That is your opinion, I personally did not like his videos on the Hornet. With that said, the more reviewers the better for HB.
-
No offense, that video is now "old" and the F-16 Hype Train was started months ago. There's already a thread in the Chit Chat section on it.
-
You need to post a trackfile of your attempt so we can asses your procedures.
-
You have to make sure that your DDI that is "hosting" your IRMAV display has the diamond in the corner indicating that it is your "sensor of interest" - to borrow a term from the A-10C. Next, you need to wait until the MAVs are warmed up, takes 3 mins. After that you uncage your MAVs and they are slewable while depressing the TDC depress button.
-
I believe I remember Wags saying that we will first see it on the revamped S-3B Viking when it comes out. I wouldn't expect it prior to that.
-
If you have the TDC cursor setup as an axis you can tune the axis to adjust the speed at which it moves. It will however effect your TDC on the radar as well. I don't believe there is a way to configure the slew rate on just the MAV seeker.

Each one serves a purpose. For instance HACQ only scans out to 5 NM; whereas LACQ goes out to 10NM. Now you may be aware of that already and wondering why... Hopefully this tidbit can shed some light. When you have an aircraft that falls within the 5NM threshold you can use HACQ to get a faster lock. I'm not sure if that is truly modeled in game or not. The aircraft systems know how quickly radar energy should return for a <= 5NM target and it will ignore all other energy returns. The radar itself doesn't just send out enough energy to reach 5NM and then it disappears if nothing is detected. This allows the computer system to focus on closer objets, track and lock onto them faster. This also helps if there is a "furball" going on and you want it to basically lock onto the closest target to you. When you switch to LACQ mode, your radar and subsequent systems have to scan more sky and process more data to lock and track targets. To us it all happens fast, to a computer it's night and day difference. The non-JHMCS ACM modes all have a similar purpose.

Then you are doing it wrong - sorry to be direct. I can launch them without issue. Please post a track file so we can see what steps you are taking and what steps you are not taking so that we can be of assistance.

You have to install the latest Open Beta update.
-
Open Beta is 2.5.xxx that simply gets the updates at an early stage and the community act as Beta testers for bug fixes and new features.
-
The title has been edited. It was not, clearly, a question previously....
-
You have to download the latest Open Beta update to get access to the bug fixes. That is how it is always done....

** Anytime, Baby! - NEW TRAILER & TRACK PREMIERE **
Revelation replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
That is some flawed logic there and false. Top Gun instructors were and are some of the best pilots the Navy has to offer; yet attendees still get "kills" on their instructors. Fact of the matter is that the instructors would use the tactics of foreign AF, primarily Russian tactics. It would be up to the attendee to use, better, American BFM tactics. Every aircraft in existence has some strength and some weakness against other aircraft. Pilots are taught to exploit their enemies weaknesses while maximizing their own. So, no, you are wrong on all accounts. When the Tomcat comes out, you can jump in a Fulcrum or a Flanker and I will fly the Tomcat and I will show you how wrong you are. -
Because when it was submitted for appropriations to be funded by Congress it was solely going to be a fighter/interceptor. It was originally designed with Fox2's in mind. Later Fox 1s & 3s were added as well as the A/G component.

HACQ = Helmet Acquisition Mode (5 NM) LACQ = Long Range Helmet Acquisition mode (10 NM)

You set the TACAN on your UFC as you would if you were tuning into a tanker or airfield. You have to have a separation of, if I remember correctly, 63 channels. There was a post a while back that explains how the transmit of a receiving frequency is 63 channels apart. This is how things are and nothing you need to change. I don't remember the technical details of how this comes to be. If you set your TACAN to 69 and your wingman set theirs to 6, they will be able to get range on you. You will only get information on the closest wingman - if there are more than one.
-
Not sure what you are seeing, you will need to post a track file for us to see and critique. What I can tell you is having your flight path marker in the middle of the wires is wrong as it puts you way too low. You're not supposed to use the area before the wires to land. You should be touching down in a very small area that accommodates your tail hook catching the third wire. I can assure you 100%, without a doubt, that you are not on the proper glide slope. When I am landing and I catch the third wire, my flight path marker is somewhere between the end of the landing area and the fourth wire. At least that is where it typically ends up when I am on the ball.

What to Expect in the Next Hornet Open Beta Update (11/21?)
Revelation replied to Fropa's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Wags nor ED have stated that there are only four people working on the Hornet. Wags only made mention of four people that were working on the systems planned to be released "next." Please stop spreading false information. -
What to Expect in the Next Hornet Open Beta Update (11/21?)
Revelation replied to Fropa's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You have to remember that new features are not necessarily dependent on existing features to be complete. ED should add features as they are ready and not put artificial dependencies on their release. -
What to Expect in the Next Hornet Open Beta Update (11/21?)

I think bug fixes are a good bet and there's a chance we may see IR MAVs around the 21st since they can be enabled via a Lua edit today. -
Unable to slave Aim 9x to radar locked target while using JHMCS
Revelation replied to CrazyGman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yes. Assign the RECCE MK button to your joystick. After you have turned the dial to turn on the JHMCS, the RECCE button will toggle the JHMCS display. -
You can always set it to "invisible" and "immortal" to avoid that issue.
-
Well I never read where you said it was off-center for the right eye, just that it wasn't centered. If I missed it, so be it.
-
Well it's not supposed to be centered. In real life it is only a right-eye monocular. Wags has stated that they are looking into making an option to change the default behavior; you'll have to wait and see what they come up with.
-
Wags said they are looking into making it an option. Until then, it is how it is in real life.
