  1. My interest is peaked as well. It be really great if they sent a unit to ED to have them pre-map all of the controls...
  2. Nice update and glad the trip was a success. Looking forward to getting more updates on how the FM is turning out.
  3. Depends on how fast you fly. The F-18C at full afterburner can use all of its fuel in just under 15 mins....
  4. We don't know as we haven't heard much about the Carrier Modules / DLC since they were first announced.
  5. It's a brand new model that is part of the Carrier DLC.
  6. You have to pay attention to the lighting, i.e. time of day the SS where made.
  7. It'd be best to IM Andre as this is the DCS forums....
  8. You don't need to hook it up to any audio output at all. This was answered about two posts up.
  9. Ensure you have disabled the parking brake.

    ILS

My understanding that it's not the "military ILS" but Navy ILS that are incompatible. USAF can use civilian ILS without issue.
  11. Thanks Andre, got mine today. For anyone interested, I ordered on the 22nd from Andre's site. I chose the expedited delivery and I received the unit today. So less than a week...
  12. Well I just placed my order. Let's see what the hype is all about.
  13. That is now an old video I'm afraid...
  14. You have some inaccuracies in your assumptions. The removal of the gun in the Navy F-4 had no effect on the Kill/Death ratio. In fact the USAF F-4 had an internal gun... What changed the Kill/Death ratio for Navy F-4s was the creation of a Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) in which tactics were improved upon and instilled in Naval Aviators. Well then that is just poor tactics. Only the F-35B is missing an internal gun. That was due to not having enough room to have one. As far as single engine goes, you mean like the AV-8B, A-7, F-8, A-4, and the list goes on. That is already an option for the "B" model, that is designed for A/G attack or CAS missions in low-threat environments.
  15. I don't think it would be a waste of time, it's probably more of a working through a priority list. We simply don't know where improvements to munitions falls.
  16. It was actually done in humor and Pepsi never thought someone would be able to acquire 7 million Pepsi points during the promotional period... until someone did... http://www.cbsnews.com/news/1996-man-sues-pepsi-for-not-giving-him-a-harrier-jet/
  17. For one, they don't own the IP. ED was, previously, working on an F-16C module; where it stands is up in the air. Rumor is that it is still in development. You can't just port code from one game to another, it's not that easy. You can always ask Razbam about how they rebuilt everything for the aircraft they had previously built in another commercial sim.
  18. Jesus, can the F-18C just be 69.99 and not break my balls. Based on previous posts, it would be safe to bet that the price will be north of $69.99. The A-10C was released in 2010 into early access / beta at a price of $69.99. Chichi has already indicated that DCS F-18C will be the most expensive module to date, thus it is safe to assume that the price will be more than $69.99.
  19. You proved my point and disproven your point. You still payed more than $69.99. That is even before you have to buy the tact-pact to be able to use weapons. So now you are over $100. My point is proven again. "Nice" is subjective. Large in area, yes, I agree with you there. Detail will be lacking and unless you pay even more, the map will not be "nice."
  20. And you still don't know how to substantiate your position.
  21. yes there is. you're just on a high dos horse No, no there's not. You can't formulate, nor articulate, a clear and substantive response so you resort to further ad hominem attacks....
  22. There's no study level sim that you can get for $69.99 or less that includes carriers. No. People determine what has value to them. If one believes that a DCS F-18C module is worth $79+ then that is for them to decide. If you believe it is worth less, wait for a sale. It's pretty simple. No reason to play ad hominem attacks on the community. The A-10C module was $69.99 when it was first released into beta / early access. There is no way we will get a DCS F-18C module and the new carrier module for $69.99. I can see $79.99-99.99 for the DCS F-18C module and you can use the existing Carl Vinson Carrier. Final Thought I can easily see how this module can get up to and over $100. Ultimately it is up to each Virtual Pilot to determine what each module is worth to them. If the initial price is too high for you, simply wait for it to go on sale.
  23. There's a team working on the JF-17, hopefully they can get an official third-party status and bring their product into the fold.
  24. Pretty much the same way it works on the A-10C today when you put the targeting pod in A/A mode.
