  1. Of course you could change that Sobek :music_whistling: ;)
  2. ^^ never mind the g meter, sitting on that thing is the best form of birth control there is. You'll be shooing blanks for a week after riding that thing.
  3. I commend you guys at least trying to start it up! I remember only having about 15 mins before I had to leave for a few hours to try it out. Instant action button was my friend, didn't even bother to set my controls...just GO! Flew around for a bit in awe, marveled at how "simple" it was to maintain horizontal flight and generally left after 15 mins feeling pretty good about myself. Then the next time around I applied producer note startup and found the whole transitional flight experience to be more difficult than I had thought. (happily more difficult hehe :pilotfly:) Obviously it was ground school and flight school for the next few weeks for me...probably my most satisfying time in the shark. Looking forward to the same in the A-10. And yes I do like to think "HELL yes" I could fly the real thing after mastering DCS 10...whether that's realistic or not...when I look in the mirror I see a TRUE... AVIATOR ;) :joystick:
  4. !!! Things seem to be moving forward nicely !! Thanks for the update!
  5. I didn't mean to be patronizing, simply saying commenting on an artists work before it's done to such an extent can be a little premature. Polishing and refining is the last thing you do. There is a huge difference between a rough cut of a film and a final cut. I appreciate you want the best finished product, I'm sure the artists building and lighting this stuff do as well.
  6. Guys, lets get him!!!!!!! Arrrrrggggggg ;)
  7. It will look better when it's completed, capable artists at work here. The inablilty to understand the WIP meaning may result in fewer WIP screenshots which will result in suckage at it's finest. :D
  8. Love the shots, thanks! !
  9. http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_451a.html An article on SIM HQ that sort of relates to what we're talking about.
  10. No doubt the dcs model will be accurate. The entire sim was built around the thing ;).
  11. And what's the GAU-8 avenger cannon, chop liver?? ;)
  12. It has been mentioned in a few interviews it will be a scaleable sim, if it was strictly an arcade title I'm sure it would have been released already. The development time would come from complex lines of code required to "simulate reality". For some reasons reality to us is natural, but to a computer it's a very difficult concept ;).
  13. Your programming teacher is wise in the classroom, but who knows how practical that statement is in the real world. Money and timelines are two MAJOR concerns when dealing with building a brand new engine. An engine that can fully simulate flight characteristics, free fall, laser guided munitions and ballistics all while being modifiable is not what I would consider "bad concept", I'm sure Kamov and the US National Guard would agree with me. The idea behind the DCS series is to be module based. That is to say each DCS title can somehow communicate to the other. That is the future of what I see to be the DCS series. FC has had a wonderful sendoff, it's had a great run for the last decade, but it's time for the next series to take the lead. In 5 years *cue inspirational music* when we have fast movers and perhaps another helicopter, jet jockets, rotor heads and strikers will be flying under one high fidelity roof calling in support, CAP'ing, CAS'ing our way to virtual victory! :joystick: As of right now BS and FC 2.0 are compatible...perhaps as we move forward it gets left at that, and BS and A-10C are made compatible leaving F.C 2.0 gracefully behind. (Who knows how it will end up in the end). I have to say once again that I see NO WHERE ELSE in the flight sim industry where ANY developers are even coming close to doing what ED has done with it's titles in the last 2 years. There is potential on the horizon with SOW, FO and Jet Thunder? . . . but those have yet to be realized. As much as I love Falcon, I'm glad I have another quality sim series to play with in the meantime. EDIT: Okay I'm done, day off today and miserable rainy day outside = too much time on DCS forums. If you're interested in Vietnam era helicopter instructional video's, check this out...
  14. google translate FAIL! ;)
  15. he's got you there Oscar ;) ;) ;)
  16. So in other words unless ED makes LEAPS and bounds inside roughly 9 month time you're not going to be happy? SHoot did I just start this up again? I would like to know a flight sim company that has really gone above and beyond expectation with every single release in the last 5 years. Rise of Flight has done a nice job, but that's WWI aviation and without the details of a higher level of flight dynamics/physics. Reaper you have very high expectations, perhaps too high for the realities we live in within the flight sim medium. As someone who's been simming since 1991 at least I would think you would have a better grasp on what the capabilities and limitations achievable in this video game market that has left flight simming to die on the side of the road. Perhaps I'm too complacent, but I fully enjoy the products ED puts out, more so than anything else since Falcon 4 dropped. There's no current modern era sim you can even play that has 8 plus flyable aircraft (both Russian and American, fixed and rotar). THAT in my opinion is hardly "fox's leather" releases.
  17. Jól van hülye gyerek, inkább pihenjél... All right, stupid kid, but relax ... google translate is awesome Sorry Reaper, didn't mean to harp on the English as a second language thing...i should have taken the signs and not gone and commented on it. Low blow on my part. Peace offering. . . . . GG, Evil and other members, sorry for that thread derail on our part, it got more personal than it should for a public thread :) Apologies.
  18. My understanding of English prohibits me from fully understanding your last post... // runs away:pilotfly:
  19. Where did I say anywhere that ED can't make realistic sounds?? I didn't write that anywhere, I simply said it's not perfect duplication of sounds because that is VERY difficult simply because of the science of sound dynamics. I'm happy with the sound engine friend, you can quote me on that so you don't misunderstand. I'm not saying chuck yeager's graphics are adaquet either, my god you put words in people's mouth. I don't think english is a native language of yours and perhaps that would explain your misunderstanding or your tone ("select your words" doesn't make sense). I did say your POSTS LACK RESPECT...you pulled all these other meanings out of what I said except the general issue...must be a side effect of living on the moon. Anyway I don't want to get into it with you, reading your posts left a nasty feeling in my gut and I felt I had to comment. I'm sorry if I offended you or you misunderstood what I wrote for whatever the reasons...be it moon or English as a third language, whatever. And for the record i've been flying sims for 20 years...yeah no mind of my parents here friend.
  20. Jeezuz what the hell man? Go to an airbase and listen to the sounds?? What is your problem besides trying to start a fight. Your posts on this matter are without any respect at all and seem to lack a general understanding of the complexity of the issue. The sound engine is not perfect, ED knows this, they're bright individuals. To insult the testers like you did in an earlier post and to continue with this is just lame. The science of sound is VERY EFFING complicated, so yeah we know what an airbase sounds like, but I've never seen the sounds of an airbase replicated inside a game. As far as REX, please...weather in a combat sim is interesting but it's by no means the crowning achievment. If you had NO weather in FSX...you would loose a good portion of what makes it interesting. There are no targets in FSX, no combat mission objectives in FSX. This thread really needs to stop comparing FSX to BS or LOCKON. They were built completely different from the ground up. These debates are fun when the logic is present and it's a battle of the witts. Oversimplicfications and calling out the flaws in a very complicated simulation isn't debating. Logic doesn't need defending, do a little research or grow your understanding on certain things before posting, because the mods and testers are defending common sense and actuality while some are arguing fiction and bull s*it.
  21. There's no point trying to explain why ED SHOULD do this. They're aware of the reasons why it would be beneficial to continually update FC2 to keep the "community unified". They're also aware of the more intimate details such as costs and resources involved in making the transition. There's nothing we can do but repeat ourselves over and over until 1) A-10C gets released and 2) announcement is made whether or not it's possible to make A-10C compatible with FC2. Generally speaking, personal comments such as "I'm not going to buy this game until compatibility is made" serve nothing more than flame fodder. Absolutely nothing is final yet, hell, DCS A-10C isn't even out yet so lets take it easy a bit until more information is made available. (HIJACK) Not directed at you directly, just generally speaking. :)
  22. You not playing A-10C because of your thoughts on compatibility will be no ones loss but your own. The community will survive, they're not that weak or shallow to spite an outstanding sim simply because it's not compatible with an 8 year old product. Communities no matter how loyal you are to them shift and change, you're actions aren't going to stop that from happening, ED's actions aren't going to stop that from happening. If it weren't for ED right now, we would have no new modern day simulation products to fly with. FC2 and BS will always have compatability as of right now, no guarentee for A-10C but I am confidant the future of the DCS series WILL bring compatability with each other creating a higher fidelity simulation series. Until then I'm happy to play FC2 online and A-10C online (on it's own cooporatively) if I must.
  23. As of right now these are DCS A-10C screen shots. It hasn't been made official that the update will carry over to DCS Black Shark, but it is being indicated that this will be the long term goal (module compatibility). Short answer: Too early to tell Long answer: a good possibility. New shots and info are great, thanks for the update. Looking forward to seeing what some third party guys do with new terrain ideas.
  24. We can't fly tons of anything with DCS fidelity so we'll dream what we want to dream :P. Besides in the end it will come down to who gives ED the contract and release the rights. It won't matter if it's Russian, American or friggen European. There is no story book ending as to what the next module will be. It's ALLLLLLL business ;).
