I hadn't thought about it before I saw that I posted in the loadouts thread but is DCS/FC correct on that rockets are not affected by the weapons panel ripple settings? In the video six S-25 rockets are fired in groups of two. Is this done by pushing the trigger twice in rapid succession (for each group) or more intuitively by setting the ripple quantity and ripple interval? Pushing the trigger as fast as I could in DCS would get them to launch as quickly but I had to turn my stick around and hammer my finger on it. :joystick: Also another thing I noticed at when four out of the six rockets have been fired, it looks like the remaining two are on the outer stations. This would mean they were launched from the inner stations outwards. In DCS it is the opposite. Anyone have more knowledge about these details that would like to share it?

Browsing loadouts it's interesting to see how common it is to use a pair of external fuel tanks. I like this. It's simple: 2x Fuel, 4x S-8 1: Empty 2: Empty 3: S-8 4: S-8 5: Fuel tank 6: Fuel tank 7: S-8 8: S-8 9: Empty 10: Empty

This is an idea I had a while back and reading another thread now reminded me. As a fan of realism I only fly loadouts I feel are realistic and I know I'm not alone in this. It's easy to put 2x Kh-29L and 4x Kh-25ML under your wings but just because you could doesn't mean you would. So this is a thread to help us find loadouts that are realistic (I hope it can stay under the Su-25 forum section as it is intended to enhance gameplay). Post pictures and/or videos showing the loadout in use. Static display airshow loadouts do not qualify. Pics or it didn't happen.

Over christmas I accessed this forum on a mobile device and got a message (in the browser, not by email) asking if I wanted to download "Tapatalk" or continue to the forum. Perhaps the forum software provider has an agreement with those behind this forum reader app that I assume it is. However I don't think ED is to blame.

Russian Air Force Photos and Video (NO DISCUSSION)

I understand you're trying to prove your point by this scenario i.e. you wouldn't load unguided rockets specifically for this. I'd just like to point out one thing as this discussion comes down to real world tactics. In reality (CAS, BAI) you may not know exactly what the target is and the softer targets will most often outnumber the MBT's. Rockets can find many uses so bringing them still makes sense but for this specific threat I'd bring a pair of anti-tank cluster bombs (RBK-250/500 subtypes).

Elbit were responsible for the avionics and it's no secret that Israel has F-16's. It seems only a few KM's were produced and some were exported to Turkmenistan. Can't link the source on that now as TAM's website appears to be down. And here's another video:

It would be interesting to see a track of this. My guess is that your landings are not as soft as you think. And you can definitely land the real thing too hard.

I see. Didn't notice the difference at first glance.

It was news almost 4 months ago. http://www.oculusvr.com/blog/john-carmack-joins-oculus-as-cto/

I checked it and there's no need to worry. It's just a link and the destination is legit so there's nothing they can do to intercept data.

The Su-25 is a subsonic design. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mach_tuck

As you can see in the video the rockets (of unknown type) hit within 10 meters and no one was injured. Of course it's unclear whether they were all behind good cover (trees) however the camera was not. I don't know if there is a problem with the rockets. Rather the problem might be with infantry which I sometimes find hard to kill but not so much unarmoured vehicles. Are you using the appropriate warhead for the target? S-8OPF2 rockets works best for soft targets.

Rockets are known for being inaccurate. That's why you fire many of them at a single target. This video at 0:35 shows what it's like to be on the receiving end which will give you some idea: http://youtu.be/DKl00kZRRp4?t=35s

Waiting for first discount on DCS: Mi-8MTV2
eurofor replied to captainteemo's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Congrats on your successful forum rage thread. I bought it a few mins after release and would never regret it. If anything, they should increase the price of this unique quality product. Still very nice of ED/BST to give 70% off on any module of course. However, keep in mind that no one wins on this deal if they go out of business because of small or non-existent profit margins. -
Periscope? To use CCRP, activate the laser and put the sight on the target then hold the weapon release button until the bombs drop.

Turkish F-16s Shoot down Syrian Mi-17

Imagine the altitude it must have had to fall like that while covering at least 2km to land inside Syria. -

Approximate ETA to final version?
eurofor replied to IonicRipper's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Don't know if the final version has to wait for features like multiplayer co-op which is likely on ED's end but then maybe the other features will be patched in before that if there's any specific feature you're waiting for.
