Correct. The RIO is the one controlling the LANTIRN pod. The data image can be repeated onto one of the pilots up front repeaters so the pilot can release the bomb at the correct point or on the signal of the RIO. Note: That's how it worked in reality. Not sure if HB will model that.

I believe Iron Eagle 2 was the one with the plot of fighter pilots with claustrophobia... Top Gun dealt with pilots losing their edge/confidence when nearly getting shot down (Cougar) and guilt over losing their squad-mates/RIO (Maverick/Goose) causing an overblown ego to be utterly deflated and then brought back up to a rational level.

Well the idea is that there are some guys who want to fly the Hornet but are planning on immediately jumping into the Tomcat the moment it releases. We didn't want to have our two other Hornet squadrons, 87 and 15, left in the lurch with a sudden brain drain when that happens. We created 201 so that the guys who are likely to drop the Hornet and not pick it back up have a place to do their thing.

So I've been enjoying other games and sims..and one newer one on the market, a tactical FPS set in the realm of modern combat, and is squad based, has native VOIP. You've got two options, local and group transmit (IE in your immediate area and one for your squad) and you don't need to mess around with anything. It simply recognizes when you have a microphone and transmits. Would it be possible for something similar with DCS? No messing around with a 3rd party app (IE SimpleRadio), TeamSpeak or Discord..just..get in, set the radios, and transmit.
