  1. ATFLIR was always a single pod solution. You're thinking of the Nighthawk, if I remember the name correctly.
  2. Technically ED and Thrustmaster teamed up just like last year but, yes, it was the Thrustmaster booth.
  3. They did. The only details they provided is that it will not be ready by the time the DCS Viper goes into EA.
  4. There was nothing "extra" on display. My guess is that Thrustmaster wanted to focus on their Hornet stick. I am not sure how much input ED had in the matter.
  5. LOL. I read it that way after posting as well and thought about editing it. The Thrustmaster Rep stated that they were looking at re-releasing the Cougar Throttle later on. The only details he provided is that it would not be out by the time the DCS Viper module comes out.
  6. It does return to center.
  7. My hands are just medium size. The button layout seems fine; at least when the stock is lower than your chest. With the stick between the legs I had no issue pressing any button.
  8. After having the Hornet grip in my hands today, I pre-ordered. Guys it really feels incredible; I did not think I would like it so much.
  9. Got to say Hi to Matt! I was really surprised by how good this guy felt in the hands. I was pretty much against purchasing the Hornet grip at the price of $229 until I had it in my hand. Plenty of people crashed and burned today. No Viper on display and the Hornets were getting swatted down all day. There were fours stations in total, two with VR and two without. All using the Thrustmaster Hornet Stick, Warthog Throttle and TPR Pedals. Thrustmaster had everything out on display today. They had a section for their high-end stuff, a section for their entry level and the TPRs were out. This is what the Thrustmaster / ED booth looked like all day, those guys did not get a break. I have a ton more pictures that are not DCS related. There were full cockpit setups, full motion platforms and various in-betweens on display and available to try out.
  10. Wags, ED really needs to do some type of advertising here. Out of the 100 people I have met only 2 were aware DCS even exists. So far they were all interested so hopefully some new DCS aviators come out of it.
  11. There are already a lot of people here for the expo. Looks like it may turn out to be a jolly old time.
  12. I disagree. With LOFT mode on I can shoot at ranges close to an AIM-120. Further I typically don't use them for BVR shots, unless I am out of 120's or didn't bring them. At this time, since you have to launch 120's in STT they are only marginally better than a 7MH.
  13. Stable version still gets fewer updates and on a less frequent basis than Open Beta. That was the point Shagrat was getting at.
  14. I do use them, and no I do not turn off loft mode. I see no reason to ever turn it off. That may be why I haven't experienced that issue.
  15. Incorrect, the HARM was "mostly" fixed in the most recent patch. I haven't seen any issues with the AIM-7 yet, so I cannot comment on the status of that missile.
  16. Storm, is it possible you moved on the ground before you were given the "Reload Complete" message from ground crew. The behavior you described, I have only "seen" when a virtual pilot started taxing before the reload as complete.
  17. ED has been fully forthcoming in regards to communications of the Hornet. The Viper is not causing any delays to the Hornet. I think you are correct in your assessment, Pre-Orders and Open Beta is not for you.
  18. Typically one sees the nose rise up after a trap if the brakes are depressed at landing and the wire begins to pull back. For the hook to disengage from the wire you need to ensure that you run your throttle all the way up, to account for a possible bolter, then you let off of the throttle and allow the aircraft to be pulled backwards by the wire. This will allow the hook to disengage. You will now it has when the hook light lights up after a successful trap. You can then raise the hook at this time without it getting "caught."
  19. I do to, but that is because of how it is rendered. At least everything is hard to see or read when the map is displayed. Now take a look at the A-10C and I always have the map on. The contrast between the map and the text is far better.
  20. Only later versions of the JSOW can hit moving targets. Those came into service sometime around or after 2010, years after the Hornet that is modeled in DCS. I can only assume that he made mention of the warhead as he was specifically talking about the hardened penetrator version of the JSOW.
  21. Disagree. In PvP I get kills beyond 10NMs and that is using STT. Once TWS comes out we will be able to launch on multiple bandits without them ever getting a launch warning. Game Over. :)
  22. Okay, so it's a terminal seeker sensor. Kewl. That's nothing that the pilot has access to.
  23. I disagree that it is a BVR game changer. A great tool and adds to the SA of the pilot - yes. I, personally, feel that TWS will be a game changer for BVR in the Hornet.
  24. So you just validated what I typed, cool beans.
  25. If I remember correctly that functionality came in a later variant.
