  1. Any luck getting this bound? I cant find it in the controls section anywhere.
  2. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3926013&postcount=233 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3926013&postcount=234 These are a great resource, however in DCS, some of the functions don't mirror reality. The light switches on the right panel, for instance, are done with a 3 way switch. The volume controls on the left rear panel won't work with pots. There may be work arounds to make them work that I don't know about. I am doing some cleanup wiring on the left panel today and tomorrow. This was the first panel wired. I have found, and did with the right panel, that putting the grounds on a common wire cleans up and makes things much neater and able to make adjustments better. The biggest learning lesson was do NOT pre-wire your switches with pigtails. It was a complete waste of time and it causes a huge mess. The way to go is to put together a wiring diagram so you can do it right the first time. I thought I was smarter than that and was doing a good thing, not. Food for thought.
  3. I didn't think I was being a dick... I thought I was helping.... I moved my windows task bar to the right side when I started doing DCS in the Rift because of the accidental window switching.
  4. I shit you not.. the next time I see the good idea fairy, I am going to send a Sparrow straight up its ass! Lmao Improve on it? Maybe that's a good starting point for PC 2.0 but for now- production ship, production ship! Defensive? Uh noooooo..... just trying to .. screw it.. never mind... lol
  5. PC is designed and allows you to simulate actually pushing buttons and flipping switches in the VR cockpit. It also allows you to push/pull levers too as in the defog lever in the Hornet. So reaching out towards a panel is actually a large if not the main part of what we asked for in the beginning. It is a major part of what makes PC as cool a gadget as it is. Calibration is necessary to align the cursor to your finger in different VR HMD's. It also allows you to fine tune the interaction. It works the same regardless of what aircraft you are in. It is also vital in getting a 2D device (the mouse) to interact in a 3d (VR) environment. If you are only using it as a finger mounted mouse then you aren't getting as much as there is to this out of it and, in fact, are not using it in the manner it was designed. The twitchiness is caused by not reaching out in front of you. This has been discussed ad nausem in this thread. I'm sure by searching through it you will find a lot of the answers to your questions. At this juncture, any change in how it works and what it gives you isn't practical since production has begun and the instructions and procedures have been worked out to fit nicely with what PC began and is marketed as. Miles will want to jump in and discuss this, I guarantee, but hopefully it will be enough to realize it is what it is supposed to be now. I was the first one to get a paid for version and have been working with this long enough to tell you that getting to this point has been a long, long process. It has been rewarding though. I went through the video and practice page of the Manual last night and everyone who is new at this or having trouble needs to do it. It will make the calibration easier. A lot is made about the calibration. It really is simple after you do it a few times. It seems to overshadow what PC is and does. As has been put out here before, do a quick calibration and USE PC. After you see what itn does and how much it gives you THEN start getting into the weeds of personalizing it.
  6. Absolutely well said! I have had mine since the beginning and it is easy to forget that. So it may take a bit but it is SO worth it!
  7. Just some helpful hints.. Sometimes you want to use the regular mouse in DCS. I do especially for anything 2d like the Mission Editor or maybe controls and options. Just reach up and push the left button on the HMS. The cursor will go from the middle of the screen up and to the upper left. When you want the 'finger pistols' to work, just push that button again. I would recommend using a font size of 1.5 in the options and settings menu. It will make reaching up to select, especially during refueling, much much easier. Usually, the mouse click on the Comms Menu will engage/press the highlighted selection but occasionally it will highlight it but the message isn't sent. Simply do it again. The 2D to 3D interface is probably to blame or the time the switch stays pressed (that would be mostly a me thing). Eventually this will be solved. Miles and Wags are talking about it in the Skunk Works, I'm sure. I'm glad those that have received their units are finding they are an instant 'Can't fly without them' item as I have! So anyone wanting a 1:1 Tomcat cockpit, let me know! lol
  8. I am sure happy that someone has figured out how to turn the brightness of the cursor down!! Thank you, K!!!
  9. A word of advice on calibration and using PC in general - don't make it harder than it is and spend some time using it before you worry about getting it absolutely accurate with edge calibration and constantly trying to fine tune it. Just use it for awhile. It will only take a day or so for you to get completely familiar with what it does and how AND what is important to you and what doesn't matter TO YOU. THEN go in and get the fine tuning and all done IF you feel you need to. If PC is doing everything you want it to then updating to each firmware version is unnecessary unlike something like DCS updates. This isn't brain surgery and nobody is going to die. I guarantee that the first time you jump in the cockpit and start flipping switches, and then wonder why nothing is happening? Then you realize it is because you forgot to put or turn the finger pistols on - you will be hooked...
  10. It wasn't so much an increase in precision as a way to keep from accidentally clicking the non VR part of your window. That would cause PC to lose focus in game requiring you to put the regular cursor back over the DCS window.
  11. Any luck getting this working? It used to. I'm not sure if I am not setting it up right or if it is broke.
  12. So to translate what Miles said - You can't fix what you don't know is broken. So if you are having an issue, speak up. Now, having said that - The good idea fairy is a wonderful thing as long it doesn't interfere in the smooth roll-out of a product that is already fulfilling it's initial design concept and promises. At some point, hopefully soon, PC will be getting its own forum up and running. Wish lists, problems, instruction, etc... will have an organized place to be tracked and addressed. Just to point something out to anyone not sure if this tech is as good as it sounds - Last night I jumped into the sim, got in the Tomcat, and started flipping switches... what the hell?? The switches aren't moving! Well, DAMN, I forgot to put the Finger Pistols on! That is a pretty cool thing and a good benchmark for what you are going to be able to do once you use it.
  13. Keep in mind that this is a VR use item. Also remember that you are simulating being in a real airplane. If you are typing away with both hands in the cockpit, that is probably going to go badly. The concept and the end product is to allow you to flip switches and do things to increase immersion and decrease the feel of a keyboard run game. PC does this exceptionally well. My understanding is that there are VR keyboards available. I'm sure I saw someone had integrated one into DCS. The bottom line is that PC wasn't designed for, and shouldn't, do anything but what it was built to do. The good idea fairy can be a real bitch sometimes! lol
  14. They are coming, folks! They AARRRRREEEEE coming!
  15. I can't wait to try this! It sounds like a much better zoom solution than stock!
  16. Oh, ok, just checking! Thanks!!
  17. A-4C Tanker option I noticed that the A-4C can be designated and equipped to fly as a tanker but he isn't listed in the comm menu. He flies the pattern and has the tanks. Help or idea's how to wake him up?
  18. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3791442&postcount=195 When you get what you need done, post it here for others to use. Most of what you want is in this forum already.
  19. Do some searching through this thread and you will find a goldmine of info that a lot of us have taken a lot of time to find and develop.

  21. Can't agree more!! Folks get wrapped around the frame rate numbers. Just fly it!! If you have issues then things can be done but to waste time just trying to max your frame rate number is a waste of time. For me, and I don't measure frame rates often, there is no difference between 25 fps and 50 fps. I use the performance tab of the Task Manager to diagnose when/if my system hiccups.
  22. Tried this fix and I still haven't been able to get any Comm Menus to come up...
  23. Gotta say this... PC is like the Jetseat/simshakers, you don't want to fly without it after you start using it!
  24. Just a quick reminder that PointCTRL ships with everything you need to mount, set-up, and use it. Also, if you have questions or concerns during the ordering process - ASK! Customer Satisfaction really is Miles's top priority!
