So I got to looking into my install folder and was curious as to how much DCS took, and not taking into account my Saved Games folder (just my custom skins made for me, add 100GB), my entire DCS library takes up almost a full terabyte of disk space. All my skins and mods (just the OH6, A4E and F15EX) are held on a separate disk. Mind you that I have all the modules, campaigns, terrain, tech add-ons and assets packs, so yours would likely vary. With THAT information out of the way, my question is this: what kind of performance hit would one take with compressing the files to save on disk space? For the longest time Ive kept it compressed, but Ive also heard that theres a penalty that comes with that in the form of loading times, stuttering and what not. I would really like to hear thoughts on this because yeah...DCS takes up more space than Ghost of Tsushima, GTA5, Hell Let Loose, RDR2, and about 6 other games. FWIW, DCS is installed on a PCIE 5.0 M2 NVMe drive with 10kMB read/ 9.5kMB write speeds.

yeah it would also be nice to have a glider in DCS as well...that would be sweet! Pretty much the only thing I fly all the time in MSFS...

Ive been wanting to see it closed for a whole month now. Skip back a few more posts and you'll see, its no big secret. We've gone from time bomb conspiracies to....this...and all it has done is push more and more conspiracies. Aint nobody changing their positions now; either its ED's fault or its Razbam's fault. Where's this thread going? What good is it producing? Its 99% useless conjecture, some of which I fell for. You tell me: A) what here has changed your opinion on anything, and B) what good has come of it? Comments are to bring people together, not push people apart.

Currently have a Samsung Ark 55" monitor and a TEDAC monitor that I am trying to set up. When I try to run DCS in this resolution (4440x2160) the picture on the main monitor squishes instead of pushing over to the TEDAC monitor. I get a black bar on the right hand side of the monitor and my desktop picture on my TEDAC monitor. Would like to know what Im doing wrong if anyone can help me out. Thanks in advance! I have dcs set to 4440x2160, my monitor resolution at 4440x2160, the TEDAC at the right bottom side of the monitor via display settings, not underneath. The monitors main resolution is 3840x2160 with 600x800 for the TEDAC. Ive also tried with the monitor underneath the main screen with a different lua file. Camera + TEDAC(2).lua

I have it. Load times are decreased fairly noticeable. I got me a 2tb Inland T-Speed at a 100$ discount at Microcenter which personally I think made it worth it. Other than that....

Because its devolved into a "they said 'he said/she said'". I get the whole "people need a place to vent their anger and frustration, but to me it seems like that exit has passed. Seems like Ive left this thread 5 times in the last 3 weeks only to return to a Beavis and Butthead episode and thats embarrassing in its own rights. The ED forums already isnt known to bring out the best in people, but this topic is just devoid of actual substance, intellect and IMO sanity. Stick, meet Dead Horse. Dead Horse, Stick. At least Beavis and Butthead was funny for a little while...Ive already survived one heart attack and you dont want one of those because thats where this threads headed.

Hearsay without actual evidence is just that: hearsay. They arent talking; its not doing anyone a bit of good going through everything everywhere and mishmashing everything you find into something that only YOU define. Hearsay is nothing but straight up conjecture, and if you CAN'T verify it to be 100% -and nothing less than- straight from the horses mouth, then we -as users- can just consider it worthless information. Honestly I dont even know why the moderators havent shut this topic down specifically because of the hearsay because its not productive at all.

Hearsay is rarely taken as conjectural evidence because its 2-3 degrees of separation. Only in the political world is hearsay even remotely acceptable AND EVEN THEN you can be considered a total dirtbag for doing so. If you cant cross examine the person who actually said it, even if it IS the truth, its 100% unverified until otherwise.

thats not the question or the problem, really, its more of a "you dont expect 'x' group of people to do 'y' type of things". you know, like men knitting, old people who listen to heavy metal, asians who listen to country...women who play video games...and the unicorn "women who play video games AND flight simulators". thats just an assumption (or default position, really) that people tend to not think of at first glance. of course there are those people out there who do those things! few and faaaaar between. I guess the next question will be who is going to be the first guy here who flies as a female pilot in VR so they can look at some oppai? (So THATS what it would be like...)

save settings to options.lua? I know you're trying to make things a little tidier, but can we just get a save button on the main page? It took me a good while to find it, and I would have never thought to look in the graphics settings button. -
question: Im changing options in the preset editor, where did the save icons go? yeah, you should ditch Avast. They had some legal issues recently that got them into a bunch of trouble. not only that, but Windows Defender works just fine if not better.
