[REPORTED] Hole in cockpit above fuel flow panel
bell_rj replied to Scofflaw's topic in Bugs and Problems
I see exactly the same slit as you. It's been there since day 1 of EA. Single monitor, 2560x1440. SSAA set to 2x. No other AA set in DCS or Nvidia control panel. -
Strangely, I am running the Open Beta but my DCS folder is just 'DCS' with no '.beta' part.
-
Works for me in Win 10 with the following folder structure (replace [uSER NAME] as appropriate): C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\F-16C_50 Copy each livery into a seperate sub-folder under F-16C_50.

Nope, it's the same 'story' as you put it. I can use it as I wish in the same game right now. Doesn't matter why it's there either. What matters is that it helps to make the game more accessible and therefore enjoyable. That's a good thing.
-
>> But again, if the team feels like that is too unrealistic That wouldn't be logical if they did. They've already implemented a game avionics mode which is nowhere near realistic, but simply a way of making the game more accessible. The audio cue idea simply follows that precedent.
-
An audio cue would be an excellent addition. +1 from me!

View problems with increased resolution
bell_rj replied to philstyle's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
zhukov032186 has no issue with spotting. You shouldn't either. Notice his ironic signature! How droll. -
Thanks all. Good to know it's not pilot error. :-)

Hi, Is there a shortcut to advance to the next steerpoint? Or is using the ICP the only way to do it? Also, should the DCS F-16 (as it is now) automatically advance to the next steerpoint when that point has been overflown? Just as an aside, I'm really enjoying flying this great module! Well worth getting even in an early EA state so thanks ED!
-
Glad it's not just me. I can never get roll or pitch trim just right even with just momentary taps of the trim button. Perhaps it's realistic but I find that hard to believe that military aircraft could not be perfectly trimmed.

Can we have a MASTER ARM toggle option so it can be assigned to one switch? The current options include 'Up', 'Down', and it would seem to make sense to make MASTER ARM a toggle. Currently it seems to work the same as 'Up' which seems to be a duplication.
-
Thanks for this. How did you get the rotaries to register in DCS? I'm trying to map HUD and HMCS brightness as you suggested but turning the knobs doesn't register in the control setting screen.

Cold Start Training Mission - white noise makes Wags almost inaudible!
bell_rj replied to imacken's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I had the same. It kicked in halfway through the first (I think) training mission. I understand the workaround but I doubt it should be happening. Settings: In-Cockpit sound volume - 100% (same as other sliders) Hear like in helmet - unticked -
Same for Landing Gear - it's abbreviated to LG. Not very intuitive!

The latest DM update sounds amazingly detailed indeed. I can see why it may be taking a while to create. There's going to be a lot of new flying experiences with it!

reported AI/Wingman Fuel Consumption
bell_rj replied to Dagobert666's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Any update on this? It's quite a severe issue, and breaks the immersion. >> Please give us a Option for Unlimited Fuel for Player AI Wingman This would work well as a temporary fix. -
[Suggestion] Improve SA for Pilots via Jester Menu
bell_rj replied to Larkis's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Gotta say, this thread has some awesome ideas I'd love to see implemented. -
We had a great day at Flying Legends! We managed to unknowingly seat ourselves at display centre so the opening of the Red Arrows came in straight overhead and we were in the right place for the breaks. It's a very different show to RIAT, but in a good way. The Spitfire flypasts with 15 Spits doing two continuous hi-lo loops was an absolutely amazing spectacle I haven't seen the likes of anywhere. All the flying was top notch and the Ultimate Fighters display was memorable for the perfect formation flying into the vertical and looping over. As good as any full time display team would do. I was sad not to find the ED stand. It was marked on the map but didn't seem to be present. All in all, an excellent Warbird show.
-
It'll be my first visit to Flying Legends tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. We have the standard tickets. Does anyone have any tips on where to sit for the best view of the flying display?

There is news of updates to the map out today on Facebook! Very welcome indeed. Hope to hear more about rough timescales at some point.

Very happy with the Normandy map update news!

There's an interesting suggestion in a place that I won't mention because I can't remember if it's against the rules or not. Anyway, someone suggested making the carrier visible to all but non-collidable to those who haven't paid for the module. So essentially the carrier would be a great looking advert in the game, and would encourage people to buy the module so they could land on it. I still think carrier ATC should be free to all, but at least if ED don't stop people without the carrier module from joining servers where the paid carrier is in use then it prevents further community fragmentation. I'd rather that and pony up some cash for the improved carrier to get the ATC if that was the choice.
-
Well, no matter what. It's obvious that a lot of clever people think there's an issue here so I hope ED take note and take stock before going ahead with the planned approach.
-
I suggest ED subsidise all core features - yes, including all ATC - and build the necessary profit into module prices.
-
Carrier ATC is as core as land based ATC. It's illogical to suggest otherwise. I appreciate there's a high cost to it. However, if there's no easy technical way to get around segmenting the user community then, like development on all other core features, ED should subsidise it from other revenues. The current path is the road to failure which I think is a real shame because going on the demo video the update should be excellent.
