  1. Ah, yes! You would almost certainly have needed to append a zero after the third and sixth digits. Did the KEU not flash at you when you hit ENTER, or did it just accept the 6 digit coordinates? If not then perhaps the system added a couple of zeroes to the end of the entry, which would REALLY throw things off.
  2. If you have no ACQ set, then the aircraft will not be able to tell you if you are within launch constraints for the missile. It may well come off the rail and fly straight ahead, but the ACQ gives you a reference point so you can tell if the missile even has a chance of going where you want it to. ...I think. Logically speaking, why else would you be able to WAS the missiles from the back seat if you're unable to fire them? It appears that (at least when he is set to Hellfire mode) George will continuously lase any target that you've commanded him to track, as can be seen by the large "X" superimposed on the crosshairs of the TADS video if you put it on one of the PLT MFDs, so feel free to WAS and fire them yourself if you get the right indications from your weapon page.
  3. While I can't offer any solution to the issue, it's interesting that in your picture the slaved TADS video image bears a tremendous similarity to the reported offset when slaving to a lased-and-stored target point. I wonder if the 2 share a common cause. I have no idea, but I would surmise that the 100m square that a 6-digit UTM reference provides would be good enough for most LOAL missile shots, and that if you were planning to attack with gun or rockets then you would be searching the vicinity of the point visually anyway.
  4. For the benefit of the team I've made a short track showing the issue. When using back-short do de-slave, the pilot's TADS CLOS return to the Head Tracker diamond position, and TADS video follows accordingly. However at release the TADS video and CLOS would thereafter remain fixed forward of the aircraft and aligned with the Head Tracker until commanded elsewhere. Since the initial hotfix the TADS and CLOS now remain locked in bearing and azimuth to the point they initially returned to. Apologies for the name of the track. "Boresight" was probably a confusing term to use. I should have said "Not remaining in fixed forward position" instead. TADS not holding boresight when target deslaved.trk
  5. If the selected sight is TADS then the SYM rocker controls the TADS symbology. However, OP was asking about the symbology brightness for the HMD, in which case HMD must be the selected sight. Told ya! hehe
  6. Apparently not. George was refusing to fire for me yesterday, despite havin the target squarely in his crosshairs and laser firing. After 5 failed CTF commands I WAS'd the missiles myself and was able to fire and hit. I don't know if this is accurate, but it works at present.
  7. I'm afraid this is going to be the best advice you can get on this. I've triggered the auto-paging once since release on my second or third flight. I can still manoeuvre quite aggressively without triggering it. You just need to get used to the limits of the aircraft. The most important thing is to avoid reacting as though you're flying a fighter jet, in particular when it comes to your left hand. The collective doesn't like being yanked on, though it's a little more forgiving to being dumped. Try to keep your power changes smooth and gradual as best you can, and if you do find yourself yanking and banking then watch your torque to make sure you're not overstressing things. Unless I'm in a steady cruise I'll be glancing at my torque numbers every 10-15 seconds at a minimum, and almost constantly if I'm forced to duck and dive.
  8. I'm not so sure. Remember that eventually the rotor brake will also have a "lock" position to stop them windmilling when parked up, so it wouldn't be very helpful if it disengaged as soon as power is lost. I'm sure it will all be sorted out accurately eventually. Do you mean toggled on or off? I've only ever had this happen with it on, so I just make sure it's off as part of my flow.
  9. Not for me last time I flew in one, but I will try again in the next few days to see if any recent updates have changed anything.
  10. George is very much available in multiplayer. If he wasn't then nobody would be able to use hellfires when flying solo as you can't swap seats in MP currently.
  11. I believe @Jagdgeschwader it right. When the PLT selects the gun it sill always slave to his LOS as that is the only sight the PLT has direct control of. EDIT: The reason you don't get the PHS option in the back seat is because if you reference the PHS for ACQ then you're just referencing the LOS cross that you see all the time. (I think!!!) The same is true for the CPG seat, where GHS is only selectable as you ACQ when you don't have your HMD set as your sight.
  12. I know it's not a huge deal, but having done my reading pre-release I was a little bit disappointed no to be given a key. Maybe one day.
  13. Yes, absolutely! I can't be bothered to take the extension off to measure, but with it on the overall throw at the top of the stick is increased to roughly 25cm, meaning that while large movements require much more positive inputs you get so much more fine control, not just at center but across the full range of both axes. It reduces the perceived "sticktion" that some people complain about with the Warthog base too, as the extra length means that less overall force is require to deflect the stick. Finally, I've found it results in less wrist ache (Now now! Behave!!!) during long sessions because instead of making most of the movements with your wrist you are now using your whole arm to control it, spreading the effort. If your setup allows you to put the stick in an appropriate position then I'd definitely recommend getting one. Even if you don't like it you can just eBay it and probably get more than half the money back.
  14. If the IHADSS display is in Cruise you get both radar and barometric altitude displayed. In all other modes (Transition, Hover and Bobup) you will only get radar altitude. In all modes above about 1400ft radar altitude will disappear.
  15. Have you tried the hover hold in the Gazelle? It gently rocks you to sleep.
  16. To be fair, it's only around a 20lb warhead, isn't it? I would suspect that at medium to longe range the most you'd hear on the ground might be a loud <crack> and that the sound of whatever it kills eventually exploding would be louder, but as mentioned that can sometimes be a minute or 2 by which time you're not really focussing on listening for that particular bang.
  17. Try the SYM rocker on the right side of the TDU screen
  18. It's very easy. When you select a traget from George's list you have no idea what is blue and what is red, and you only get the cued line of sight marker in your IHADSS or the target shown on the video display once you've selected it. If George is in free fire mode then you don't have time to get him to abort.
  19. WARNING!!! This may be the wrong way, but it seems to work for me. I just delete my OB folder, as well as the OB stuff in Saved Games, then run the installer. It uses most of the stuff from my Stable installation and just downloads the deltas. I normally backup my mods folder with aircraft and maps just in case before I do this as they really are too big to all download again, then just drop them back into place after the installation finishes.
  20. As you say, it appears to be linked to SteamVR’s motion smoothing or equivalent functions in other software. The same thing has always caused problems for me in the warbirds where the propeller would cause tearing on the projected gunsight which would vary depending on power settings. I just leave it off now. It’s actually made things much smoother all round.
  21. Fair enough. The point still stands. Different airframe, weight, engines, rotors... There are bound to be differences.
  22. I never let George go into Hulk Mode and turn green. Recipe for disaster. Just keep repeating “The sun’s getting real low” over the intercom and you should be fine.
  23. I wholeheartedly agree! It analogous to saying such and such manoeuvre should be possible in an F-104 because I’ve done it in an F-22. Different aircraft handle and perform differently.
  24. I guess I'm just having a lot of luck as I don't usually have any problems with my alignment in VR, but it seems that people are getting rather hung up on the whole seating position during alignment thing. This isn't really a solution, just more of an observation . I believe the alignment process is purely for angular alignment, not positional. Assume that both the gun and your alignment were 100% accurate in both position and angle, and let's say you want to hit a target at 1000m range straight ahead. Moving your head 30cm to one side and hitting the same spot means the angular correction would only be 0.00172° which is pretty much physically impossible to do accurately. However, only a 1° error in angular alignment at the same range equates to over 17m. At 5° that rises to over 87m. It's probably much easier to perform the alignment in the real aircraft, but I suspect many people are simply having trouble turning their heads precisely enough to get an accurate alignment. For me, trying to turn my head in miniscule increments actually makes my neck feel like it's "notchy" rather like trying to turn your eyes very, very slowly. The only way around it that I can see is for the system to have a degree of auto-correction during the alignment phase, whereby your own alignment will get "nudged" towards proper alignment by a couple of degrees. You'd still need to perform the alignment, but it would be a little more forgiving of angular error.
  25. It's all too easy to say "X is wrong and Y is way off" but also very hard to describe everything that's happening when you think it's gone wrong. Perhaps if you @launchpad72 could provide a short track that demonstrates the issues you have then it would be easier for us all to understand exactly what's going on.
