  1. Eagle Dynamics Graphics Engine (EDGE) = Image Generator (IG)
  2. Yes but if you look at the list of flyable aircraft excluding stretch goals: in combination with this: That leaves only the Mustang and the Dora.
  3. As I understood it, $40 will only be 2 if no stretch goals are reached and those are the Mustang and Dora which most of us would have bought from ED already by the time this is released.
  4. I'm not experiencing this. I've got 30-35 fps inside and 50-55 fps outside. Maybe this works:
  5. Indeed. In my opinion the Me 262 would be more interesting than the B-17 if changing stretch goals but I'm guessing most people do not agree.
  6. Mastering vertical descent is just a matter of getting a feel for where the collective needs to be and using the variometer. I find it really easy actually.
  7. I'm not sure about that. This video of a Mi-8MT clearly has one but there is no such handle in-game.
  8. A lot of good suggestions here. This or at least add the window visible in the external model. Edit: This probably requires an internal model of the cargo compartment but as it seems the rear/door-gunner is planned (it's listed here and here) that would require an internal model of it anyway and it would be nice to see each other in multiplayer co-op.
  9. If you mainly use the switches to quickly check their position then I can absolutely understand why English labels would be easier. Personally, I only map stick functions (e.g. weapon release, trimmer, wheel/parking brake) to my stick aside from the flare dispenser red button in the Mi-8 (because there is no pilot-navigator to do it for me) so for everything else I flick switches. This way I learn them fast and have to remember where they are.
  10. The module is very well made. Even in beta there is very little to complain about. I see some are taking the opportunity to push for an AH-64. I'd buy that but to be honest I'm not sure I'd really enjoy it as much as the Mi-8. I like the Mi-8 for the same reason as I like Su-25 (and much prefer it over the A-10C). I don't have a bias towards Russian aircraft but I just like the way these two work. They're simple but really tough war machines. I also don't mind a transport as long as it's a pure joy to fly which this is. It behaves just like you would expect (although with only youtube videos as a reference and the odd film). It feels like the stability is just right under those massive hanging rotor blades when they're spinning. Long flights are definitely more comfortable compared to the UH-1H.
  11. Flares: yes (Chaff: no) RWR: no
  12. Native Swedish speaker but my English is not bad. I find that even if the cockpit has labels in English I still do not read the labels because I already know what function a specific switch has. There's only this threshold in the beginning of learning what switch has what function and then the tooltip and manual is sufficient. It did not take long to get used to the Mi-8 cockpit, if there's something I want to do I mostly already know where that switch is. Probably same in reality, I don't imagine pilots/crew in the real thing are reading labels all the time.
  13. Google this ОПБ-1р and you get pictures of what probably is the bomb sight.
  14. Don't remember if it's been confirmed or not but it's been mentioned in the wishlist thread. The tooltip will certainly get you by though. Personally I don't mind since when you learn what everything does you don't need to read the labels anyway every time you use them so the tooltip is sufficient.
  15. Last I checked it was a Russian helicopter. ;) Hover the mouse pointer above a button/switch/knob and you get a english tooltip.
  16. Certainly could be as that would be closer to the map size we have now and most of it is water anyway.
  17. The Mi-10K apparently had an all glass cockpit as early as 1966. :D http://youtu.be/2gUSkIcMIRs?t=8m54s
  18. So we now have a Corsica map to look forward to.
  19. I don't know. As I said it seems to me that those locations are not on that map.
  20. I know that but these are not the locations in the screenshots.
  21. It is not. Correct me if I'm wrong but I cannot see these corresponding to any location on the Georgia/Caucasus map.
