  1. *Nods at a potential F-8*
  2. I think so, it wouldn't be the first time.
  3. The Su-15 would be very interesting indeed, but may be too classified... The Russians really like to keep using some old systems. :(
  4. Amazing work as always!
  5. If you we're, let's say, an ally of Russia.. You could just opt to use their satellites instead of the US ones.
  6. Have to agree, things are looking bright. Just give them enough time and they will work it out.
  7. That would be keeping in line with their "original plans". However a Tornado would also be very welcome, I'm just personally rooting for the MiG-23. It would provide the iconic opponent for the F-14, Bear aside, and be a nice and very much needed addition to the MP scene. More so than the Tornado on that front.
  8. Can't be sure of that until the 1st of Oct. But to be honest, that's just about how developing anything goes. At least when you put quality in front of keeping schedule. ;)
  9. Nice, really looking forwards for this! Any idea on when we are going to see the radar/gunsight imagery? I would imagine late in the development process. But that wouldn't be that far away, after all it's not a very complex bird.
  10. This would most likely be put under the "special options" tab. So like the realistic pipper, and all other special options (no INS alignment, etc), it could be disabled in the MP editor.
  11. 1+ These types of satellite navigation devices are so cheap and easy to install that they have become common place for almost anything old, military and civilian alike.
  12. I only have 1.5.7. As for pics or videos... Well A) I'm lazy, B) I have a homework project to work on. :(
  13. Thank you so much! Now it really feels like ground clutter, and not weather anymore! I get that this is a pointless thread, but I just wanted to express my gratitude for the changes. It feels amazing! Also a question: is this in any way related to the new ED radar tech? Thanks in advance for the reply!
  14. Feel you... :(
  15. Hello! Could you please elaborate on the future changes [hopefully] coming to the SPO-10? As far as I am informed, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, the lights on the SPO-10 panel should indicate the direction of the lock. This being because only the antennas which face the source of the radiation, and their corresponding lights, would be illuminated by a radar lock. This only changing if the radiation is so strong, that even antennas looking the wrong way can detect it (close lock by powerful ground based radar, so on). Of course, feel free to correct me if I'm miss-informed. If this is an actual inaccuracy, then the logical course of action would be to fix it. However, with the current/old radar tech, that would be presumably difficult to do (as for why you didn't simulate it accurately in the first place, having a "good enough" solution for now). I am hopeful that with the new ED radar tech, this can be accurately modeled once and for all. If I am correct, the new tech is supposed to actually simulate radar waves and their interaction with the environment. If that is the case, one would assume that the SPO-10 behavior would now be much easier to model accurately. Since it could actually get information about the from the simulated radiation hitting it's antennas. It would be nice to hear from you on if it is something you are looking into, or I'm just dumb and ill-informed on the actual SPO-10 or the new ED radar tech. Thanks in advance for the reply! Sincerely, asla36. P.S. If I am wrong and the SPO-10 is accurately modeled as it is, please feel to delete the thread. Thanks!
  16. Dealing with a dopler radar, I'd say it's very raw.
  17. M3 retains the original LN rights and name.
  18. But it would be stupid to think that the people who have outright denied developing it (after the whole RAZBAM MiG-23 thing), are developing it. I could see the case for absolutely anyone else, just not for RAZBAM or LN...
  19. Though getting back to the SPO-10 in DCS, I really hope it gets implemented properly with the new ED radar tech.
  20. Which co-insides with the P-38 nose-cone/wing imagery on their site...
  21. Thanks, seeing the progress brings a smile to my face!
  22. The MiG-23MLD would be in a place too advanced for the F-4E and Mirage 3, but not quite good enough to equal FC3 or the Mirage 2000C. Like I said, it would be a stretch. No MiG-23MLDs we're even built, it was an upgrade kit designed to last until replacement by the MiG-29. I would prefer an aircraft that was actually produced to an upgrade kit, in DCS at least. It just feels much more proper. So why not the MiG-23ML/MLA (the designation MLA was given to the last 1100 aircraft produced, though with improvements, of the ML bunch), instead of the MiG-23MLD? My preferred zone of variants would be the MiG-23M (the truly mass produced variant), ML (a redesign of the iconic M, during the second wave of mass production), or MLA (the latest, and most capable, produced variant). But that's just my opinion. I really don't see the RWR as a major setback. It tells you from what direction a radar is pinging you, if the radar is on ground level or airborne, the speed of the pings (indicates TWS lock), and when you are being hard-locked/painted. An informed operator can get even more information out of it. And as always, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  23. Thank you for the clarification!
  24. That would be the greatest troll ever! :D
  25. I would prefer an earlier variant, a MiG-23MLD would be a bit too far off the original aircraft. I'm torn between the MiG-23M and the MiG-23ML. The MiG-23MLD just seems like a bit of a stretch, a wannabe MiG-29 if you will. The MiG-23M was the truly mass produced variant. It had the more capable "High-Lark" radar, the TP-23 IRST system, and R-23R/T missile. Which meant it could sneak and then "stealth fire", having an effective range little inside of 10km for that. And despite the initially somewhat lackluster performance in BFM, the variable geometry wings somewhat made up for it. So it really wasn't that bad, and it fits in nicely with the F-4, Mirage 3, and F-14A that we will be getting. The MiG-23ML was the MiG-23M, but better all around. In my opinion the later MiG-23MLD would just be adding too much new gizmos and tech that fit way better in a MiG-29 or Su-27 module. The added bonus on doing an earlier variant is that it will take less time to simulate all the systems, there would simply be less of them. But hey, that's just my opinion.
