screens then it's pretty straight forward. Here are a few links to check out: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815 be carefull here some info is out of date This one still works good and is applicable to P-51 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84270
  10. Are you using the " 3 monitor" setting in the game or just using 1 virtual screen with all 3 displays spanned across it? Lots of good info in the A-10 section that still applies to P-51 as far as setting up your monitor config. Also what hardware you are using and resolutions would be helpful
  11. It almost sounds like a heat issue. My 480's run at about 89C when playing so that sounds about right. Could be your card is getting full of dust or your power supply is maxed out and not able to provide enough power for the GPU in which case it crashes or gives you a TDR ( The display driver has stopped responding and recovered) How big is your PSU? the 580 consumes about 244 watts when it's running at load. Also a word of warning about beta drivers. One time I installed a beta and one of my 8800GTX's burnt...because it was a beta and the driver didn't properly work with the fan control chip on my card. WHen using betas you should always monitor GPU temps and/or fan speed with MSI Afterburner or evga precision.
  12. Just embarking on some formation flying with the P-51. My question is this: What is the best way to manage your speed as a group as far as engine management goes? Should you set a manifold pressure and adjust the RPM or vice versa or both? seems like you get better response by leaving the engine manifold pressure alone mostly and increase/ decrease RPM otherwise it is too much tourqe and starts to roll then you have to constantly trim. For now just trying gentle turns and level flight etc, no loops or aerobatics.
  13. Might be related to model LOD problems? I think Balze pointed some of those out, It would make sense that it would be something like that.
  14. My guess is it is some kind of safety?? Maybe there's a mechanical lock or check valve when the gear is down with no pressure? Seems like this would be the case as it would unlock the gear which would then buckle when you tried to touchdown? I don't know you would have to ask a rivet counter for some info like that.
  15. It's the programming software for TM joysticks: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=311&cid=1 I guess if you aren't sure what it is it's probably not installed.. You can also download the latest driver for the Cougar there
  16. The flight manual reccomends 46" manifold @ 2700 RPM for cruise I believe. Would be a good starting point for you tests. Then you have to account for the supercharger kicking up over 12k feet also.
  17. Are you using TARGET? if you are it invalidated your stick configs because it combines all the TM stuff into one controller. Also if you run TM stuff as admin you must run game as admin...
  18. Not sure if the fuel weight is accounted for yet but I notice a lot of people hardly ever switch tanks. result...imbalance wonky aircraft
  19. Seems like they are supposed to be momentary switches when pushed left or right. they are modulating dampers. Auto is the only position that is not momentary. IE if the auto positioning fails to modulate the dampers to maintain temperature then you can manually actuate the damper. The damper moves position open or close while holding the switch and stops when you don't hold it. That is desired behavior because not only do you not want it to not overheat but you are also forgetting you don't want to make it too cold. . They aren't supposed to be full open or full close otherwise you'd have no way to regulate the temperature. The temperature controls/gauges etc aren't fully modeled yet anyways so the switches seem to do pretty much nothing at this point.
  20. The radio doesn't turn on with the battery , it's turning on after I start the engine. Turn on battery etc. The radio light up so it appears to have power. Radio ATC "request startup"- No reply. Start engine radio cuts in and ATC is telling me startup denied....lol I'm not using easy communication option and I had the radio T/R switch in the right position so it's not that. radio fail.trk
  21. Thats the way it's supposed to work unless you have "easy communication " checked in game options. The way that radio works is Press to talk then when you let up the button you can recieve. Just read that in the manual last night.
  22. Same here, the only sim I can use it for zoom is ROF because they have an option for "smoothing" which gets rid of the jittering. I think I already asked in the wish list for a smoothing option before but can't remember for sure. Smoothing also helps with crummy rudder pedals like the ones for the G940....
  23. You cant do it within the game. You will have to use the saitek software and map the axis into 3 "bands" divide the axis up by 3 and have it send a macro for each band. Just be careful that you don't have it sending a continuous stream of characters. IIRC there is a keystroke and there is a macro, macro will only trigger off 1 time, this is what you want to use. Otherwise if you use a keystroke it will send that the whole time it is within the band.
  24. If you are using 64 bit OS then: Program Files(x86) is where 32 bit programs go and Program Files is where x64 programs go to. Switching things around is bad. IIRC there is a 64 bit activation and a 32 bit one so you can't just install wherever. Also as far as installing for admin...if you do so then everything that you use for the game must also be installed/run as admin or you will get wacky behaviour (IE TrackIR)
  25. Bubble gum and bailing twine :)
