  1. Yes as long as you used the intel ports (blue or gray, not the navy blue ones those are your marvell controller)
  2. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3439&DwnldID=21593&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+7+Series+Chipset+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+DZ77SL-50Keng We finally get the update that passes the TRIM command for RAID 0 array. Definately want this driver if you are running SSD in RAID0
  3. Sometimes it does not show in purchase history but on the download page it will show you your serial number. Read this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=57556 BTW I reformat a lot and rebuild every 2 years I keep a logbook of all my serials because I run into the same issue as you :P
  4. If you use a Saitek joystick control or a Logitech G940( the programming software is nearly identicalas it was made by the same people) there are ways to turn a axis into "bands" you can split the axis into as many bands as you want. In this case 3.
  5. Damn you AirWolf I was almost happy with my setup until I saw this...now I'm going to have to work more overtime..
  6. Nope never knew there was one.... Thanks for the link everything working good now
  7. Downloaded and installed the training videos that say they are for DCSW The training videos cause the game to completely crash. I've tried to watch on both of my computers and it's the same result. I installed VLC after trying this and am able to manually open the videos with that so the files are not corrupted. Something in the game crashing video playback. I'ts not a video driver either as the 2nd system has an ATI card and gets the same crash.
  8. Nvidia 400 and 500 series has hardware limit of 3 screens of same make for surround(Using SLI) (1 giant virtual screen). 600 series adds capability for a 4th auxillary display doesnt have to be the same as the others but cannot be part of the surround. Another upside of the 600 series is that you don't have to use SLI to use 3 or 4 monitors. This seems to even apply to USB screens. I haven't been able to get any USB screen to work with nvidia surround enabled using displaylink devices. I used to run 1 large screen with 2 7 inch USB screens as MFD's and that works ok. Mis in Nvidia surround and its crash city. I have never been 100% sure if this is a true hardware limit or a driver imposed limit. ATI has cards that can do 6 screens but worse drivers/stability(IMO) than Nvidia.
  9. What hardware are you even using for your graphics? GPU/VRAM?
  10. Alt tab causes connect interrupted but also I've found that by not running TS3 there is less chance of connection interrupted. The CI failure is pretty ambiguous because as some beta testers stated many things can cause it so it makes it hard for use to nail down the exact cause when theoretically everyone could be having differnt issues to cause the CI. At any rate DCS series never had issues with TS3 or alt tab before hopefully it gets sorted.
  11. If you watch closely it is actually shifting them to the right, beyond the boundaries of the window and underneath the scrollbar. I really wish the UI would scale properly like a spreadsheet or webpage but alas everything is hard coded and has to be hand tweaked.
  12. In all DCS versions I get these HUGE scrollbars on the right side they cover the ping in multiplayer server browser. I also get them in server player list also anytime you touch the scrollbar the players names disappear. I realise one is GUI and 1 is mission editor but the problem is the same. Running (3) 1920 x 1080 monitors 5880x1080 bezel corrected , using your GUI fix in monitor config and also using the mission editor fix. Also some of the fonts are out of place and letters drop off. Any ideas?
  13. You don't have to deactivate, it reads your existing key from the registry. DCSW and older versions are completely independant of each other . You cannot use your BS1 key with DCS:World you must either purchase the upgrade from BS1 to BS2 or buy a new BS2 liscense. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=13&end_pos=136&lang=en That is the link to download the BS2 Upgrade module version for DCSW http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en That is the link for the A-10C module. After you have installed the new modules for DCS: World you really don't need to keep the old games installed and can uninstall if you want to free up HD space.
  14. Regarding the msvcr100.dll fix: what it is: Part of Microsoft Visual studio 2010 redistributable A microsoft developer has suggested a few things: 1) Do not refer this dll directly or indirectly in your application. In this case you just don't need it. 2) Package it with your application and install it whereever your application is installed. Many many developers choose this. 3) Install it from the link in my first post. (reinstalled the redist) Note: I am sure that you are not refering to this dll directly in your code as of now. Go back and check all the linked dlls which VS links for you by default and remove all of those which are not required. I don't see this file in my DCS World/bin folder is ED refrencing it but doesn't have a local copy in program directory so it uses whatever it finds in your system?? Could be crash source? a fix (KB976932) relating to the VC 2010 redist was pushed to my system on 4/12/12 As it stands now if I do a search of my PC I am finding 4 different variations of the file. one is 755k(my battlefield 3 directory), one is 750k (C:\Windows\SysWOW64) and one is 808K (C:\Windows\System32) also what appears to be a backup of each labeled msvcr100_clr0400.dll (the one in my SysWOW64 is 753k) If I go into file properties/details tab I'm also seeing that the version numbers are all different. No idea which version ED used to make their program or if an MS hotfix or windows update altered any of them. Back in the day we used to call this "DLL Hell" I see it is still alive and kicking. I thought by installing the VC redist that comes with the game we should have a current version? Every game I install these days wants to install it again and god only knows if it's a current version or not. Then windows update seems to install 3 or 4 hotfixes to this too... Maybe this should be elevated to a programmer who could say which version we should have? Edit: pretty sure ROF wanted to install this again too and they just had a patch not too long ago also...
  15. The game needs better server side controls and/or dedicated server for all this to work. Similar to Battlefield and Arma or griefers will ruin all the fun of it very quickly if MP isn't tweaked a lot. Waiting for months for a servman update or some such online play will be killed off by then. ED is making a huge leap forward with this project I hope they really invest some time into keeping the hacks and griefers in check. Items that need addressing: 1) Team balance 2) Prevent switching vehicles too fast 3) Zombie players of same IP on the other team reporting positions of enemy forces. 4) Auto kick/ban for teamkillers and or destroying own assets like warehouses 5) Player enabled voting to kick the ones that grief people. IE vehicle stealing, blocking runways and taxiways, damaging own runways etc etc. ( like in arma when your teamate shoots you in the leg to be a jerk but didn't KIA you so no kick) and the list goes on but you get the point.....
  16. This is from Nvidia , it allows you to enable the PCIE3.0 functionality for 670, 680 and 690 on X79 based chipset boards. They do not officially support it because Intel apparently never "officially" stated gen 3 on X79. If you have other chipsets or cards this is not for you. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/105062/0/filename/force-enable-gen3.exe
  17. ED already had posted pics of a 3D pit for an F16 and other pics of an Apache a long time ago...probably shelved due to no military contract to go hand in hand with to get to the fidelity they wanted. Also Nevada got shelved for 5 months too...so yeah things change.
  18. I'm having the same issue. Only when trying to go on some servers though. Specifically can't join Going Ugly's server but can connect to =STP= servers just fine. Not sure if it is because of a server side setting or if it's my config. Edit: DCS.log shows nothing useful 00107.616 INFO NET: sent serverlist request 00107.749 INFO NET: got serverlist reply. 00107.749 INFO NET: Parsed 9 servers. 00682.368 INFO NET: sent serverlist request 00682.449 INFO NET: got serverlist reply. 00682.449 INFO NET: serverlist hasn't changed, using cached version. 00682.450 INFO NET: Parsed 9 servers. Any other logs to check?
  19. Anyone able to get this to work with 3 screens? the FOV limits are worse with 3 screens(5880 x 1080 res) I cannot look down at the sides of the of the cockpit, its's very annoying. I've tried the server.lua file and also tried manually adjusting FOV limits to no avail , they don't seem to do anything. Edit: If i zoom all the way in I can pan a bit lower and see some of the buttons and switches but it is unplayable zoomed in that close.
  20. Look at that 8 pack of ALCM. During my SAC days in the cold war those would have been nukes. The B-52 is a fearsome weapon. During Desert Storm thousands Iraq soldiers were surrendering so fast after getting hit by our buffs that the army didn't know what to do with them all. We got to watch classified movies in the base theater of our boys giving them hell. Even though we were at war I felt sorry for the soldiers getting carpet bombed in their caves. Scary stuff.
  21. I wouldn't mind seeing a Vulcan B.Mk1 but i know very little of the british bombers from the cold war era.
  22. I'm making a new thread to seperate from the fighter wishlist. I know that no large aircraft are even hinted at yet but maybe some 3rd party will pick up the torch and give us something. I know multi crew positions hasn't been worked out yet but there are lots of large military aircraft out there that many would like to fly that would fit great into the DCS world battlespace. They are an important part of any Air Force. These are a few of my favorites, please add your own and hopefully someone will listen. US ----- B-1B Lancer B-52 G/H Bomber KC-135 Tanker C-17 Globemaster E-3 AWACS C-130 Transport AC-130 Gunship Russian --------- Il-76 Tu-26 Tu-160 Tu-95 Tu-16 Tu-22 Edit: I realise some are prop jobs ...but you get the point.
  23. At 15nm I assumed it was something different than a SA-19....yes they can detect you that far out but their missiles are only effective to like 6nm or so~depending on which version is modeled in the game. In that case not so hard to take out with an A-10..
  24. Radio back to command and ask why an A-10 is being tasked for a WW mission. That stuff should be dead before you are ever sent in to take out tanks. Not really the A-10's mission but it can be done with lots of practice. Stay low and use terrain if you can. If it's an open area .....well it's probably a suicide mission. Probably just bad mission design....
  25. Now the final questions can be: Who is making the F-16 and/or F-18 - I would venture a guess that one of these would be at the top of any 3rd party dev...that is unless ED is working on one of them. My guess would still be an F-16 for ED. With all the 3rd party announcements talk of the next DCS fighter aircraft is quiet for a while...they probably don't want to suck the wind out of the other teams sails.
