is there a point to the RHG LRFC trigger 1st Detent?
frostycab replied to imacken's topic in DCS: AH-64D
IRL if the CPG is doing the flying then yes. Otherwise he's need to move his right hand off the collective to the TEDAC LHG to use the weapon trigger there. In DCS though you can get away with it. -
I have "Weapon Trigger Guard - OPEN/CLOSE" bound on my HOTAS with no issues. EDIT: If you're in the CPG seat I would check that you have it bound in there too in the cyclic controls section. If you're using the TEDAC LHG trigger to shoot then there's no guard on it, but if you've bound the trigger on the CPGs cyclic then you'll need his trigger guard bound too.

I've not had this issue, but someone in another thread said adjusting his page file size fixed it.

is there a point to the RHG LRFC trigger 1st Detent?
frostycab replied to imacken's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I think first detention fires a short burst to get a momentary range. Second detent is continuous fire, so gives constant ranging and targeting. IRL there’s probably a good reason for burst mode, but not sure how useful it is in DCS, so can probably ignore it with no penalties. -
Cursor controller - switching between MPDs
frostycab replied to Rifter's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I believe someone said that the cursor doesn’t want to swap screens when “bumped” unless it’s receiving a pure x-axis input. If that’s the issue then a small y-axis dead zone would seem to make sense. It’s pretty much impossible to move a mini stick in just one axis. -
Given that George currently doesn’t differentiate between hostile and friendly units, I’m in no rush to give him any autonomy whatsoever.

@markturner1960 I just updated my answer, as I spotted something you said that may have caused a problem for you. Check the bolded text.

1.5 is quite thin in VR. I wouldn't want to go any lower personally. -
reported GPS not arresting INU velocity errors
frostycab replied to Crptalk's topic in Bugs and Problems
Regarding the Doppler, this could well be down to the fact that you were sat still and didn't go anywhere. I'm not familiar with exactly how it works on the Apache, but the name suggests the system depends on the principle of Doppler Shift, which is only observable when in motion relative to the signal. Presumably it uses a similar principle to the Rad Alt, and examines the frequency of the returned radio signals to derive the motion on the emitter, passing that onto the INUs to help correct them. When sat still on the ground like you are in the video the emitter would be getting no frequency change and thus has nothing to compare it's position to. Perhaps that might means it should tell the INUs that there's no motion so they stay aligned and centered, but there could be a weight-on-wheels lockout to protect ground crew. I'd love to hear from someone who knows the system well and can explain. I've been using the radar altimeter terrain update capability of the Viggen as a sort of analogy in my head. -
Bear in mind that GAI only executes the change when you stop setting the command. I'm guessing you're in H-B mode, Yes, each tap UP commands him to climb another 10ft, but if you chain a lot of those UP commands together then it just chains together. GAI won't acknowledge or begin to comply until you've stopped for a second or two. He'll then acknowledge and climb. If you start to give him more climb commands he appears to pause to see where you decide you want him to go, so he stops climbing until you stop inputting the command for a second or two again. In FLT mode his commands chain together more fluidly in my experience. It makes sense. In H-B you might be hiding behind a hill. If you suddenly decide you don't want to climb to 1000ft because you'll be exposed you could find yourself in danger by the time you've scrolled back to the altitude you want. Better that he pauses and waits for the new command than keep climbing into danger. That's my experience with it anyway.

You realise that when you break down and the mechanic plugs in the ECU they'll tell you that you've invalidated the warranty, right?

can not reproduce Ah-64 throttles not working after repair.
frostycab replied to Ghostlydoggo's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just confirmed this. With rotor brake on you cannot move the PLCs forward from 0% using an axis. However they WILL move when using the keybind ("+" on numpad.) If you tap the keybind then you can advance them with the axis again. It appears that the axis is locked if PCLs are at 0% with rotor brake on. It does make sense that this would be the correct behaviour, but that also suggests that the keybind shouldn't work, so one or the other seems to be wrong. -
cannot reproduce and missing track file SA-11 Point Not Selectable
frostycab replied to Captain Orso's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks, that's what I thought. Just wasn't sure if I was missing something. I was just thinking of scenarios where it might be outside of the TSD screen or you couldn't think what the ID was, but then that's what kneeeboards are for! -

I’ve set mine 1.5 for vr. Looks great. -

Cheers very much! Just came to the same conclusion after 15 minutes of testing. As for "WAD" could it be "works as designed?" That's all I could come up with. @Raptor9 Can I quickly ask, is there a way to select a DIR point from the COORD pages in the same way that you can use the ?00 to set your ACQ? -
Can't comment on Helios as I've never used it. I've got streamdeck export as the first item in my export.lua.

frostycab replied to Captain Orso's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just looked in the sim. TXX points can be used for DIR. I tried with the cursor and also by entering the point ID. It doesn't seem possible to add TXX points to an RTE with any method that I tried. CXX points work for both DIR and RTE. I did what you did. RTE - DIR - POINT - Type C51 - ENTER. TSD updated with green DIR line. -
I put a 10cm extension on mine, but it depends on where you mouth the base. My Warthog base sits on a Wheelstand Pro (basically an adjustable tubular frame), and sit just behind and level with my knees. Give me a nice level of control over mounting directly onto the base, but it's not so long that the overall throw is excessive. Bought it from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292123030904

Someone will be able to correct me if I'm wrong about this (which I probably am!) but I thought you couldn't add TG points to a route. As for not being able to go DIR to it, did you try to select it with the cursor or by entering the IDENT for it (such as T01)? I don't think you can set TG points as DIR either, at least not right now. As a workaround you could create a WP point at the same position which would allow you to add it to your route and use it as a DIR point. You could also use a CM point such as ED (Air Defense Enemy), which shows on the TSD as control measure that you can DIR to and/or add to your RTE EDIT: I really must try to get more sleep, as I keep saying the wrong things. -

It's most likely to be either the LMC is on and you didn't know, or you just need to set a small deadzone for that axis. -
Check the laser is armed. CPG seat - WPN page - UTIL - LASER (at L6 if I remember correctly) NOTE: You can't arm it from the PLT seat.

The one that's on the sheltered side if the aircraft. So if wind is from your left, the right engine would be downwind.

I've never managed to attribute any issues to running it as admin. You could try running both DCS and the Streamdeck NOT in admin mode to see if that works for you too. When I finally got it working I was told that you just need to ensure that you haven't just got one of them in admin, but I haven't tested to confirm it.

Yes. Took me 2 months to work that out when I first got mine. LOL
