And some would argue that... "Life is a terrible disease, for the mortality rate is 100%"

If i remember correctly, this system is better against other missiles. As far as I remember they changed the Patriot anti-missile variant to a hit to kill system as well, getting better results.

Happy birthday, what did you get for a present?
-
Keeping my hopes up, ASW has always been interesting to me! Perhaps, if we were to get one, you could coordinate with ED. With them making SS units for you to hunt?
-
An ASW aircraft would be awesome! That is if we were to have submarines... Looking at you, Normandy/Assets Pack. But for the Viking we would need something more modern. Bonus points if you can get it to be controlled by a human.

I don't know if it would be possible on the harrier, but I have heard stories about the MiG-21's IR missiles being capable of use as makeshift AGMs (sorta like the K-5). Though with the sensitivity of those things, I would imagine that it would only really be possible in a Siberian winter. Does the AV-8B NA have a HMCS? Or maybe the radar variant?

For example i have it set so that the cockpit and gauges are awesome looking, but the terrain leaves something to be desired. Since I feel like the cockpit is almost always what you are looking at, insert Ka-50 joke here, and even on low settings the ground doesn't look bad from a few-hundred meters. Just my preference though.

Ok, good to have it cleared up! So we are getting the most desirable variant, at least for me, of an awesome aircraft. With the very small added possibility of getting a, better in BFM but less well rounded, variant as a bonus in the future. Sounds great to me!

Puh, please!!! But yeah, totally on the same page. As long as you can do it accurately, and realistically, do it. The cruder and harder to learn the better, a module being hard to use gives it longevity. That's why i'm bored with FC3, the systems offer no challenge to use.

The best action in all circumstances: set your hopes as low as possible, so that you will be even more pleasantly surprised, or disappointed less, at what comes out in the end. Though keeping expectations low with your amazing work really is hard, I will try and be even more blown away with the result! This is just nit-picking, but note that i said: "If we were to get the MiG-19p and s," not, "when we get the MiG-19p and s." Like I said, just nit-picking. Sorry if I sounded too sure of that, time will tell if we get one or two of these awesome birds. Those definitely are cool photos, thanks for sharing, ALQaholic!

If we were to get the MiG-19p and s, any possibility of an additional MiG-19pm in an even farther future? I know I'm just asking and asking for moar, MOAR MiG-19! I wouldn't imagine that making 3 variants would be too difficult. Maybe as difficult as adding the radar variant of the AV-8B? The avionics of that time would be much simpler, but I'm probably asking fot too much. Anyways 2 variants will be more than enough for me, and if we were to get 2, I would prefer the option you have chosen. The MiG-19s would offer a lighter missile-less aircraft for dogfighting, and the MiG-19p would offer a bit heavier all weather interceptor for sneaking and IR-ing in the mountains. And if we were to only get one, i would prefer the MiG-19p for it's bigger array of ordinance and all-weather capabilities. So in short, I like the way you decided to do things. Thanks for bringing such an awesome bird to life in DCS!

Nice, thanks!

Then i must have forgot that, will have to re-watch them. Another excuse to spend hours watching awesome documentaries! Has anyone had better luck getting an original MiG-21bis manual? I could only find ones that are, like the one above, for the wrong variant.
-
Yup, that has nothing to do with the current topic. Closest i could find, will keep looking! http://airspot.ru/book/file/229/mig21um.pdf

Well, if someone would call me Russian they would have a 1 in 4 chance of being correct. Estonia has a 25% Russian population, mostly due to us being one of the wealthiest regions directly in the Soviet Union. Same applies to the other Baltic states. For example the border city of Narva speaks almost entirely Russian, with people using Estonian words for slang. Just to be clear, I am according to the 3 to 1 odds, Estonian. But that's enough off-topic chatter about my homeland. But to be honest, you actually were the first to bring my attention to the fact that he was Armenian. Then looked it up and the man became even more interesting. Also, the Russian documentaries I saw conveniently left that bit out... So sorry.

A set from dreams! Hoping for a navy set next. Honestly I'm living in disbelief now... I mean the summer break, an AV-8B N/A (and possibly an F/A-18C) during it, later on F-14, MiG-19p, and something Leatherneck has been cooking. Such good times! Not for any wallets though, they're gonna have a bad, bad time.

Artem Mikoyan was indeed born in modern-day Armenia, at the time, a province of the Russian empire. But most known for his work in the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau, for the Soviets. It's unimaginable in which conditions they had to work in their heyday, pretty much as slave labor. Luckily by the time the aircraft we are talking about came out, the conditions had improved immensely.

Like I said, ya' never know the Russians... ;)
-
Yes, but ya' never know the Russians... ;) Most likely a glitch however.
-
Have this as well, no idea if it's supposed to be this way. Though for an aircraft taxiing on the right side of the taxiway it would make sense.

I am going to pay in compensation for the damages I have caused, for my jaw fell through 2 floors and made a hole in the concrete of our basement... I am sorry neighbors. If you continue animating this good I'll think that you just filmed the real thing and photo-shopped out the surroundings!
-
Well, if you don't want to fly the F/A-18C in DCS, you can not go there... ED are letting people play it at the TM booth.

How do you turn off the undercarriage Lights ??... V1.5.6

Yup, exact same thing here. I get worried when I fly night missions in MP because everyone is going too see me like my lights were on! If you get a darker midnight it'll just look hilarious, no idea what the cause is though. Just speculation on my part, don't know if there were actual lights there or not, maybe these are supposed to help the mechanics and walk-around checks at night? But light getting through the model is a reoccurring issue with the MiG-21bis in DCS, there was another thread with landing lights coming through the cockpit floor. Do you guys at M3 have plans to fix these together or after with the new lighting engine? Getting it for the old one would be nice, but could be considered a waste of time, since itt's getting replaced. -
Yup, with all these awesome modules coming out, I think I'll be poor at the end of the year!
