  1. So we get to see an early preview of the F-16C? :)
  2. They already found someone - just an FYI...
  3. ATC is separate from any module. We will simply see the first rendition of a modern ATC with the new Carrier module. In fact ED have had in place plans to overall the ATC for land-based airfields as well. As far as spawns go in regards to the current carrier and the new paid-for-module; the paid-for-module will be modeled far and beyond the current offerings. It only makes sense that there are more options available.
  4. Also, keep in mind when you are in A/G mode it will automatically uncage the HUD.
  5. There is no keybinding for Target Under Cursor. You simply move your cursor on top of the target in question to get additional details on it - depending on Radar page versus SA page. You will need TDC Depress and Sensor Control Depress mapped.
  6. Both can co-exist on your HD - no problems at all.
  7. There's a DCS update and it adds support for the Tomcat among bug fixes.
  8. You cannot use CCIP when a Waypoint is set as a TGT Waypoint. You can, however, press the undesignate button and quickly switch to CCIP if you need to use CCIP.
  9. GC would signal you to fold your wings down just before connecting to the shuttle. You simply need to follow a checklist if you are forgetting this step until you "burn it" into memory.
  10. You got on late then. I downloaded and installed the update this morning in less than 10 minutes.
  11. They are simply basing it off of past experience as to how long the process will take. ED has not, nor will they promise a release date for a third party module. ED will only give the "GO" / "NO-GO" after whatever internal tests are done prior to release. We simply have to be patient for a little bit longer...
  12. Bolter - should be to fly the Final Recovery Heading until at 400 feet and then turn to the 180, fly downwind and try again.
  13. In the current mode implemented with the HARMs we don'have a way to identify distance to the threat. The mode we have is SP (Self-Protect) and is designed for an unknown threat that pop up and is needed to be dealt with. You can "simulate" other modes at this time by placing waypoints on SAM systems. As the HARM is fleshed out we will get two other modes and with them the ability to see range. I think PB is still tied to waypoints, but I could be wrong there. IR Mavs are used mainly to get a "visual lock" on a target. For IR MAVs you want to ensure you have proper separation from your target. You can even put the aircraft in AP while going heads down to find targets via the MAV screen on the DDI. In real life, ground forces will talk an aircraft on to the target to make life a bit easier. We should also see improvements once the new thermal rendering engine (TRE) is done. I just made up the acronym but ED can use it if they like. For HARMs, in real life they have a low PK rate. This is due to many factors, most commonly of which is the radar operator turning off the radars. The idea behind the HARMs is to suppress air defenses and not necessarily destroy them. Newer HARMs available today counter the radar operators use of turning off the radar - that is not what we have modeled in DCS today. Ideally for missions, today, you will have pre-briefed air defense threats and waypoints to go along with them. You would use a combination of HARMs/MAVs/Bombs to suppress or destroy the air defense threat for your package.
  14. Nah, that simply means it was added to the internal Dev build. Wags will, normally, showcase upcoming features in a video giving a brief overview a few days prior to release into Open beta. We don't get daily builds in Open Beta; so it could not apply to us at that time.
  15. The setting required is called patience; those images are showcasing upcoming features.
  16. They already stated that they were developing technologies for the Hornet in such a way they can be "transferred" to other modules, including the Viper. Yes there will be work to make the code originally developed for the Hornet to translate to an authentic experience for another airframe.
  17. We should hear more about it sometime later this year. Patience is your friend...
  18. The DDIs are capable of YRGB colors. The yellow color for the cursor and BE related information if AA Waypoint is selected, are there for contrast to better read the information presented to the pilot. This is true to life and you will see more changes as SA page is coded and a few other features we don't have just yet.
  19. Not sure about this bug. I have been able to fire LMAVs on targets after the lasing started. I do admit there was an issue picking it up at first; looking back, not sure if I did something wrong or related to this bug you speak of. Ultimately I was able to fire a LMAV on a target.
  20. You can't yet. That SS was provided by Wags as a teaser of what is to come.
  21. Not always. If there are major bugs or issues that are present in the current OB then the patch would most likely not make it into the following stable release. Currently I have not seen such bugs so it is possible that this OB update will make it to stable next week.

    HARM

Well you got a long winded answer, enjoy...

    HARM

The HARM, all Anti-Radiation missiles in fact, only have the capability of tracking certain radar types that operate on certain frequencies. In reality if the Aircraft's radar operates within the HARM's detectable bands then it can. In game, things are different. Radar energy itself is not coded with frequencies and wave lengths. Basic radar is simple - detect object, get object. More advanced radar functionality is coming as DCS matures and who knows what the future holds. I, personally, would not expect that type of behavior anytime soon.
  24. KC135 is supposed to be able to carry around 200,000 pounds of fuel.
  25. When you have actually given money to ED or a 3rd party for an unreleased product that is fair. What is not - is to think that because you bought a previous module by ED and or 3rd parties they owe you something for another product that you haven't paid for.
