  1. there's really no point to a dynamic campaign, it's very great effort for very minute gain. dynamic campaigns really come in two varieties, semi realistic and flat out arcade. it's simply not consistent with what dcs is about.
  2. this is one of the most hilariously misguided threads i've ever had the pleasure of reading. thank you demongornot, please post more suggestions.
  3. it's not really gender blind if it's male or female, since one is excluded.
  4. none of them particularly interesting, though the f-104 was called the aerial coffin, which is funny in a morbid sense. so my vote goes there.
  5. so you think labels are cheating, but this isn't? look, in a single player game, there's no such thing as cheating. it's human against ai, so you already have the advantage. if you feel you need more help, turn on the help. it's programmed into the game by the developer for this purpose. now you ask for this new form of help when one already exists that serves the same purpose. and what happens afterwards, as soon as you turn it off, units will no longer glow. how do you spot them then? it's the exact same thing as labels, don't be ashamed to use it. in real life, the terrain is more detailed too. the foliage is also more dense. it's actually much harder to spot vehicles from high fliers in real life than it is in the game.
  6. this is what human field of vision look like. any binocular device is going to take this shape. movies and games tend to make it into an oval shape for aesthetic elegance: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/576/0520visualfieldcopy.png
  7. no. and there's no such thing as a perfect sim.
  8. that's what jiggle in external view does.
  9. you don't need a top notch computer. an i7 920 will do fine, provided you have an adequate video card and decent amount of ram. and dual monitors is a waste of time. completely ruins the view.
  10. you honestly think people are going to come to dcs after playing that? it takes what? 2 button presses to start a game in the typical "world of"... mmo you think they'll be able to handle 50 buttons before even taking off? and dcs has been out for awhile and is on steam. if people haven't noticed it by now, they're probably just not interested. anyway world of planes/warplanes/tanks, whatever looks like complete crap. although the graphics for the gaijin product looks fantastic.
  11. why do you care what they give themselves? it's a mod, don't want it? don't download it. also, mods should be available for all dcs products. so custom aircrafts can be ported over. that's nice. ed isn't selling the mods. they're user made. so the "standard" obviously doesn't apply. once again, how nice. but sorry, mods are free. it's not a business. if you want to sell something, get in touch with ed so they can approve. otherwise, modding is the user's responsibility, not ed's. financial benefits from modding? this isn't ea, this is ed.
  12. nice real life comparison, first of all. secondly, it's different lighting conditions, so again, what's your point? color is going to be different depending on atmospheric conditions and time of day. it's like posting a picture of a rainy sunset and comparing it to a picture of a clear midday.
  13. what? *sees location and sig* oh, one of those people. the game uses multiple cores. although buying field mods is stupid.
  14. this thread is about the camera jiggle. what are you talking about "hollywood action camera"? good lord, was there another incursion by the call of duty/battlefield kids again?

    Battlefield 3

the fact that this game is in the sims forum has me cracking up. what a piece of crap.
  16. i snipe with em. have no choice. huge lag when you send out a medium or larger burst.
  17. first of all, the graphics are definitely better. there isn't any debate. whatever your problem with the graphics is has to be on your end. consider updating. blackshark 2 works best with 64 bit operating system, a quadcore and anything above 460 gtx. 1gb of video ram is a must for this game. barring some special circumstance, it's almost always outdated hardware that is the cause for people's performance problems.

    Rfactor 2

    left turn simulator
  19. they don't make models with all the instruments and equipment. it's an early version
  20. rear formation and hope he stays out of the way. also use him to clean up after i use up my payload on the anti air threats.
  21. how many types do you want? maybe they should program a smoke simulator into this game. smoke down to the atomic level.
  22. all of the fundamental stuff is possible already. just no one posts any template or example on how to do it. sometimes i'm quite bewildered as to how these people keep making custom aircrafts without a single document on how the hierarchy and pivots work. we know the porting procedure and how to use the tools. the rest is a mystery.
  23. what it needs is bump mapping for bs2 to increase the realism of light affecting the ground. as for ground color. it does vary. but you fly over contiguous regions. you don't fly from switzerland to nevada or fly from winter to spring. therefore ground color is similar. so i'm no sure what your "pictures from all over the world" is supposed to prove. in the fall, the trees are rust colored like that georgia picture. and that wheat field is going to look orange due to the lighting. same thing happens in dcs when the sun is setting.
  24. more "crap" to wade through has always been the mark of an easy to mod game. i find no difficulty in browsing and picking from the bunch, in fact it's a delight to do so.
  25. what do you mean? this looks photoreal, much better than fsx.
