  1. Well done, saw it off a FB post.
  2. Just like when the F-15C campaign was released, the keys aren't ready yet. Check back around 1pm ET and every hour after that. By the time I got home, the last time, it was all pretty much sorted out.
  3. It also depends on when you pre-purchased. There wa s a period of time when you would get both campaigns with the pre-purchase of NTTR. Then at another date it went to only one campaign and then they were dropped all together upon release.
  4. Mission 02 - Taking the Tour.
  5. So there is no mention in the briefing about restricted airspace West of the FEBA. While in pursuit of some Migs, I get a mission failed because I entered restricted airspace... West of the FEBA... This occurred around block 71N/4809A. During this same mission I get another failure message because another pkg wasn't able to hit their target. My mission objectives are to complete a sweep and then escort the CSAR flight. CSAR recovers the down pilot and makes it home safely, yet I still failed the mission....
  6. You have to make sure the airfield is "owned" by your "team." Go into mission editor and click on the map, is it Neutral, Blue or Red?
  7. Keep going, I eventually got pushed on to Mission 7 after the same problem. The thing is I don't ever remember getting a mission successful due to the B-1Bs overflying the SAM around the their target.
  8. Ah yes, because in DCS units are represented by health bars... I'm sure it can happen in DCS - figured we'd find out on a multiplayer server while people are learning how to land on a pitching carrier deck.
  9. With the note found in the newsletter about players being able to walk around, I think the speculation that you spawn in some type of briefing room first is plausible. This would also alleviate the need for a great abundance of parking, as you wouldn't leave the lower decks until it's near time for your takeoff - or AC spawn queue... That was part of the discussion back when they were talking about naval/carrier operations. To what extent we can control, well we will have to wait a bit longer to find out.
  10. Hopefully, it does look promising with the amount of attention and focus the carriers are getting.
  11. So how many hornets will it take slamming into the back of the carriers before they sink? Me thinks we will find out...

    DCS 2.0 ATC

Latest a newsletter states that it is still in the works. No ETA.
  13. I believe it is a bug that was introduced during the last update.
  14. So I have flown this mission now about 8 times... Each time the AI does something stupid and gets killed, thus failing the mission. Either it flies right into a mountain, right on top of a SAM system or drops bombs on itself. Not one time has enemy air actually destroyed any Pontiac package before hitting its target. This kind of thing is getting on my nerves...
  15. a) DCS ATC has been under further development for sometime; I doubt you will see any changes to the current ATC prior to the new ATC being ready. We can only be patient here... b) No news on that just yet. My assumption would be in early Spring.
  16. Yeah I have to agree with Zeke, these by far have been the best single-player experiences I have ever had in DCS. Can't wait to see some multiplayer Red Flags like this....
  17. Under 1.5 and 2.0 DK2 has been running just fine. The performance increase since 1.5 was amazing. Stuff can still be challenging to read, displays, etc.. It's not as bad as some make it out to be. Spotting aircraft is still a challenge. when you are close in - doing dogfights, it's not bad and your SA awareness goes up compared to TrackIR.
  18. The map is curved, it is not round as the whole planet is not modeled.

    Landing

Just to the SW of Nellis is the holding pattern. Fly there and circle with other aircraft until you get clearance.
  20. Same as before. When I approach Nellis after turning out from Sally I call inbound to Nellis. I always get vectored to the holding pattern area. So I typically just join up and circle until I get clearance to land. Typically I see other aircraft landing before and after me.
  21. Interesting mission. I enjoyed the tour and it helped me in being able to visually identify the FEBA line from the air, instead of just looking at a map. I'm Tail Number 166.
  22. Yeah I saw that too, thought about posting a pic as well. Here's a shot where I made some new friends in the holding pattern waiting for clearance to land. Man I can't wait to be in the driver seat of that Bug.
  23. Depends on the mission designer.
  24. I have to agree with you StandingCow, a multiplayer version with multiple airframes would be great.
  25. Art-J, getting an SSD will be wonderful for your simming experience. I highly recommend anyone that plays DCS to use an SSD. (probably stating the obvious)
