    Warthog Covers

Got my covers today, thanks for the quick service Deadman.
  2. Before delving into LUA you could always try the custom snapviews / save view angle etc etc. Simply move the camera where you like and save the view. I haven't used these in quite a while because I've long since been using TrackIr but I think they should work fine? Just take different saves at diff zoom levels etc?

I saw my cover in your pic. Very nice. Too bad you guys didn't send your payment yet but now we know who will be getting their first :P
  4. Except for 1 thing: ATI/AMD make and sell their own cards, they were branded ATI as of the 5000 series and then switched to the AMD brand name 6000 series and beyond. Nvidia doesn't sell to consumers directly they only make workstation cards for OEM . The specific cards I had were ATI branded, so surely they could be faulted because they made the GPU, packaged it on the card and put their name on it. At the time I quit using ATI they had very poor warranty, they would lie and say it was a 2 year warranty but after the card fails after a year they say return it to where you purchased it....of course NewEgg says nada...it's MFR warranty send it back to ATI and round and round we go. Over a comparable timeframe of using Nvidia based products I've lost 1 card- an 8800GTX that died after like 4 years of daily use. I've built 2 PC's for friends using AMD based cards from Sapphire because money was an issue neither of these has had an issue. That's my personal experience.
  5. I have the Level 10GT ( not snow). It's an awesome case. Previously I had the CM Storm Sniper which is almost identical to the HAF except for the front and have nothing bad to say about CM products I just needed a little more room. My second choice would be the HAF X
  6. I have 2 USB monitors I use for MFD's ...not really a performance hit at all . The only caveat being is they will not play nice with Nvidia surround ...but then again neither would these as it would require a third graphics card ( would still need 2 cards even if using a GTX680) or one of the 6 monitor eyefinity cards from ATI...
  7. In case you guys didn't see it theres an X52Pro script using DirectOutput already in the game files (DCS World\Scripts\X52pro ) From what I can tell it just is an example and changes the fire button red. I tinkered with it a long time ago but it's a bit beyond my .lua skills.
  8. Every ATI (4 to be exact) card I've ever owned ends up with bad VRAM causing same issue as the OP - color bands....I quit using ATI in my gaming rigs.
  9. Take a look at this : http://www.power-grid.roccat.org/?page=overview I see lots of possibilities for using this. The iOS version beta is under way and now they need Android testers. Sounds like the app will be free and you have to pay if you want more than 2 "tabs" I'm excited cause theres really nothing worthwhile for Android currently...
  10. I hate to say it but if you want to fly more than 1 aircraft in a multiplayer DCS World game then using TARGET is out of the question because target remaps all the controllers to one unified control. Not sure how you can do it in the context of the game as TARGET reloads controls when you switch profiles ( IE as if you unplugged the controller) which will screw up the game controls. Best idea is to map all through the game. then you have custom settings for each aircraft. All axis can be tuned in the game same as TARGET. Also the shark has a decent default profile already built in to support TM WH. You can use it with minimal changes to our prefrence...
  11. Should use non conductive fluid and never have to worry about a leak http://www.xoxide.com/fluid-xp-extreme-coolant-green.html either that or Primochill....Fluid XP I can personally vouch for I saw my friends graphic card soaked with the stuff with the PC on and no poof...just a mess...
  12. Just ordered this off Amazon...for 14 dollars I figured why not. It is a copy of the original restricted manual given to pilots. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1411690400/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 A lot of duplicated info compared to the PDF that comes with the P-51D in our sim but I still like to have a printed manual.
  13. I really want to get a 690 but a little voice is telling me that in a few months the GK110 is going to come out and it will be about 25% faster than a 680GTX IE- very close to the performance of a 690 @ $1000.00 The thing is if you wait too long to get a 690 they will be gone and you will only find used ones with no warranty. I almost bought a 590 but they went out of stock and were discontinued. When I drop that much dough on a card I'm NOT getting one without a warranty , so that idea died....
  14. I've got the Corsair H100. It kicks a$$. As far as quality goes, well corsair doesn't even make the newer ones. CoolIt systems makes them for corsair as OEM and has droped out of selling directly to customers. The quality is very good. My previous liquid coolers were CoolIt's with peltiers etc....very good product. I have had zero probs with my H100 and it took all of 5 minutes to install.
  15. I would be concerned regarding only 2 gigs of video mem. I've seen my Vram usage go over 1600+ MB with 3 screens. Granted I use Nvidia but similar resolutions will yeild similar vram usage. I would venture a guess that when we finally get Nevada and an upgraded graphics engine you could easily break 2GB. My next upgrade I'm going for a 4 gig card...

Deadman you can put me down for 1 set of covers too. Sick of dusting off my WH :P
  17. Thanks for taking the time to go through this and make it into a nice PDF
  18. Insta crash Instantly crashes after login to master server. Game was working fine yesterday and no changes have been made to files or anything. DCS.log and crash logs attached. Looks like it crashes soon as it requests server list..... crash logs.zip
  19. Just a question , are you setting the wingspan to the actual size of aircraft or are you adjusting it to cover the wings as you look at it through the gunsight? My understanding is pilots and gunners were taught aircraft recognition so they knew exactly what setting to set for what enemy aircraft. In DCS I guess you'll have to look up wingspan size and make little list for yourself. If it's just P-51 dogfighting well then you should be able to use the same setting all the time? Edit: best advice someone gave to me is just turn on the fixed and gyro and draw an imaginary line between, squeeze off a few rounds and see if they are going in front or behind, your firing solution should always be along that imaginary line...
  20. This is a joke and a lie. I read some of the stories from the pilots. They want us to believe that these highly educated pilots couldn't feel their vest inflating? All 22? I call BS. The pilots also reported after effects lasting for days and weeks. I'm sorry but a vest isn't doing this. For 2 F-22 pilots to outright refuse to fly, blow the whistle and contact a congressman for protection it's not a stupid vest inflating...it's contaminated O2...if you read what the pilots say it sounds like carbon monoxide poisoning or some other chemical getting into their air scrubbers.
  21. The 4th monitor is an auxillary it doesn't need to be the same spec as the 3 for surround and cannot be incorporated into the surround ( unless you use some other thing like softTH) It can be used for say windows desktop so you can see teamspeak etc. Should be able to run helios ok on it and keep the performance of your 3 monitor surround in fullscreen.
  22. On my older PC build there's definitely a boost from Raid0 but these drives topped out at about 1/2 transfer rate of my new drive so it was very evident in program loading/windows boot time/etc. With newer drives they are so fast that after a certain point you can't really tell any difference (at least from a gamers perspective) You still get great benchmarks but that's about it.
  23. I'd try the latest Nvidia driver first before anything. Especially if you installed the drivers off the CD You could also try turning off intel speedstep in BIOS...got rid of all the crazy stuff for me. For us to really help you you should post full hardware specs and a dxdiag. Edit: 8 FPS is terrible for that kind of rig....someting is terribly wrong.
  24. It's right in the P-51D manual who knows why this argument goes on forever... http://books.google.com/books?id=SfwqCTY9I6MC&pg=PA15&lpg=PA15&dq=P-51D+mixture+lever&source=bl&ots=hOIEZzTRG-&sig=ZmSewI30Y-3pwAFq6539CJYcGVU&hl=en&sa=X&ei=3tAWUM-gFMmjqQGe94HACw&ved=0CE4Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=P-51D%20mixture%20lever&f=false
  25. Intel release notes? Trim (Microsoft Windows 7* only) This feature provides support for all pass-through solid-state drives (SSDs) in your storage system that meets the ATA-8 protocol requirements. Also, support is provided for SSDs that are part of a RAID 0 array. This feature optimizes write operations, helps reduce device wear, and maintains unused storage area on devices as large as possible.
