He fires in STT

So TWS has the lowest Track Quality out of all the modes in the viper. In TWS your target is not receiving the same amount of attention as the rest of the scope, so you have no better track quality than some random target your not attempting to engage. In SAM your radar gives more attention to the target you have bugged which leads to a higher track quality. In STT your radar is giving the bugged target the radar's FULL attention giving the highest track quality. IRL TWS is not used like at all. They even removed the TMS Right long to switch between RWS/TWS and replaced it with an auto sort function for SAM in newer tapes.

They dont use TWS irl anymore in the F-16, they just use SAM, DTT and STT pretty much

It was from a FOIA request, the data is approved for public release

Correct, no data connection Range cue is simply a marker to use, doesnt really specifically mean something, it can mean whatever you set it as. The setting you enter are just used for DLZ and calculations jet side, doesnt affect the bomb at all. you can, yes

USAF doesnt use APG-68(v)9 they use the APG-68(v)1 and the (v)5, only export vipers have the (v)9. Recently the USAF is updating to the APG-83

The USAF vipers dont use APG-68(v)9, they use the 68(v)5 or more recently the APG-83.

"The newest version, LITENING AT, is in production and will begin fielding in 2003. It further extends target detection and recognition ranges, improves the target coordinate generation accuracy, and provides multi-target cueing." https://www.acc.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/199176/litening-iierat/

The DCS F-16CM's LITENING TGP page is modeled incorrectly, and is modeled as a LANTIRN TGP page instead of a LITNEING TGP page. This is evident if you look at a LANTIRN TGP page in F-16 documentation. Ive also sourced a few photos that illustrate the inaccuracies in this modeling. show above is what a LITENING TGP page should look like, as you can see its quite a bit different than what is modeled in DCS. You can see the Multi Target track button on OSB 18 which allows you to track multiple targets at the same time with the TGP. You can see the laser pointer options on OSB 2 with options of LSR, PTR, and BTH similar to the A-10C. There are a few things that are greyed out in this image but I can describe a few of them. In the bottom left window is the Passive ranging function which uses baro altitude and a few algorithms to determine the range to target. Now shown above is the LANTIRN TGP which looks nearly identical to the supposed LITENING targeting pod page shown in DCS.

They already modeled the LANTIRN TGP page so all they would have to do is make it so you can load the pod. They marked that post “Contradicts All Documentation,” but that’s simply not the case lol.

The “DL” switch is to turn on IDM, “MIDS LVT” is to turn on Link 16 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please consider adding the LANTIRN TGP to the DCS viper. It wouldnt be that much work because the LANTIRN TGP page is already implemented.

not planned Allow the use of the HDU with NVGs

I was flying with an apache pilot yesterday and he was talking about how he did it irl and how other people do it too and was wishing he could do it in game. -
Although this isnt a official procedure, many apache pilots flip their HDU under their goggles when flying. Would be nice if we could do the same in dcs.
-
Not just the echo, I think FXD was added roughly in 2012
-
Yeah, you can use it in public missions

Heres a Kneeboard template I made for the Apache. If you have Adobe Acrobat you can easily fill in each section. Kneeboard v3.pdf Kneeboard v4.pdf

Why does AD2 change the function delay? Im not aware of any documentation that says thats what its for -

The newly implemented AD1 and AD2 in the SMS control page is implemented wrong. In DCS they seem to adjust the delay until the bomb explodes after impact which is a function delay. They should instead be used to set the bomb arming delay from the bomb into the jet so the aircraft can give proper HUD cues. Adjusting the settings in the SMS CNTL page should not adjust the actual weapon parameters. You are supposed to enter the parameters to match what is setup on the bomb itself. AD2 is used when a Category I munition is selected and the fuzing option is TAIL or NSTL. If that is not the case AD1 is used. Category 1 munitions include: MK-82 AIR MK-82 Mk-82 Snakeye Mk-84 AIR Mk-84 GBU-10 GBU-12 BDU-33 -
This is modeled incorrectly, AD2 is not a function delay. Instead AD2 is used when a category 1 munition is selected and NSTL or TAIL is the selected fuzing option. If else, AD1 is used. C2 is used for munitions that need an Arming delay and a burst altitude.
