New A10C Campaign - SP or MP - Need your opinion
Cowboy10uk replied to Ranger79's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I dream of a full on coop campaign, with DCS quality aircraft. Don't much care for which one as I own them all. :) Good SP campaigns are great fun, but they can't compare to doing coop with your mates. So my vote has to be for that, allow AI to control whatever aircraft are left, but please allow 3 or more to coop together. Our flight has 3 hint hint. ;) Cowboy10uk -
Easiest way is to login via THEIR login and purchase whatever module using your debit / credit card, certainly that's the way I tend to purchase modules for friends, however if you purchase it via your own account, you can go to the front page, profile, serial check, enter serial number of module you bought for him, click check, then on the next page that comes up with that modules details, you will see a bind to account "enter your friends account name here". It will then ask you if you are sure, click yes. I only did it the other day when my brother purchased me the Enemy within campaign for Christmas on his account, so had to go in and bind it to my account. It says it worked, but won't know till after Xmas when I get back home. Hope that helps. Cowboy10uk

Ahhhhh Bugger, that means I'm not flying her until next year now. :( sadly having to go away for Xmas and new year to the in laws tomorrow. Was hoping to get a chance to play before hand. However it's not the end of the world, and believe me considering my wife is being made redundant today, it's hardly the worst issue In my life. Guess I will just have to have a nice low level flight in my Huey then. Ah well, that will be tough. ;) Thanks for the update guys, great to know she will be out next week, can't wait to see the videos to keep me going. Cowboy10uk

Dirt rally support, oh I wish, thus has such amazing potential, however I think Andre already has his hands full catering just for us and DCS. ;) Cowboy10uk

Oh god I wish, I've been dreaming of a DCS level Puma ever since I started sim flying. I love the helicopter, it was a major part of my childhood, as my dad was a crewman on them for years. Spent my childhood, climbing about and flying in Pumas, which was a stunning experience for a young child. ( it's amazing how popular you become, when you get picked up from the school playing fields and taken flying during your lunch break in a military helicopter ;) ) However, we will need skins for 33, 230 & 240 Sqns, Royal Air Force please. :D Hell if it wasn't for Pumas, chances are I wouldn't have the love for Helios that I have now,and I may not even be part of this community. :O Cowboy10uk

Well for one the Gameseat will turn up in the post, I had an Ivibe on order for 12 months and never heard a thing. ;) Can't state how they compare together, but what I can say is this is a game changer. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Cowboy10uk

I see videos of my first landing are appearing already. ;) Another great aircraft to look forward to. Cowboy10uk

Can't quite remember, think it was around April, May this year. Cowboy10uk

Go to the aircraft folder you want to change fov on and look for CameraViewAngleLimits. Example below is for the mig 21 DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Entry\03_Views.lua Line 10: CameraViewAngleLimits __________________ Adjust as you require Cowboy10uk

Cap Loz, includes the init files in his zip. Just go to your Mods/aircraft/a10c/cockpit/scripts folder and then go through each folder under indicators, to find the file to replace, when you see the one that matches Loz's file drag and drop. Out at mo, but can post mine here later, have all the dials outputting nicely for both Loz's A10 and Capr Zeeens BS in DCS 2 Cowboy10uk

Capt Zeen is currently creating a Helios profile for the Huey, with all working instruments. He's done the same for the MI8, P51 etc. all aircraft that we didn't think it was possible to export from. I believe he does it by treating them as flaming cliffs 3 aircraft, but not too sure. Basically, keep an eye on his posts, as I'm sure we will see a Huey export very soon. Cowboy10uk

They have done a great job, But come on, landing a helicopter at Rachel is cheating. :) Far better to visit it at 500 kts and scare the locals. ;) Cowboy10uk

Finally got round to learning the MI8

Finally got round to learning the MI8
Cowboy10uk replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Well, had my first emergency / pilot cockup ;) today. Took off from Nellis, on route up towards Rachel, so I increase my collective to take me over the hills, and suddenly I notice I'm losing tail rotor effectivenss, next thing, ekran is yelling in my ear that both no 1 & 2 generators have failed, autopilot and stability system switches off and suddenly make the craft a hand full. Quickly look for somewhere to land, before making a quick decent and landing in the desert. Damn I appreciate it was likely all my doing, I'm guessing I pulled in to much collective, and let the Rotor RPM decay to a point where it could no longer keep the generators running, BUT wow, what a stunning feeling to be suddenly faced with an emergency in such a big helo. It really got that adrenaline pumping. Note to self, next time keep an eye on the gauges. :D Cowboy10uk -
Hi mate, I had this issue last week. First off check your key settings and make sure nothing else is selected for throttle, once you're happy there is only one control for throttle, then IF you're using an Axis to control your throttle, go into usb controllers in windows and recalibrate. I found my calibration was ever so slightly out, so while I thought I was closing the throttle, it was leaving it just open enough to cause the hot start. Silly advice as well, and please don't take offence, as I freely admit I was also doing this, make sure you're turning the throttle the right way. ;) Cowboy10uk

First flights in 2.0 and NTTR
Cowboy10uk replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Main question though, is the lag issue from 1.5 fixed in 2.0 mp Really missing my mo sessions at mo, but due to the lag no one can play. Cowboy10uk -
:) hell yes, it's amazing how much just one map has changed the feel of a sim we know and love. Can't wait to finish lates, and spend some real time on it on Friday. Fancy a flight from Nellis to Groom lake and back low level in the Huey. May take a while, but will certainly be the best way to get to know the map. Cowboy10uk

Well for me, fixed wing wise then I will join the others in voting for Tornado, Harrier, Jaguar Helo wise Puma, Chinook, Seaking Cowboy10uk

Bought A-10C beta, but NTTR not showing serial number
Cowboy10uk replied to GregP's topic in Payment and Activation
You need to make sure your A10 Beta is registered to the login you are using, it should be under Profile / My orders. It will also show the date you purchased there so you can see if you qualify or not, afterwards go to Eshop, and to NTTR, in the write up you will see a link to product page. There you should see a box that states show serial number if you qualify. Cowboy10uk -
First off make sure you've added the serial number to your account. Log into front page. Go to product page in e store, and there should be a box to click to get serial number. After that log into DCS2, go to modules, terrain and it should be there click install. If not, then force the install below. Go to your DCS 2 install folder xx:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha click on 'bin' - single click, do not open hold LSHIFT + Right Mouse Click Select open command window here type: dcs_updater install NEVADA_terrain And crack a beer, because this will take a LONG time. 5hrs, 45 for me. However damn it's worth it. Cowboy10uk

Glad you got her up and running mate, it certainly was worth the slog yesterday. Just amazing. Next try the Huey with the new trees. ;) Makes for an Intresting experience. Cowboy10uk

First flights in 2.0 and NTTR
Cowboy10uk replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Hi guys, well like everyone else download was slow, very slow. All in all took 10hrs from start to finish. :( However for those still downloading, don't give up, because DAMN it's worth it. My first flight, was my beloved Huey, lifted from Nellis, and flew down the strip at 30ft, damn what a stunning job guys, can't wait to see her at night. Oh and that was closely followed, by a skid landing on the strip. ( hint, those trees are collideable, if any finds the end of my rotors, if you could send them back to me please. ;) ) Anyway, so 2nd flight was Nellis, to Vegas, taking the highway out to Boulder City and down towards Hoover Dam. Followed by a low approach down the valley and a close area landing at the bottom of the dam. Damn she's huge while you are sat on the ground next to her. However as mentioned before by OP, the Huey sits approx 4-5 ft off the ground while landed. Then a low level flight back to Nellis. Sadly then RL called and I had to go to work. However I can't wait to get back flying, it truely is a stunning map, and the exciting thing is I know I've only scraped at the surface. Huge Well done Guys. Cowboy10uk
